Sickinfo2 291
So, this jeep is gonna be fast? Guess you dont want to corner like you're in a Z-06 in that jeep Enjoyed the post. Will the ac really cost that much? It wont have to run as much Nah, Im leaving the factory three o four, three speed, and stock gears in it. With its short wheelbase and lifted suspension/tall wide tires its pretty much a deathtrap anyway. A guy in vegas put a big block five o two under the hood of a cjfive a few years back.... it would do a donut with just a tickle of the throttle. If two people were in the backseat it would do wheelies at every green light. Fun to run down the strip, deadly on the interstate or twisty roads. Mine is going back to stock more or less. GM silver ice metallic on the body and GM carbon flash metallic for the trim and roll bar. What started as a simple paint job turned into a full blown restoration. I couldnt help myself.... the tub had the usual rust on the rockers so I cut those out and welded in new metal. Previous owner drilled holes around the tub for soft top snaps so I welded those up. Removed the stupid rear corner armor and found some more rust. Welded in new panels and got the body all perfect. Got to looking at the bedliner in the floors and decided to get rid of that, spent two more weeks making them perfectly straight. Couldnt have the old color paint on the firewall so it was stripped bare for paint. Whole thing snowballed into a major restoration like all of them before it... This winter Im rebuilding the engine, tossing the intake, and fabricating a long tube manifold similar to a tunnel ram with a plenum on top for twin superchargers. Welding in a bung on each runner for fuel injectors from an L-ninty eight vette system. One blower on each side of the hood sticking out halfway. Ill underdrive them to about six psi or so...with an rv cam it will have enough torque to idle away from a stop in third gear Next in line is the firebird. It will eat the z for lunch. Vette suspension all around and close to seven hundred horses. Im using the factory hood, fenders, doors, and trunk as molds and laying up carbon fiber replacements. Gonna get the weight down to the absolute minimum. Calling it the "Fiberbird" Look for it on the cover of hot rod magazine in the future.... ...or on the website wrecked exotics, whichever comes first It shouldnt be too bad. Its three phase so its actually more efficient than the old one. The killer will be the outside cooling. Plus Ive already conjured up the notion to cool the pool area. Global warming my ass.... Ill be doing my part to fight it
Napa Lite 3,278
Yeah it's a really fine line with the self deprecating that I unfortunately crossed here at work and so now I get "made fun of" all day and its really to much but the second I push back I get shut out completely and I can't risk alienating myself. YonYonson 156
*goes to power rankings s/s to note "people don't like Essay"* *it's already there* I'm my mind, when I wrote the last line, "they did not invite me," I had the image of Radar at the end of season three on mash when colonel Blake's plane goes down. There were no survivors. I can be very dramatic sometimes. NOTE THAT in your rankings.

Tiltinagain 973
the exchange with tilt pissed me off because I had already backed off of the statement about fireperson comp and admitted that I was way off base. so for someone to come along after and be condescending about it felt heavy-handed, obnoxious, and pointless. I wasn't trying to pile on, I was doing a catch up. I thought about the fact that the subject had pretty much ended being talked about but not for long. Half day or more catch ups are pretty standard. Usually I'm not bothered much by your condesending tone but once in a while it scratches a nerve. A mix of mock outrage and very real outrage. Good point. But he seems to be wrong a lot. Does he seem wrong a lot to you guys? In his latest article about the worst contracts in the NFL, he says Ricky Jean-Francois was brought in to play NT. At 297lbs, he certainly will not be at NT. I asked him about it in a tweet and got no response, AND THAT HURT MY FEELINGS. Zach would have at least responded, I feel. He did play nose tackle as a back up in SF and that's what he was signed to do as a FA. DE in a 3-4 is probably a better fit for him though. But either way they WAY over paid for him I think. Everybody needs to ease up on tilty. Despite it all he keeps coming back and offering advice and telling stories and actually giving a damn. He won me over with his good natured heart. And he's doing a damn fine job raising my kids. Same went for brvy. His persistence won me over. You two really should be best friends, made in sitcom heaven. So get on that. I love irony and the irony is that you're probably right. In real life brv and I would probably be good friends. Yeah it's a really fine line with the self deprecating that I unfortunately crossed here at work and so now I get "made fun of" all day and its really to much but the second I push back I get shut out completely and I can't risk alienating myself. A "yeah well, if you can't make a joke at your own expense...." line to let them know (think) you're being light hearted rather than self loathing didn't work? And, my analysis may be wrong. But I doubt it. Just because you don't want to hear it doesn't make it less true.

Napa Lite 3,278
Well, I guess I disagree that I've complained about how worthless my degree is and that I'm not actively trying to improve in my career. I'd really like to know what else I could be doing, short of going to to a doctor to fix my mental health issues, to improve my career.

YonYonson 156
Yeah not posting has to rank you last. Guapy shared and shared alike, that's good for someplace better than last. This whole system is out of order.
YonYonson 156
Essay, why the CFP? You want to do another 18-24 months of school? I can just take the test after I do an online course (I think). Because of being a lawyer.
Napa Lite 3,278
I ask for more work every damn day Ronnie. And if nobody has any I'm doing CPE. 9 spots?? That's it. You called down the thunder, well now you've got it.
The Ocho 970
I can just take the test after I do an online course (I think). Because of being a lawyer. That doesn't sound right. Why would being a lawyer allow you to be a Certified Financial Planner without going through all the classes and testing? EDIT: I guess just being a lawyer or CPA allows you to test out. Ridiculous. Cha! Cha! 628
Yeah not posting has to rank you last. Guapy shared and shared alike, that's good for someplace better than last. This whole system is out of order. You can do your own power rankings if you want. The power rankings aren't solely about your contributions to the thread. That factors in, but it's also about your general state of being. And Guapo had his wife mad at him for no reason and got stung by a dead bee. That's a rough week.

YonYonson 156
That doesn't sound right. Why would being a lawyer allow you to be a Certified Financial Planner without going through all the classes and testing? Well my dad is a CFP and when he took the exam all he had to do was register because he was a lawyer. Now you have to take a capstone course which can be done online. But I looked over the website and its called "challenge status" and they accept certain education as a replacement for the actuall classes.
Napa Lite 3,278
You can get exempted ify ou have certain licenses such as licensed attorney or CPA.
