For those of you that don't know, Gerald Green is the rookie out of high school te Celtics took in the first round. Over the last 5 or so games he has finally got some decent playing time and is a complete athletic freak (not to mention ray allen type range). He won the Mcdonalds slam dunk contest last year and you can easily see why in the

that was posted on utube. Check it out.

:D unbelieveable hopssweet link, thx :club:
On that dunk he takes off the glass, I can honestly say I have never seen someones head that high over the rim in my life. He is nearly looking down at the rim at his peak. Unreal.

Green has been impressive over the last few games. I wrote in another post somewhere that I had not been impressed with the Celtics raft picks over the past few years. I also stated that while Green is a rookie and would need more time to evaluate (I always give the rookies a break), I was highly concerned that Celtics sent him to the D-league. It looks like the move may have payed off. His athleticism should be enough to keep in the NBA, but I'll still have to wait and see what type of pkayer he will be. Next season will be huge for him.Two observations:1. Dont get too excited over his 3 point range just yet. I know his shot looks good but he's only attempted about 11 treys all season. Small sample size.2. I know he's young and everyone else does it, but would someone please tell him to stop staring down opponents when he makes a wide open uncontested dunk where the closest opposing player is 15 feet away.

I agree, he has a very small sample size in just about every catagory, but wouldn't you be shocked if he isn't at the very least an above average 3 point shooter for his size for his career? That jumper is impossible to gaurd and silky smooth.

I dont care about the sample size, the kid can shoot it. I saw him in the McD's all american game and he was shooting from waaaaaaaay back. His shooting motion is so natural I dont think it can get "bad" from what it is. He's going to be a stud.

I'm not trying to rag on Green here. I really like what he's shown laetely, but I just need to see a little more of him. He's only played in 28 games and only showed his gifted skills in the last 11 games (and he's been very impressive in those last 11).I saw him in the McDonalds All-American game too and his stroke is very smooth. That, combined with his ability to elevate, should make him an excellent 3 point shooter. The key word is "should." Sometimes these guys will fool you. Once defenders start adjusting, lets see what happens. But I like his shot right now.And he doesnt even really need to be great 3 point shooter anyways. He only needs to be good enough so that defenders will have to guard him out there. Then he can use his athleticism to blow them.I have a question for the Celtics fans out there since i'm too lazy to look this up myself, what is the status of Wally's contract? I only ask because this becomes important next season. I would like to see them start Green next season, but I have a hard time seeing Wally coming off the bench. Is Wally a free agent? If not, I would expect the Celtics to move him, but I have no idea what his contract is like.

He's signed all the way till 2009 making an average of 12 mil per.I don't see anyway Green will start next year, I'm thinking their going to depend on him and Tony Allen as the scoring off the bench that we lacked all this year. Also, since Raef likely won't be starting I don't see managment being too happy with having 25 million rapped up in 2 bench players. Plus I think Wally benefits maybe the most with having someone like Pierce on the floor with him since he typically has a real tough time creating his own shot. Prince what's your favorite team? You seem to really know your ish

Thanks, I was curious about Wally's status because I want to see Green get good minutes next year. I know Wally likes to play big minutes so hopefully the coach can handle the situation. Green needs good game time experience to keep improving his game. And I'm a big Rockets fan. This year is killing me. Hopefully we get a draft pick that come in and help right away.

I prefer this one.Dunks
ahhhhhhhh the reignman. was my favorite player growing up. Then my beloved hometown Cavaliers traded for him. All was right with the world, and I was giddy. Then he turned out to be a fat, alcoholic, womenizing, no child support paying, lazy PIECE OF SH*T. And an aweful basketball player to boot. But I'm not bitter :club: sweet video of him in his glory days though. thx.He was flat out amazing in seattle. what a waste :D
