Best Way To Play Against A Maniac..

Interesting hand and would like some feedback.. Live 1/2 game, 200 max buy-in. Been playing for 45 minutes or so. I haven't played many hands at all. Haven't shown one down yet. Villain is a maniac playing about a third of his hands and pushing most of them pretty hard.Hero (210$) in EP has QcQs and raises to 10. Villain (270$) re-raises to 35. Hero re-raises to 90. Villain moves all-in. Hero calls.Would it have been better for me to flat call his raise and evaluate things on the flop? If he had AK I know he'll bet no matter what flops and an A or K on the flop would help me get away from the hand losing only the minimum amount. Is it better to out-maniac the maniac or just passively call and let him keep bluffing at me?

If you can narrow his range down to AK or a big pair, he isnt a maniac.If you cant narrow his hand range down that much but you still plan on folding the flop whenever a king or ace hits, you're going to be folding a winning hand a lot of the time.

Against a true maniac, I'll go broke with queens pre-flop.

Do you not want a maniac betting into you? I mean if he does have AK at the worst, and you just called and he raised, cause he is a maniac and if he plays he is going to raise with anything.Flop comes no Ace no king and I think he will bet into you anyways, raise and re-raise and you might get some good dough, you flop a q and he will give you all his money.

Call. If he's been playing a lot of hands and pushing them hard, there's no telling what he could have. You're only behind 2 hands. Plus, you've already invested 40% of your stack. Easy call.

Against a maniac, get in strong early, or trap huge. "Why do the pushin' if the donkey is doing the pullin'?"In this situation, with QQ, I am cheerfully maxing out the preflop action every time.
