sometimes you can get too lucky

I know this is going to sound like a dumb post, but I wanted to know if any of you guys have had nights like these.....Last night i was playing in my weekly NL Hold em .25/,50 blinds. I bought in for $20 it was werid I was losing with hands like AK QQ and anything else good but i was winning with like stupid hands like K7 Q7 89.....oh well Ill take itAbout 2 hours into the game I have about $16 in front of me. The pot was raised $2 to me.....I look down at 99 and I move all in for another $14. I get called by two people.....im praying like like AK AQ or 88. Both players flip thier cards over.....one has JJ the other has QQ......Crap.....I end up flopping a set of 9's and taking the pot down.....About an hour after that someone raises to $2 under the gun (lose player) This other kid is thinking about it for like a good 10 minutes and finally moes all in. I look down at 66......now I really thought the kid that moved all in had AK.....if he had any pair he would have done it in less time. it costs me about $30 to call....I really felt I had the best hand so I called. The orginal raiser folds showing 99 - whewwww....dogdged a bullet there. The other kid flips over QQ......I couldnt believe that he took that long to think about it with QQ. anyway the kid is dealing out the flop and you guessed it......i get a 6.....the kid that folded would have had a set of 9's and I take down a $60 dollar pot. I felt really bad.......the kid I beat was a really nice kid I feel like he thinks that I made a bad play, but I really thouht I had the best hand. At the end of the night of walk away with about $120Wins like these really make me feel indifferent....I dont think that I won with skill, just luck. I mean I should have gotten broke 2 hours into the night.

so let me get this straightfirst person raises, second person goes all in, you have pocket 6s and hope that the second person has overs giving you "the best hand" which motivates you to call (let alone you didn't consider the first person) WAY TO GO

I really don't want to sound like a jerk here, but it's probably going to kind of sound that way. If you feel bad about getting lucky and taking that money off your friends, you don't have to worry. As long as you keep playing like that, you will lose your money back to them in no time, with interest.

No Offense taken my freind.....looking back at it, it was a bad call. But from the time that he took so long to call i really thought he had Ace King.....I made the call cause thats what i thought and I would still have decent chips to play with if i lost. I followed my first instinct which is what you should do in poker......I was wrong.....and i should have lost. I dont like winning with luck

10 minutes?? I would have punched him in the mouth after about 2 minutes!!He doesn't THINK you made a bad play. He KNOWS you made a bad play.If you feel bad about taking money from your friends, then you shouldn't play with friends. It sounds as if this is going to change descisions that you make in your games. Do you think they're going to feel bad when they take all that money back and then some??
