They are eating themselves alive from the inside out. They rally during the midterms but I think they are outnumbered during the presidential elections because they alienate the middle. Not a huge deal, but I'm still kinda pissed about it. Other than that I think he's done a good job (especially trolling the sand nigs). Biggest Reps I can think of are Christie, Bush 3, and looney tunes Rand Paul and Paul Ryan. I don't vote, the game's rigged. Have fun in '16 nerds. I think all the people who have to be in fixed are going to get murdered over the next few years however. hell, even people who are just chasing yield in equity are going to get wrecked when rates go up. strange times, when traditionally safe portfolios are now quite dangerous. I love my car because it's an automatic, but if I just tap the console shifter left, it become a manual without the clutch, not to mention a fail safe if I forget I'm in manual and redline it. So much fun 420hp, and honestly the automatic is kind of appealing since I'm in the city fairly often, and shifting would be a pain in the butt. The 2.5 trillion in stimulus spending that occurred between 2008-2012 was a strategic decision on the pretext of 'the economy' and 'jobs' but actually was a golden opportunity to 'do what needed to be done' to address our debt problem, with the added benefit of once-in-a-generation deflationary pressures in place to keep inflation tamped down in the short-term, at least during the election cycles of the people doing the spending. The problem is, if you put 100 people in a room, maybe 2 or 3 would be bright enough to even begin to grasp the basic economic concepts in play here. The other 97 wouldn't stand a chance. The other 97 wouldn't stand a chance. it is true that the government has a strong motive to err on the side of keeping rates too low for too long--risking inflation--because the debt situation is so much easier with negative real rates. we will see how the next few years go. the fed has the tools to fight off inflation, but it has to walk a very fine line. I've not heard of anyone talking about it, but I could see a sort of bullwhip effect happening, where inflation looks terrifying for a brief period, the fed overreacts and murders the recovery by raising rates too fast, etc. who knows. it really sucks for people who need to be in fixed income, that's all.
