Guest
well a few days ago, i withdrew everything from my pokerstars account except $60 and wanted to try to see if i could get to a $1000 playing $55+$5 sng's. i got 2nd in my first one so was up to $185 or something then lost, lost, and lost, had enough for a $25 sng, placed, then lost another $55 one leaving myself with like $4 and some cents. before depositing more money, i went to the .05/.10 nl tables with my $4 and just went all in every hand, lucked out and won the first time someone called leaving me enough to play in a $6 sng. i won that, and after 2 days im up to $150 haha. guess i wont be depositing after all unless i blow it all playing limits and sng's out of my bankroll; which i probly will, but will most likely luck out and win $1000's of dollars instead of going bust. i recommend you play a $5 sng. go big or go home. runMC 0
Basically don't be stupid and get lucky. I started with $10 from a freeroll at UB and their lowest limit tables are .25/.50. I did those till $20, won a $5 sng, went back to limit-- rinse/repeat. Got it up to $200, dropped $30 in a MTT, placed 2nd and now have $2000. Now I'm doing $10 sng's and will likely move to .5/1. (don't want to jump too high yet)You can do it.
blakalicious 0
x300gtx, thats just crazy talk. Why even play poker, go buy some lotto tickets or something. You can totally grind your bank roll up at .02/.04 tables in a week to 20. Consider this a way to teach you some skills you need to learn, in a month youll be hitting some bigger limits... but play proper.
Swift_Psycho 1
Doesn't PS have .01/.02 limit tables? That would be more ideal for a $5.50 bankroll.0.01/0.02 limit tables are impossible, because then the SB in those games would be half a cent. I don't think our country has used that denomination of money for a while now. Sorry for the joke. To answer your question, 0.02/0.04 refers to the limits, not the blinds, so 0.02/0.04 is as small as any site can possibly go.
quadaces 0
Best thing to do would be to play the .0000000001/.0000000002 limit games. This is about the highest limit you can afford with your bankroll that you found in the seat cushions of your car!

lilput 0
Play the lowest limit you can untill you have 1k hands played at that limit and 300 BB for the next limit. I know it sounds tough, because it is. If you do it the right way it will pay off.I have turned $17 into $150 playing the penny games and now the dime games on stars. (It took about a week)

Saint Joel 0
i did i similar thing on royal vegas, i started at 2 dollars that i won in a freeroll, and went to work on the .o5/.10 tables for a while, actually built up to 30 then got fifth in a $1 PL tourney and won 64 dollars, the next day i won a $1000 freeroll, so that added $250 more to my account, and now its actually respectible...do that
theben 0
my advice is this:1) take the 5.50 and play in a 5.50 SNG. play to win it all or go broke. if you win, you'll have 25$. if you lose, you are broke.2)if you win, now you have 25$. play NL.01/.02 2$ buyin3)if you lose, go to a site that gives you 10$ free and play there. royal vegas poker gives you 10$ free. noble poker gives you 16$ free if you go through cardplayer mag's website. pacific poker also gives 10$ free i think (its not stated, but they have for some of my friends)Q--how did you get your BR in the first place? if you can't deposit, where did it come from at stars? did you win a freeroll at stars or something? and if yes, what was the payouts? there are more lucrative freerolls online elsewhere
Dolson 0
i also started with 5 buck on stars about a little over a month ago. i played .02./.04 limit until i got 10 bucks, then i played a 5 50 sit and go and won it. since then i am running with it and havent looked back. turned 5 dollars into 1400 in a little over a month, not too bad.so i would suggest taking a stab at a 5 dollar sit and go and if u dont win it grind it out again at the 02 /04 tables . ggriffin 0
i was down to 2 dollars myself pretty recently, i grinded it out at the penny tables. i play the no-limit tables for some reason though, probably patience is an issue. i finally worked my way up to 15 dollars.this is when i said screw it, i'm playing a sit n go. i used smash's idea (think thats who it was) and waited around for the others to knock each other out. i ended up cashing in the last 6 out 7 sng's since then. moved up to .05/.10 tables and have gone up to 60 bucks. it can be done you just have to be patient.another thing i did on the .05/.10 tables was jump from table to table when i made a little profit. pisses people off but why waste 2 hours worth of work to get screwed on the river. put the minimum in there double up and go from there. i may get ripped for this theory but it has worked and i'll see if i can keep it going. funkyworms 0
I suggest learning a game like omaha or omaha/8. Play .01/.02 PLO, the competition is absolutely terrible.

Norman is completely right. Tournaments you don't have very good odds at winning, but you can grind out a profit even at micro limits. I did it, and I'm not even that good so it can be done.
