David_Sklansky 1,903
I haven't eaten at chick fil a since all that homophobia stuff came up. Actually, since like half a decade before that. But I feel like liberal social values are seen as more noble than knowing I can get an actual adult person meal for less than $7.

frautotenkinder 1,025
so I've never heard of this Ting thing. does anybody have any actual experience with it? specifically the coverage? this topic is actually quite pertinent to me because my parents are both using phones from 2002 that barely work any more but they are on some old plan with sprint that costs next to nothing so they're scared to upgrade phones. they don't know what texting is and would be frightened if they saw the internet on their phones, so talking is all they would need. recommendations? stick with sprint and get a new plan or try ting or something else? My first thought was to get them pre-paid flip phones. Why isn't anyone else suggesting this? Is this not a thing anymore? I haven't eaten at chick fil a since all that homophobia stuff came up. Tiltinagain 973
Before I go...I'm really bummed for my oldest. One of the assistant managers where she works (DSW) has been out on leave for quite a while. A couple of weeks ago the store manager asked her and another girl to interview for the position because they didn't expect the lady to come back from leave. So my daughter and this other girl interview and on Wednesday they tell my daughter she got the promotion. Yesterday they tell her that the lady just informed them that she is coming back so the position they were going to give my daughter now isn't available. She's really bummed. It sounds like their going to do something to accommodate her, and they are expecting another assistant position to open up in the next few months but it still sucks for her. As a father I really, really, hate seeing my daughters disappointed, even though I know it's part of life.

The future is now, old people. yeah it's damn travesty that this whole climate change thing has so severely shrunk the ice flows. Now we have nowhere to put all our old people. Thanks Obama, geesh! David_Sklansky 1,903
You really want to have to drive all the way to North Pole every time your mom's internet connection is "broken," though? If you think they'll be able to accurately describe the symptoms over the phone, you are going to be in for a long night. It took me like 15 minutes to figure out that when my partner's mother said "FaceBook just throws me out of everything," what she meant was that her browser was crashing. Clearly the the other guys will be "busy" the rest of the day after watching that clip. What clip? Good day yesterday. Kids and grand kids came up for the day. Went for 15 mile bike ride with my son and my ass is sore as hell this morning. Debating driving 1 1/2 hours to go in for optional training this morning. Not even in the mood. Ugh Edit- yeah **** that.

Napa Lite 3,278
I know I say it all the time, but low key Uncle Randy is one of my favorite posters. Lost $50 on the Heat losing on a bet I made to appease my boss. Oh, well. Had a calm weekend. Went out and had a few drinks Friday night. Haircut Saturday morning. Hit a few golfballs Saturday. Went to the casino Saturday night with some old work friends. Made exactly $0. Lost like $70 in craps right away. Then made like $120 playing blackjack. And then lost $40 playing blackjack switch. I know those numbers aren't exact but I bought in for $200 and cashed out exactly two black chips. The dealer did compliment my watch though. Yesterday I went through old files and organized some things and threw out others. Met up with my siblings and father for dinner. Friday an old friend from college called and asked if he could stay at my place Saturday for our friends wedding. I agreed thinking my roommate would be home and I wouldn't have the place to myself anyways (BC is going as my date and we'll probably end up back at my place). Immediately afterwards my roommate tells me he's going to be out of town and so I would be home alone and not that my chances of going to Pound Town are more than >5%, it'd be nice to not have my friend there. Thinking about buying him a hotel room as consolation.
