reynaldo124 0
I just got back from my first trip to Vegas. I had an amazing time but I was unimpressed by the ettiquette of some of the poker players. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of nice guys, but there was also some real pricks at some of my tables, more than I've ever seen in Atlantic City or New Orleans. Something happened at a 2-5 NL game at Caesar's palace that reminded me of something Daniel mentioned in his blog about "Nits". There were two guys at the table who were really bad, and 7 or so other guys who looked like they played there way too much. Naturally the two bad players got cleaned out, and after they left, the rest of the players non-chalantly got up one by one, making excuses like "I need a smoke" or "the blinds are coming around too fast". God forbid they have to post five bucks every 7 hands instead of 10. Well before you know it, it was down to me and one other guy playing heads-up. The floorman came over and saw just us two with 8 empty seats all with chips sitting there and flipped out. He made an announcement saying he was going to pick them up off the table, and they all came scurrying back. I'd never seen anything like that before. I really wanted him to pick them up off the table, I wouldve loved to see their faces when they came back and their chips were gone.
flintsword 4
This does happen. The trick is to find a fun table with players that like to play and are there to play. I *never* hesitate to let my feet do the walking and leave any nest of nits fend for themselves, while I look for a real game. There is always a good game going on where you can count on the give and take of proper play to make play both profitable and (important) fun.Congrats for having both the backbone and patience to keep playing for a while, but you are there to have fun (while you skin your opposition of some cash ... hehehe) so don't hesitate to find a better game if you are hip-deep in nits in a game. srblan 0
A lot of cardrooms have a third man walking rule where no more than two people can be up from the table at a time.
