InternetExplorer 2,609
I know my mattress guy's number by heart. He's going to be sad when I finish replacing all the beds in the hotel. bullshit, you told me you're in the carnival business what's a typical replacement timeframe?
frautotenkinder 1,025
What's it look like? We need a pic. It's reversible.

The Ocho 970
Strat, do you have a Tuesday morning store next to you? That is one of the best places to get linens and bedding. Usually like 70% off for most stuff. I'll work on the shoes next.
The Ocho 970
Hmmm, I think I am going to stop looking at shoes, because if this trend picks up at all, I am scared for Napa http://www.colehaan.com/mens-shoes-oxfords

JubilantLankyLad 1,957
bullshit, you told me you're in the carnival business what's a typical replacement timeframe? 7 years. I'll never be done changing them, though. Just through the first cycle soon. Unlike most things, commercial mattresses aren't as well made as residential ones. But most hotel mattresses aren't slept on every night, so they last about as long. Guapo just did the math and started saving for his next Tempurpedic.

Tiltinagain 973
I am shopping comforters online because mine is not big enough for two people to share comfortably and shocks the hell out of me with its microfiber bullshit. I don't know what a reasonable price is, I was looking at Target and wasn't seeing anything less than $90 for stuff I wanted. I kind of want a quilted one like I had at home, but... I don't know. I might ask my mom where she would look for such a thing. I should go look at Kohl's or BBY. we park at a mattress firm when we eat at a fast food place for lunch sometimes. one of my coworkers one day just randomly says, "they're probably thinking, "OMG A CUSTOMER!!!"" so true. I see those mattress places everywhere and never does business appear to be booming. it's a mob front, it has to be. Presumably the need for the two person sized comforter is due to Ms. Nice. Why not score some points, and get a woman's opinion at the same time by asking her to help you shop for one? Besides, she'll be more enthusiastic about sharing it with you if she helped pick it out. Total win-win.
The Ocho 970
We're agreeing those are ugly, right? We are, but Napa loves oxfords and basketballs shoes. Looks like Cole Haan combined them for him

Total win-win. this seems like a really good suggestion. I am going to figure out a price ceiling ($150?) and let her run with it if she wants. I was surprised to find out that she makes almost exactly the same amount of money that I do. she has a little student loan debt, but that's about it. somehow I save roughly $700/mo more than she does. I got her to create a mint account (showed her some of my charts and she got all excited) and am curious to see what she finds out.
Napa Lite 3,278
Hey, bucko, I dont just blindly follow trends just because some list might say these are in this season. There's no way you actually think I would like those. Those shoes are terrible but they are the logical next step thanks to people who think those awful brown "leather" sneakers and slip-on "dress shoes" are acceptable because they are "comfortable" and "nobody can tell the difference". Total win-win. Edit: I didn't actually read this and assumed it was about the shoes and not the comforter. Totally let her help you pick out a comforter. Counterpoint: Women don't have good taste just because they are women and really have no idea about men's fashion. Strat...give me a day or two. I think there might still be some lingering holiday sales going on.

Has anyone here used You Need a Budget? A friend of mine swears by it. I have month to month money, and need to plan better.

Napa Lite 3,278
Never if you're just going to insult me. Here's a decent option, Strat. The lacing is a little casual for me for a proper dress shoe but 99/100 people won't notice. What size shoe are you? Napa Lite 3,278
The top pair cost $200, the bottom $90 but I found a 20% coupon and so all told it was $250 after shipping.
