herokid7 0
So last night at the weekly home game I play in, on the very first hand of play I got K-J of diamonds in the big blind. About 5 or 6 of the nine players at the table limped in(they all play VERY loose) so I checked. The flop came all rags with two diamonds giving me the second nut-flush draw. I semibluffed 100 into the around 300 dollar pot. I got three callers. The turn came the king of hearts giving me top pair plus my flush draw. So I led out and bet 300 into the 700 pot. The player to my immediate left went all in(we started with about 4000 apiece) all others folded around to me. Now, it seems like an easy fold except I've seen this particular player go all-in on the first hand before and then flip over a 6-3 offsuit when folded to him, in fact I've seen him do this several times. The only thing I was really worried about was if he had pocket kings, but given the info I already had on him, plus the odds against getting kings on the very first hand, I thought he had nothing. So I called. He turned over pocket kings and his trips held up over my flush draw. So my question is, was this an absolute donkey play, or did I have reason to call given my read of him? thatguy 0
I probably would have called given the info you know about him. But I have a feeling everyone is going to say it's an easy fold.
Garn 0
he you know the guy not me. based on your info though it seems like you could go either way. apparently you wanted to gamble a little and it didn't work out. oh well

BeaverStyle 1
ummmfold. I mean, yeah he's a maniac, but even if he has A2 or something that completely missed, you're still behind, even though you got outs ofcourse. I'd wait for a better spot to put all your chips in the middle. just my 2 cents.
centris 0
...plus the odds against getting kings on the very first hand...I am pretty sure the odds of getting kings on the first hand are the same as getting them on any other hand.
Nealyh_02 0
I take the motto live to fight another day. Since the pot wasnt bumped up preflop, someone could have had 2 pairs. I think risking so much on a high pair and flush draw is a little to erratic, but if you would have hit it you would be a magician. :DAlso the purpose of showing you his 6 3, so he would be able to entice you to call a huge bet. DLizzle 0
I probably would have check called the flop, and check raised the turn, then called an all in. who knows if that is right, I think I would have done that though.

InertGrudge 0
plus the odds against getting kings on the very first handI knew you were a donkey after this sentence. I stopped reading.
herokid7 0
I knew you were a donkey after this sentence. I stopped reading.I know the odds are the same for getting kings are the same throughout, I just can't ever remember anybody ever getting them on the first hand. I meant that in a way that my friend told me after the hand, "You could have put im on kings, but what're the odds of getting pocket kings first hand, come on!"

herokid7 0
You sir are my hero.thank youThe more I think about it the more I think it was a completely stupid call. I had only invested about 450 of my 4000 stack, and with the blinds moving up every hour, I know I could have picked a better spot and at least made the money. So i think I'll answer my own question....it was a donkey type of play.

lucky_charmz 0
Call. There's no way you can put the guy on a pair of Kings if he's limping into a 5 way pot. He is the donkey, not you.
