internet finger ...

Recommended Posts

Did anyone else question what they were doing with there life when that line came out on Tilt last night? My fiancee and I looked at each other and it took a good three seconds before we asked if we had actually just heard that. I honestly look at Tilt as one of the best comedys on TV, not a poker show. That whole scene just left me on the floor. The fact that they both are betting all their money with two pair without a thought that the flush and straight just hit ... hilarious. For those that dont remember the hand it went something like this.Hero: KQoInternet Finger Guy: Q9oBoard: Kd Qd X 9d Then they get it all in. Our hero making the 'brilliant' slowplay the whole way. At least they really have Norman Chad doing the announcing. He is so dumb that I actually believe he would say "what a brilliant slowplay". :D

he had picked up a tell that when the internet player had a big hand he clicked a virtuall mouse, so eddie knew his top 2 were good.
Yeah, I thought this was pretty obvious. Guess not. Some people still think this is a poker show, and not a show that has some poker in it. *shrug*

well in reality the kid bet out on the flop and it looked like he was protecting his hand so i wouldnt have been worried about a straight draw.

Exactly, its more for entertainment value than educational value. I wouldn't watch this to learn how to play the game better. I watch because the next best option is watching the Donald

Yeah how funny was that scene last night. I mean this guy is the self professed amateur internet player. Then he gets beat by Eddie's slowplay and pulls a Phil Hellmuth. At least Phil's face doesn't look like the crater of the moon. How many pimples and scars did that kid have?? This show never ceases to amaze me. Between the non existent poker action, hokey one liners, and hot chicks ready to take it all off, I think they must be having problems coming up with plot twists here. I think eventually they will have to bring in Elizabeth Berkley from Showgirls just for comic relief. Me likey some Jessie Span-o-ho! JmHeel

If you guys think this show is to "teach" you poker than you are wrong. It's just a good show about poker players. It's not reality get over it. I like the show. I watch it and think it's entertaining. Not Grammy worthy, but I don't only watch those shows.

I could only get through a half-episode. Something about that show really bothers me....can't quite put my finger on it though. Maybe I've just known too many of those types in my past . Anyhow, it just makes me want to play.

Elizabeth Berkley
:D maybe Belding can make a guest appearance at the table too, I doubt he's had any work lately
Mr. Belding is actually in a Toyota commercial that is currently running.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I enjoy watching this show a lot. I take it for what it is and I thought the internet player thing was extremely funny, reminded me of ohh.... half the people they showed on WSOP last year. The funniest part was when they showed his "workplace" with 3 computers one LARGE screen on each monitor he was 3 tabling on 3 computers! WOW! That was the funniest part, because at the same time, I was 3 tabling on one screen lol.

What is really funny, or odd, I can't determine which, was that IMMEDIATELY as Eddie dropped the boat on the flop on his dad, I also got a 5's full of 2's on a microlimit site.

I agree. the show has some appeal, beyond being comically bad.I liked the Internet guy’s tantrum. It reminded me of the fact that, for whatever reason, player who start on the Internet (including my self.) are more likely then others to have a false, elitist attitude, and wig out over whatever they (once again… my self included.) wrongly interpret as a “bad beat”. Any theories on why our game is more likely to have this hindrance?Dutch.

Most people who play online are "by the book" they like to tell people what they did wrong at the table, berate people for making stupid plays...Like when he said "this is whats wrong with these tournaments, idiots like that" rough quote there...It's easy to spot these types of players, first off, there young. I was like this until like seriously 2 months ago. An internet player ussually loses in a casino, they grow impatient, they can't STAND playing one hand at a time, and waiting to see cards. I began playing in person, so I think that helped me with this, I had to get used to the internet pace and not the other way around.People who start online are USED to getting minimum 60 hands an hour, and people who 3-4 table, myself included, see on average 250 hands an hour, so you're seeing aces on average once an hour! When they get to the casino and don't see as many good hands... well... they get in a bad mood. They feel its there duty to point out what people are doing wrong for some odd reason. Why is this? They want to let everyone know that they're a good player. Makes absolutely no sense, its -EV! When i'm playing with these people I'll open up my game big-time. If theres 2 guys in the pot, and they're both relative newcomers (6 months) so they're playing "correct poker" playing high cards and pairs and there betting basically lets you know what they have lol.I will call with almost any drawing hand from late position, and if rags come, I bet or re-raise them. If they've got the pocket pair and I didn't pick up on it, so be it, They've got me beat, but It pays to steal these pots from this type of player.

You thought of ways to get off the tilt? Tilt is the worst thing that can happen to a player.. case and point Phil Helmuth... theres a reason he doesn't win as much as the other pros....I think reading Zen and the Art of Poker could help you out Dutch. I had my friends rate me on Barry Greenstien's stuff and this is the average of what the 5 guys gave me.Aggressiveness: 7 Looseness: 7Short-handed: 6Limit: 6No-limit: 8Tournaments: 7Side games: 8Steam control: 8.5Against weak players: 7Against strong players: 8This is obviously not something were we compared ourselves if we were sitting with pro's. We did this regarding our local game, I was REAL suprised that they gave me such high marks but I was happiest with my steam control because its something I've worked on over the years.
