Hey all I had a discussion last night with my brother about this hand. I had a typical calling station at my right and i decide to raise A9o. I think you can fold the flop.When a calling station bets, that's generally a bad thing. It also generally means that they aren't going to stop, so we're hard pressed to continue beyond the turn without improvement.Concerning our "improvement," we are often going to improve to a second best hand. Our pair outs are worth little because they either fill straights or we are already reverse-dominated, completely dominated, or drawing dead. We're getting 7.5:1 for the turn card, so we'd need about 4 outs to continue. I doubt that you have near that many.

Definitely, I love pre-flop.Isolating bad players is major, major +EV, especially the calling stations variety that will give you full control of the betting and pay off all your better hands.

The point of isolating preflop probablly won't work in 1-2. However, I think your position makes it worthy.

My threshold for raising pre-flop tends to be with AT @ 6 max. I'm suprised by your suggestion about raising. Against passive calling stations you need to hit and so have little fold equity. It's not a good idea to bluff a calling station! Also @ 1-2, there's also so many players that don't pre flop raise and so you'll often find yourself dominated by someone limp-calling with AJ etc.
