good daniel. hello fellow canadian, ojibwe indian here in ontario :club: in reading your blog, i immediately smiled at the 80,000 at the black jack table and thought to myself wasnt' he scared of being taken in the back room ???especially given your poker reputation, and the strange way you were playing which could indicate a blackjack savant :D. i mean your weren't taking 80,000 from other players at poker, but was taking it from the house. just what i was wondering when you read this :D

Blackjack is so -evI can sit at a 3/6 game, for amounts of money that aren't important to me, and fold garbage for 30 minutes.Put me at a blackjack game and 10 minutes and I'm all in trying to hurry up and make some money.I can't understand how people can play that and keep putting the same $5 bet out there and milk their $200 for hours and hours.Of course when a blackjack player sits down at a poker table, get ready for some action. They want to gamble and any two cards wll work.Scared in a casino? Best security in the world, and $80K is what the casino calls a peanut.

The house can easily tell if he is counting by counting along with him and determining if his bets or strange plays have any correlation to the count, or if they are just odd plays. If he makes a play that gives him an advantage often enough, then they will give him a talking to, otherwise they are very happy to have his action.

Guestimating, it sounds like Daniel might have put a million dollars into action playing blackjack for the evening. His sub-basic strategy play may have produced about a -1% edge. About $10,000 in -EV for the pleasure of the gamble. That amounts to paying $10,000 for an evening's entertainment. Sounds like a pretty expensive way to avoid other self destructive type behavior. Be careful Daniel. :club:

Hitting 12 against a 2 or 3 is not a mistake in Blackjack.
Actually hitting a 12 against a 2 can be considered a mistake in black jack.

Plus last time I checked this is exactly what casinos want, the high stakes poker players to leave the poker room and hit the casino floor. Ask them if they get scared when TJ and Ted come to the craps table. You should hit a 12 against a 2 everytime. Table alwys groans but they are donks if they do

It's practically impossible for a solo player to beat the BJ multideck shoe games dealt these days - often with poor rules to boot. Even with good penetration, a good counter would need to accomplish huge bet spreads to get a decent edge. About the only way it's possible to beat such games is with a Team of low betting counters and a Big Player who gets signaled in to place the real Action. That's what the MIT team did. The casino loves to see a guy like Daniel playing $1000 a hand who gradually increases his action through the evening. What they say when this happens is ...YUM YUM :club:

Yeah, without some other non-counting technique (shuffle tracking comes to mind but I think they use all shufflemasters at the Bellagio), it would be totally obvious to anyone with any clue about counting that he was counting. It would be tough to wong in without anyone else playing at the table and a 1-100 spread would be a slight red flag.

Just realized that at the higher limits they have double deck games at the Bellagio with decent rules. That game could probably beat without team play.

On a more serious note Party Casino is bankroll death.
delete the images for blackjack and sidebets in your image folder. bye bye temptation. and you can probably email party and ask them to disallow those options. i recommend it.
