Try to be more specific. Are you playing limit or no limit? What stakes? Online or live? What is the texture of the game you normally play (i.e. loose, tight, etc.)?
And does your mom know you are useing the computer

This question is very vague, but I'll try to answer it with a general answer. If you are playing limit, don't open-limp (be the first one in the pot without raising) with any hand that you know you will fold to a raise. (Usually) Don't limp with a hand like 78, 910, etc. unless there are players in ahead of you. If you are on the button or right before the button, it is okay to raise with hands like this if it is folded around to you. Don't do it all the time, but in position, you can definitely pick up some extra bets by raising with a deceptive hand.

You should really pick your games for these...Ideally you want to be in mid-late position after a lot of limpers, if it's then raised with a lot of callers you can just call, nothing's changed, if everyone folds then there isn't enough money in the pot and you can just fold. Now and then you might want to call with these without the odds, if you feel an opponent has a big hand then you can go at it strong if you hit and expect to get paid off.Nothing wrong with folding to a big raise preflop, you want ideal conditions for connectors, and you're going to have to give up quite a few bets here and there until you eventually hit.As for limit, double with most Tens and Elevens...

Starting outo play STRICTLY TAG!!! Top ten hands only. If you are enter a pot raise.Try to respect the Gap Concept. You will be dominated less often. If you want to limp cheaply with small/med pocket pairs to hit a set thats ok. But if you dont hit, no set no bet.Start with that. You will make money this way.Expand your starting hands as your experience expands.Read read read. All the books you can. Learn how to calculate your pot odds when in a drawing situations.

The sarcasm in here sometimes is ridiculous. The kid asks a legitimate question and some of you find it necessary to belittle him for your own self esteem. Nice. Feel better? Its sad.

Well Kidpoker,You haven't answered any of the relevent questions, such as Turd's. What kind of game are you playing, limit, pot limit or no limit. Tournament or Cash game. These questions have great bearing on the answers to your questions. I aint gonna question any kid who wants to TP/MM after that UGA kid won the euro poker tour championship but geez, you got five years before you can step legally into a casino, in Vegas at least. All I'm sayin is don't drop out of school hoping poker will bring you up, you'll need your education whether it works out or not.

I like the fact that people have posted if you make the mistake of limping early with a weak suited connector you should auto fold if someone raises behind you without alot of players calling...Whu?To the op: Ask your mom to buy a book called Small Stakes Holdem by David Skalansky for you(it is skalansky right? Been awhile, mostly on top and hfap now)... If she wont buy it then just shoplift. Also, if shes ever feeling lonely and needs some company, tell her to call 555-whole lotta.Gl stepson
