Hotels With The Best Deals

Recommended Posts

Going to vegas just wanted some input on where to stay and where not to stay and which hotel is the best bang for the buck. Thanks Marc
All depends on what you can afford. Also, if you play anything other than poker, you may be able to get discounts/comps. I love the Wynn, but I'd never stay there if I was paying for it (without a significant increase in my bankroll first). I'd say one of the best places to stay for the money is the Nugget downtown. I like the Aladdin a lot too, I got a deal through hotels.com or some similar site last time I stayed there, and it's great. The MGM has a poker rate, but it's only something like 10% off the rack rate, which is still pretty pricey. Generally you are going to pay at least $150 a night on the strip, and it goes higher on weekends. Just pray that whenever you go there is no convention in town. Last time I went, the prices doubled or tripled because there was a huge convention there (over 100,000?).

I was there about a year ago with my company, and we stayed at the Monte Carlo. they don't have much poker there, but the rooms were nice and affordable (not sure of the rate, but I know they weren't ridiculous because my boss wouldn't have gone for it).Its also a short walk to 4-5 casinos and there is a tram next door where you can get over to the Luxor pretty quickly. Lots of cheap buy in tourneys there that run all day and are donk-licious. didn't play the cash games.I would recommend avoinding staying downtown at the Nugget because if you want to get to the strip, the cab ride will set you back a couple of BBs depending on what limit you play. Hence the cheaper rates there.

I was in Vegas last January ... Most important advice is Definitely avoid conventions time. After that, I assume you dont have a player's account for any of the major casino groups or that is always where you get the best deal. :club: After that just do some web searching for the best deal.As for specific hotels, your cheapest rates will be downtown, but expect only "comfort inn" style rooms and amenities - except for the Golden Nugget, which is really nice but you'll pay a good $80 more per night for that "nice." Also there is plenty of poker downtown: Nugget, Horsehoe, and Plaza. On the strip, the best bet is to try for one of the less premier hotels. I have always liked Bally's, centrally located and least expensive of the "good" category. But any strip casino will be okay, just some are more luxurious than others and some are better located for getting around. You pay top dollar at Bellagio or Wynn and it aint really worth it IMHO. Statosphere always has deals, but its at the far end of the strip. Poker is everywhere now.Have a great trip!

Yeah, I thought about that too, but I couldn't recommend it because I've never seen the rooms. I really liked the rooms and the service at the Wynn, but if I wasn't getting comped, I wouldn't have stayed. It would be worth it if I could afford it.

Mid Strip, across from Caesars, Bellagio area.Also... April 12th is taking WAYYYYY too long to get here!!

tried to do this for April 7-9, but not available.ended up at the excaliber for the poker players rate of 99 per night on the weekends. That is with 6 hours of play per day at the poker tables.

Ah, sorry to hear that. I think i've also found that calling rather than booking online is better, they offer more stuff usually. As for Expedia... Generally that's true, they are usually the lowest, but not always. If you can find cheap airfare, you can usually find lower hotel rates just through a hotel special itself. I managed to beat expedia w/ my trip.

Budget minded in a good area is Barbary Coast and Imperial. Call the poker rooms (Wynn, Ceasars and Bellagio, etc. ) for poker rates. And of course look at all the travel sites. GL!

You can get the Wynn for 14 nights plus airfare from whenre I am for $850 a person.
From where you am?

Me too, but it's too smoky for me.
Call the poker rooms (Wynn, Ceasars and Bellagio, etc. ) for poker rates.
The poker rates are not usually that good at the higher end places.
