I've always felt that I've never really used them much at all and am not sure the appropriate time.The only time I can think of is when I bet get raised with a possible draw so I just call to see the turn and if it doesn't hit I fire again. Other than that I don't use it at all.Ok a few spots.You feel your opponent raised you on the flop with a strong draw, rather then 3-bet him when your equity isn't wait you decide to just call and bet into him if a safe turn hits.You have a strong hand that is almost always good but rather then 3-betting the flop you decide to just call and bet the turn.In this situation we are going with a stop n go because UTG is trapped between us and the flop raiser. Rather then go for a turn/checkraise which would charge UTG 2 cold we are betting out hoping the player that raised the flop will raise the turn allowing us to 3-bet.
