El Guapo 8
I had a late meeting with a couple clients who are ex-teachers and very liberal. Even though we have very different opinions we get along very well and can voice our opinions without getting the other side upset. Somehow we got on the topic of high school and I told them about some of my favorite teachers, one being very liberal, yet when he taught you would not know which way he stood on a subject. He let us decide. He was a history teacher.I then told them about my junior year English teacher, it turns out she is friends with her. Then she asked me if I had Ms. Toll for art, which I did. Apparently she is her best friend. I was cautious at first as to how to proceed, because Ms. Toll was the flightiest, most naive teacher I had ever met. As long as you were expressing yourself it was art.A bunch of kids in her classes were making bongs and pipes in the Kiln and she had no idea. They told her they were vases or sculptures. I literally fucked around in that class the entire time I was in it. The only thing I remember making was a mask, that strangely enough looked like the mask from Jim Carey's movie, The Mask, but this was before that movie came out. So pretty much I was cutting edge on my mask making abilities. When I told my clients about the bongs and pipes and they laughed and said "That sound's like Kathy, she is very naive"It was very strange talking to my clients, as an adult about high school and having them know my teachers. Granted it was 15+ years ago since I have seen these people, but I there is a small part of me that is nervous if they go back and ask about me.
SBriand 4
That made me remember my 7th grade history teacher who had vietnam flashbacks during class and finally snapped one day and never came back.

I mean, look at the money and attention that flows to iowa etc. during election years.it was the right decision. I firmly believe that.

Granted it was 15+ years ago since I have seen these people, but I there is a small part of me that is nervous if they go back and ask about me.High School was weird for me as far as teachers go. I was lucky enough to have some pretty cool ones that let me pretty much do what I wanted and come and go as I pleased for the most part. My dad owned a night club and I used to see alot of them there partying, which helped I suppose. It was awkward on both ends. They knew I saw them hammered and acting all slutty dancing but they also saw me tending bar at 17. I worked their alot on the weekends when I was younger so I think they understood I had a pretty "worldly" upbringing and but I always kept good grades in their classes which were advanced classes and they were good teachers. In the end they always treated me more as an adult than the average student and didn't care about things like my smoking or attendence. I was usually pretty fun in class as well giving impromptu lectures on the state of the drug trade in the school or ordering pizzas for the class and having them delivered. Tiltinagain 973
I don't think so. Ever since I voted for Obama my life has made a 180 in the right direction.True actually. I didn't vote for him and wouldn't say my life is better or worse for the most part. I have family that's beenaffected negatively more so than I have by the economy. Other than my house value declining 10% or so. Not that it's Obama's fault really. Allthis started at the end of Bush's term. I just don't believe Obama has done a damned thing to help that's actually worked. And, we won't see the results of much of what he's done for a few years still, whether positive or negative.know why I did it? kansas hasn't gone dem in 60+ years. if you're small, you need parity to get anyone to pay attention to you. speedz99 145
I shadowed the cardiology service this afternoon, and saw some pretty cool shit. What was the coolest of the shit, you weren't going to ask? A dog that had recently been fitted with a pacemaker. Yeah, a fucking pacemaker in a dog. It's a piece of equipment that costs tens of thousands of dollars for people, but the manufacturer donates expired (but still good) units to the vet school. It ends up costing the owner around $3500.
