Poker Dome In Downtown Las Vegas

I don't get it. How is enclosing players in a dome going to change anything? I would imagine they are trying to put a new spin on televised poker but I fail to see how this would make viewing more exciting. Frankly the audience should never come into play anyway. I guess maybe they want to prevent players from getting up and walking around during a hand, similar to what we see on the WPT every week. In my opinion, the players should have to remain seated until they are finished with the hand, in the WPT or otherwise.Sorry to be negative, but I just don't see this idea really taking off.Phlat_________ :club:

I don't like a bunch of monkey business during a critical hand either, but I think people should do what they think they should do when it's real money at stake.I personally think a bunch of activity during a hand is more likely to give your opponent a read than not.The issue reminds me of Scotty Nyguen's WSOP win a decade or so ago, when his HU opponent got up and went to the bathroom after he went all in during a critical, late-stage hand.Nyguen called him on the hand and lost, but ended up winning the tourney, and managed to use some monkey business of his own to induce a call on the end.Anyways, I thought Nyguen's opponent leaving the room to take a leak during that hand was pretty classless. Though, I did think, from watching the event on TV, that his total disinterest in the outcome of the hand and his general demeanor indicated a lot of strength. Btw, Poker Dome sounds cheesy.MontyPS The krablar dance is exempted from my general distaste for excessive extra-curricular activity during poker.

I saw that movie Poker Dome...That was with Mel Gibson back in the day and he was wearing all sorts of leather and whatnot else...it was a pretty cool movie, but Road Warrior was better.

The core concept here isn't that bad (secluded play with an audience) - but building an actual dome for this sole purpose seems aggressive.I'm not sure why FSN doens't just create a temprorary set for this in one of the big convention halls in Vegas (similiar to where WSOP '05 was held, but an even bigger room). No extra red-tape, set up some big grandstands, put the "bubble" in the middle....Lights, camera, action. Poker Dome (sort of).....it could work.

Larry Csonka and Mike Adamle would make excellent poker commentators. Watch out Norman Chad!
just as long as we have lazer and turbo beating the shit out of people like danny nguyen for making donk plays.

It would create a new betting line in Vegas; What's the over/under for number of times Phil Helmuth hits his head on the dome when he jumps from his chair for being donkey played against by an online qualifier.Oh wait you said Final table? Nevermind
