thrillsoft 0
Well, since the "you know you're playing a fish when..." thread was so popular, I was hoping to get some responses from you regarding the dumbest things a poker dealer (who should know better) has said or done at the table?I played Friday night at a club and after missing my 2nd pair w/nut flush draw against opponents top pair, the opponent said "What did you think I was bluffing?", I said "No, I thought you had the K, but I had the nut flush draw to go with my pair. I had at least 12 outs and you were betting 1/4th the pot so I had to call to make my flush, 2 pair or trips."The dealer says "Yeah, but how many outs are you subtracting for the fact that the other players probably folded some of your outs?"I said "None, you can't figure it like that. They could just as easily be holding none of them which makes the odds even better that I'll hit on the turn or river. You can only go by the cards that you've seen."Dealer says "NOOOOO... you obviously don't know how to play very well. You'll be constantly over counting your outs if you think like that."The whole table agreed with him. I just said "OK".
Garn 0
they were right. i mean what kind of fish are you to not know exactly what all players' cards were. you should know that seat 6 was holding the 3h and that UTG had the 8h.DUH!
owise1 0
that's funny. I find a lot of dealers who really don't know the game. Here's one, "Pot odds were created by pros to make them sound smart"or, "it's impossible to figure out the implied odds" owise1
crocd99 0
there is a dealer at the taj who falls asleep while dealing.
mecoble 0
I was playing in a tornament in the sahara. on a king high flop player A bet and player B folded. Player A then flashed a king as he mucked. The dealer who had already made several mistakes grabbed player As cards and said if you show one card you have to show both and turned over both his cards. NOFX_PUNK 0
I had an incident at the final table of a live 5 quid rebuy tourney I was short stacked with 5 left and pushed all in with 66 for about 6xBBs UTG, it folds around to the BB who says 'I'm just trying to work out my pot odds...' which of course means, 'I don't know how to work out pot odds'The dealer tells him you would be getting about 2:1 to your moneyhe then calls with a 7 8 and hits a 7 on the turn, I mean fair enough but the dealer, A: shouldn't tell him, and B: should get it right! thrillsoft 0
At Harrah's in AC, I was complaining about not getting any cards after about 25 hands without playing a hand. Seriously, I had like 8 high the whole time. I wasn't being negative, just joking around with the dealer. Well, the next hand, in a $1/$2 game, I'm on the button. UTG raises to $15, MP re-raises to $45 and CO smooth calls. I look down at A9-off and muck. The dealer looks at the cards and says to me "YOU DON'T PLAY THAT???""Not in this situation.", I said. He says to me: "You must not like money." Exactly. Why do people like this become poker dealers if they don't know anything about the game? Do blackjack dealers advise people to split 6's against a dealer Ten? Do blackjack dealers advise people to split 6's against a dealer Ten?most BJ dealers at the low min tables are more than happy to give a "hand" to someone who's about to make a totally bonehead move - or is about to f over the whole table (or is mulling over whether to hit their 14 against the dealer's 9 for five minutes). See it all the time, but that's a little different from poker....
mrdannyg 274
about 2 years ago - first time playing 5/10 live, and i'm scared shitless, but luckily its at a charity casino and everyone is nuts and/or drunk.as he's leaving the table after dealing for over an hour, to the incoming dealer,"don't worry about problems with seat 1 (nods to me), he didn't play a hand for my entire deal"thanks, ******! CrazyIrish 0
At the Borgata playing 3/6, I'm in MP3. The older gentleman in the big blind has a huge tell, in that he holds his cards in his hand and waits to fold when he's not going to play. Despite the fact that he's the BB here, he has his cards in hand ready to muck before the UTG player even throws his hand in.I look down at QQ, and it's folded to me. I toss six $1 chips in front of me without saying a word. Not paying attention, the Button and SB both put $3 in front of them quickly, and the BB starts to put his cards down and check. I speak up and mention that I raised, indicating the six chips in front of me, and the dealer says he didn't hear me say it, so it doesn't stand. I probably should have asked for the floor, but I tend to be too easy going, so I let it slide. The flop comes 3 4 6 rainbow, it's checked to me, I bet out, and everyone fold to the BB who quickly calls. Check check on the turn, he bets the river and I muck as he flips over his 52o for the flopped straight. That's fine, until the dealer looks at me, laughs and says, "See, I saved you some money." tlane 0
Most live poker rooms advertise as spreading the three basic poker games – Stud, Omaha, and hold’em. I always ask the dealers if they ever spread any Omaha 8 (don’t ask the managers because they will always claim that they do)…Me: do you ever get any Omaha split spread hereDealer(s): NoMe: Can I start an interest list?..Dealer(s): you can if you want, but there aren’t any dealers here who are trained to deal Omaha…Me: really?...what about stud?...Dealer(s): same thing…Not necessarily the dealers fault, I know, but it makes the statements no less ridiculous. ricker 0
I've never seen a thread that has my blood boiling more than this one. It's pathetic the way some dealers think they can act at a table.wow...almost makes me want to stick exclusively to online poker.

NOFX_PUNK 0
I also had an incident where (Admittedly I was being stubborn and rivered a J high flush with JJ against KK I figured he had a high pair but I had 2 draws on the flop as well as my JJ) I flipped them up and the dealer pushed the pot towards the KK! 4 people had to point it out! Kangaroo 0
Pretty standard one, guy has a set and turns it up afte rbeing called down. Asks what the other player in the hand has he says oh not much flips his cards over NOT in the muck and the dealer goes to muck them. The player goes wait wait its a straight this guy has broadway and the guy with the set complains saying they should be mucked. "No more funny business" he demands.anyway the guy with broadway goes on to berate this guy, thats ****ing bullshit i didnt muck them its your job to read the cards. Quite controversial compare dto how carefree the games i play in usually are.
