Weird Middle Set Hand I Just Played At Bodog

Recommended Posts

Have to enter this manually I guess because it's bodog.0.10/0.25 tableRelevant stacks areMe: 19.22P1: 33.56Villain 22.51In the BB, dealt 2 :D 9 :D J :club: 9 :) 6 players in the pot, all limped.Pot size:$1.50Flop:9 :D K :) 5 :club:I pot it, get two callers. I assume that a set of kings would repot, since there is a flush draw on board. At this level, though, anything is possible.Pot size:$6.00Turn:K :spade:Hmm... Now this is either a great card for me or a horrible one. If I was up against two pair of any king, I'm in big trouble. However, I am not as worried about an overset anymore. I decide that a half pot sized bet ($3.00 for those of you keeping score at home) will get me value if I'm ahead or information if I'm behind. My assumption on the flop was that someone had a draw and someone had a decent hand, though I'm not sure what it could be. I hope it's not an overset, and I hope it wasn't kings up.P1 calls.Villain raises to $18.Now I'm stuck with a tough decision. Would kings full really play it like this? I never discount anything at low levels, but I must say that slow playing the nuts is something that almost every low limit player knows about and uses excessively. Neither player is especially tricky, though the presence of a flush draw may have caused someone to wait until the turn to raise a decent hand. I decide that I'm probably (hopefully) up against a naked king and call. I'm not sure what P1 has, but I have a feeling it's something like a straight/flush draw. Also, a hand or two before this, P1 and I had a conversation about how I laid down a flush to his river bet, so I'm thinking that both players may think that I'm either capable of folding a big hand, or weak/tight.I call all-in $14.47.P1 goes into the tank. Finally, he says in the chat box "Well, this is the end of my session anyway..." And raises all in. I don't think he's hollywooding, and neither does villain, who calls immediately. I'll post the results assuming I get some kind of response.Any comments? What do you put the villain on?

Be happy PI called. It makes the hand a lot easier. Clear fold. However, I'd fold anyways.

He's already gone all in. Having played at Bodog, I'd say that you might even be ahead at this point with the trip 9s. With no reads on your opponents, I'd be hard to say whether they'd be capable (read: silly enough) to chase a flush. Think about it this way...there are 2 kings left, 3 fives, and 1 nine. Think about the combination of hand that are ahead of you at that point. There aren't that many. I think you made a good call in that spot. Then again, I'm not so good at Omaha...good luck!

Well, I couldn't think of anything that would have made a play like this that could beat me, at this level, I think kings full usually waits till the river to raise (correctly or otherwise), which is why I decided to call. Once P1 started thinking I was almost positive I was not up against kings full, since that leaves the case king (if it's a tough decision, I'm almost positive P1 has a king), and one of 4 other cards that must be in villain's hand to beat me. It turns out that villain had flopped a set of fives and was vastly overplaying them. P1 had A K J 10, I believe (no suits, of course), and the river was a brick. It's nice to be in games this good, but it's really bad for my play at higher limits because sometimes I forget that you can't make calls like this often and expect to get away with it.

not a huge fan of the call, but after seeing some of the WORST PLAYS IN THE HISTORY OF POKER playing low limit PLO, i sometimes make similar calls.
Yeah, I wasn't crazy about my call either, but I figured, screw it, he fooled me, I'll take a shot.
