mrdannyg 274
looks like a pretty safe turn to push on, but i've never played high enough where i had to worry about "only getting called by a better hand" or being transparent.
Chamonyx 0
Check/call.....AGAIN is all you can do here - and if there is a Bet and a raise you have to fold.Great example of why not to complete with this hand from OOP. The trouble with 99 is that you can only make top set when there is etiher 2 to a low on board - with the possibilities of being free-rolled after the turn. In this case, you have played it very passively due to position, which has conserved your chips - but you have no clue where you are in the hand. If you are going to play this hand then I think you need to check-raise the flop. If you get played back at then you can fold (and you will be where you are now in terms of chips, but you will feel better). A call of your raise suggests a draw, and there are some monster draws out there, as you acknowledge. When the turn misses the draws, you can feel a lot more comfortable betting out if you are against one player.
greatwhite 0
You have got to either bet or check-raise the flop to find out where you are in the hand. I like the check-raise a lot here, because if you get reraised you can fold your hand being fairly sure that you're either in a coinflip or drawing to one out.
moneytoburn 0
I definitely agree that completing the SB with this type of hand can lead to huge problems and hard decisions.I gave serious thought to check raising the turn here, and in retrospect I feel like this is the best play. From the turn action, I strongly felt like I had the best hand. I could have made it $366 on the check raise and committed myself to a pot as a decent favorite.
navybuttons 15
i check-raise the turn as well. i just don't know what to do on the river because i would play the flop and turn more agressively to find out where i am.
moneytoburn 0
The way the hand was played I think my only play on river was to check/call here. Anyways, here are the results...........
