I have a friend who is a regular at this game. He told me that you have to mix it up all of the time in this game. He also told me that you should be tight, but starting hands aren't that important. The swings are also ridiculously huge. You can lose like $20k in one day and be up $50k the next. A high bankroll is strongly recommended.

I believe what he is referring to is that most hands do not include a showdown, therefore factors like your hand are less important, and position and taking the lead are the most important.

so... "aggressive" would be a better choice of words? just seemed contradictory... unless he's saying that as long as you only play 20% of your hands or so, they can be anything random... which doesn't sound profitable to me, but it's way above my roll so I dunno.

The 100/200 on Party is a tough game filled with good/professional players. Anyone who says differently:a)is lyingb)has no idea what they are talking aboutc)is not being honest with him(her)self about the difficulty of the game

When people say that 3/6 can be tougher than (insert mid limit stakes here), are you at all serious? Not 100/200 obviously, but say - 15/30. Because that's insane if it's true.I mean, obviously you're talking about the tougher of the 3/6's - but it's rare that i find one that doesnt have a few weak/tights that are fairly easy to semi-bluff your way to millions against or a live one that pops in to dump a few hundred.

The 100-200 looks tough. It seems that me and Ray Powers cannot agree with respects to the talent level. The sheer agression coupled with good flop play makes it hard.
*shrug* As I have said, its not my regular game, maybe I just have hit good times, but I have yet to book a losing session at PP 100/200, and only once was I getting hit in the face with the cards. If it *IS* your regular game, you probably have a better insight than I do. My average play time was a week night at around 7PM MST-10PM MST if you think that may make a difference.Hoosier, I have a very good eye on skill levels. *shrug* Kind of rude to assume I'm lying, either to myself or others. I thought I prefaced my post perfectly by explaining its not my regular and I have only played it several times, but this was my experience.Ray

You assholes are not worth my time. For your information, I don't regularyly play that high at all. Like ive said SEVERAL times before, I play 10/20 and 15/30 LHE all day, with an occasional jump to 30/60. I was just asking the simple fvcking question about the big game on party. Jesus christ you people are out of line. Don't get mad at me because you are stuck to 1/2 and 3/6. Whatever, have a good time guys. I'm done

OP, with the end of datamining, it makes the game even harder. The main problem isn't neccessarily the skill level(as there are a good amount of donks at that level) its that seat choice just doesn't exist since the waitlists are so deep. If you are also mainly playing 10/20 and 15/30, then I definetly don't recomend trying for that jump. Are you playing 10/20 and 15/30 full or 6 max? If you really want to make a jump, why not play in the 50 game when its good, its easier to find a decent seat and is still decently high and you're not going encounter 20K swings. If you are really looking to play around those limits, look to other sites too to find the good games. Crypto and AP have some decent high games, and the UB 80 game can be decent when there are certain players in it

Just wondering, but ray powers - if you are a high-ish stakes player, why are you posting hand histories in the Thunder Keller forum for .10/.25c NL and 10$ sit n' goes?
I'll answer in case he doesn't see this...He's typically playing anywhere from 1/2 through 5/10 limit (I'm not sure about no limit)...but he's good friends with Keller so he has been staked in higher limit games before.

the guy asks a simple question on here, and once again as usual the clowns are out in full force. Do you guys put on your clown make-up before you type your replies.......lol. Bunch of donkeys on these forums.
this has nothing to do with your post, but nice pic of "el pebe" I am a huge valderrama fan, just wondering if you just have it because of the wicked hair or are you a fan?

I was just responding to the fact that you said the 100/200 game on Party is "pretty soft." That is just simply not the case. Sure, there are times when the game has donks in it, but in general this is a tough game. Another important factor that Keith brought up is seat selection. With the rediculous waitlists at this level, it is virtually impossible to have any say in where you sit, which could often become a problem.I didn't think you were lying, I just wanted to clear up the fact that the 100/200 game on Party is generally not "pretty soft."

Danke Speedz. What he said. I play basically anything with my own money micro/low stakes. Currently I'm having fun screwing around with $20 free bucks on random site to see how high I can get it. On the norm, I play 2/4 right here on FCP with my own cash. When staked, I play between 30/60 to 300/600 depending on the mood of my staker, how many tables, whether I'm being 'actively taught' things or just kind of going on my own, etc.I never claimed to be a high stake player, either. *shrug* I was just answering a question that was asked with what data I have. :)Ray

Fair enough. Keith's comments highlight even more that I was obviously in some freak situational mode when I have played there, since, while I could not pick my seat, the waitlist was not horrible either for me. Ray

I sort of assumed when you said that you've played high stakes poker that you're.... a high stakes poker player. :club: How do you know keller?Think he'll stake me to play the 4000/8000?
