I Called In Sick Today

I made me some fresh salsa this evening with some jalapenos my mom grew and some fresh tomatoes I got on the way back from the beach. my mom told me that the peppers weren't really hot at all, so I just dug right in and chopped up 4 of them whole and put them in the salsa. did not work out so well.the salsa's actually pretty good, although pretty damn spicy, but jesus, my fingers are still burning 3 hours later after cutting those things. I'm pretty worried about falling asleep and having one of my eyes itch and then scratching it without thinking about it. that would/is gonna suck.
I'd be more worried about ball scratching.

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

that's hilarious. Thats a long friggin walk.Do you mean the first two fights on the under card to two fights starting with the Pelligrino fight?Yeah, you could just tell right away that Griffin was in big trouble Especially when Silva knocked him down the tried to help him up.
It wasn't that bad, it started pouring in the last quarter mile or so which kinda sucked. The first two fights on the undercard-Lennox versus Villefort and Sotiropolous versus Roop. The crowd was really weird-they booed the fighters heavily during these two fights anytime there was more then 5 seconds of inaction. First boo I heard was at 4:44 of the first fight-like, really? Are you kidding me? The rest of the night, during the fights it was very quiet. It was almost like they reached critcal mass on beer and until the Forrest fight the entire crowd was just in that so-drunk-and-tired state that they couldn't muster any cheering.I don't know what you saw on the regular card, but those two fights were good and the rest sucked. The Thales Leites fight was a horrible decision-I would have scored it 30-27 Leites, which one judge did, so I am really unsure as to what the judges were watching. Probably just leftover resentment from the Anderson fight. The biggest boo of the night was for Mirgliotta when he was introduced as the judge for the main. Second biggest was a tie between Anderson and Leites-people really had a lot of hatred for the last fight. Biggest set of cheers pre-fight was for Forrest, but then the fight changed everything, probably the loudest I've heard a UFC crowd as a result of the KO.UFC is kind of in a rough spot right now in terms of having exciting title fights because each division looks like it has a guy at the top who can just crush everyone within their own division. While walking back with my brother I did get my "I told you so moment" and he admitted that the main reason to get Fedor into the UFC wasn't to fight Lesnar.
cab situation is horrendous but you could have just taken the orange line subway. pretty easy to get anywhere from the orange line. but, yeah, they do a horrible job of getting cabs down to the stadium area.
All 3 subway entrances down there were roped off/closed. As was McFaddens. Not quite sure why it was all shut down.
The Irish guys at the dorm saw an ad for a bar advertising the UFC on. They thought the actual UFC fight was taking place at the local university bar. Apparently everyone in Europe is a bunch of retards. Sadly, I didn't have the guys to tell a group of 35 drunk Irish and British kayakers that they were morons and the bar was advertising a TV broadcast.
Snicker. I heard a 7 year old ask that of his parents once while walking into a Bdubs, and the parents took way too long to answer it.

They showed the 5 main card fights and the Nelson/Riley fight, for some reason. I hate fans that boo for no apparent reason, which I refer to as ignorant boos. You're saying that they should've gotten Fedor so he could fight Silva? That's a stretch, no? He's not going to cut to 205 I don't think and people would be clamoring for him to fight for the heavyweight belt and I don't imagine Silva would go all the way up to heavyweight. He's a big 185er, a decent 205er, but fighting someone who's 230 would be pushing it, I think. Then again, I may not know much. I was pretty drunk by the end of the night, as per usual, but the crowd turn was noticeable. I was glad to see it. I like Griffin as much as the next guy, but he was so obviously outclassed that it was obvious you were watching someone special in Silva

I'm glad we're not the only ones who say that. I mentioned it once and people looked at me like I was crazy.

I was in a local wholesale club this evening and noticed a guy with both arms and legs covered with those things....I remember thinking.... "Hmmm.... you know, without all that crap covering his limbs I more than likely wouldnt ever remember ever seeing this crazy guy again"Now this has triggered my memory and I can see the guy as clear as a bell in my head....Is that the point of the whole tattoo thing?Signed,Confused in Hicksville

yeah I know, I was going to grow a garden this year but that whole laziness thing you know. it's a killer. if I had my own rototiller (which we used to, wish I knew what happened to it) it'd be better, but I'd have to borrow one from somebody, and then you get into the whole "doing more stuff" thing.and yeah, I deseeded them but I didn't take out any of the white vein stuff at all. I usually cut up the skins and veins separate (that sounds disturbing) and add the veins as needed, but since my mom so pleasantly said, "oh they're not very hot," I figured, why wait. it's not bad really, and actually, it's probably to the level of heat that I like and always try to get to anyways. it's just kind of a shock that it's that hot from the get go.and I think the deseeding is what is causing the 3rd degrees on my fingers. I just opened them up and went to town in them. usually try to use a knife to get most of the seeds out but naaaaah, who needs that?

Nelson/Riley was actually on the main card-you saw that fight live. Don't know why the breakdown was 5/6, as every other fight I've been to has been 7/5, 6/5, or 5/5, but this one was.I think (and have thought for over a year) that the most intriguing fight possible right now would be Fedor/Silva. Fedor walks around at 230ish-he never cuts weight for his fight, which I often think of as a reason for why he always looks more ready to go than the guys he fights that are bigger than him. Silva walks around (and this is first hand knowledge, I've stood probably 10 feet away from him) at 215-220ish. Fedor attempting to solve Silva's speed and technicality is a significantly more interesting problem to me than him attempting to solve Lesnar's size-we've already seen him fight someone significantly larger than him (who was less skilled than Lesnar, but still) in Choi and that fight was essentially never in doubt-you knew he'd find an opening and use it.We ran into Hendo at the hotel, he's smaller than I would have expected. I shook his hand and said "As a Hamill fan, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for knocking the fuck out of Bisping." He got a pretty good laugh out of that one.

That's really cool, Randy! So what made you decide to get your first one now? I've heard that the back near your spine hurts a lot. But then again, who knows cause I heard people say the inside of your wrist hurts a lot too but I was surprised at how little it hurt, actually.I just got my first tat 2 months ago and it's music related too so we're like twinkies or something! :BFFsforlifesmilie:P1000463.jpg
Ha, I ragged on my kids endlessly not to get one for fear that they would regret it later. Now that they're older I could care less though trying to get a professional job and having skulls and dragons go down your arms does limit the opportunities. I figured thatsince i'm almost grown up now I might as well get one and freak them out, which worked, lol.
Congrats on your first. They are addictive. I have five now (two of which I got when Ren got her first two in Vegas). One of mine in has a music AND a literature reference so I win.
Oh no you don't. Mine has music and literature and the one of the oldest mythological and religous symbols. Oh hell, I'll tell the story. On Rush's latest album, Snakes and Arrows Neil Peart made up the name as a semi-offshoot of the game Chutes and Ladders. The opening linein one song was, "The Snakes and Arrows a child is heir to is enough to leave a thousand cuts" After all the recording was done and they looked to name the album they had to do some google searching to see if the name was available copyright wise.To his amazement they found out that the oldest known game in the world (Hindi) was called Snakes and Arrows and involved a board with pieces and as you moved around the board you achieved a higher conciousness, though no one is sure what they were smoking. :smileythingy:The Ouroboros is one of the oldest symbols as I mentioned and has been used by many cultures symbolizing all kinds of things like rebirth etc.Neil has a bunch of books that he has written and I think an Army gal, babe or something has read them. They are a mixture of travel book/motorcylce tours/ reminiscing and social commentary and pretty interesting books with alot of insight into the songs and where they come about. When they made the arrow symbol Neil kept thinking to himself how the snakey arrow looked like the arrow on roadsigns that were constantly warning him about the danger ofcurvey roads ahead. On the live album they incorporated the same arrow on a roadsign. Neil has a great sense of humor and with that in mind it was a no brainer in picking that as the tatoo. It's packed full of cool references and yet mostly a ton of humor albiet very few would get that part.Oh and yep, it hurt like hell. The pic was about an hour after I got it and it looks alot better now with alot more detail.
Okay, I shouldn't be telling this story, but it's too funny not to. So the African American girl I took out last night is named Nichole. When I met her up at the bar:Nichole: "Hey."Wang: "Hey Nicker."Nichole: "..."Wang: "I said NICK-er."
Oh lord this cracked me up.

I think everyone hates danny because he abandoned us when we needed him the most
I just remember him going from "mildly interesting" to "the worst" in a pretty short span. Somebody posted a picture of a girl who was like 15 pounds overweight and then he flipped out. Is that Danny? Or is that someone else?

haha, that was Timdog. He posted pics of his ex and current wives and Ron remarked that his ex was hot and the new one not quite so...people are ribbing danny for being a wus and leaving after finally got the nookie. In fairness, alot of guys succomb to this let alone a guy that waiteda quarter of a century to get the vag. I also think he had a huge fear that she would discover what he wrote about her in here and well, the midget porn, that too.In reality we all like him, but it's nearly impossible not to bring it up when he rarely pops in anymore. Not ragging on him would be immoral on our part as devout sickies.

I was trying to think if I had anything interesting happen lately, when I was about to close the thread I remember something. My sister in law did not invite us or our kids to her son's 1st birthday. My wife and her are still not fully getting along over the baby naming incident. When we had my son and my birthday a few weeks ago, we did not invite them (or she didn't I should say, because I could care less about those types of things).Megan called her sister to let her know her mom was having a really bad case of vertigo. We were going to be out of town and wanted to know if she could stop by to look in on her. Jamie went right into:Jamie: "I have been meaning to ask you why we weren't invited to Ryan's birthday"Megan: "Well we threw it together last minute and I took your cue that we weren't in a place do stuff like this as a family so I didn't call you"Jamie: "What do you mean"Megan: "Well, we weren't invited to Bryce's first birthday"Jamie: "We didn't have a party for him"Megan: "You had a dinner for him on his birthday and Mom was there"Jamie: "Well it wasn't a party, all we did was have dinner and a cake and had Mom and a few close friends came over"Megan: "...and this wasn't a birthday party, how?"Jamie: "Well its really crappy of you to exclude Bryce just because you weren't invited to his."Megan: "Alright, well I gotta go back to reality now" (I sorta made up this last line, but not really.)-------Mom update: She is doing well. Lost all her hair again. She popped in my office for a minute this morning after going to the Dr. Next round is on Friday.

I keep forgetting you named your son after mine.-------Glad to hear mom is hanging in there. My co-worker who had colon cancer just found out yesterday his 18 yr old niece has lymphoma. Tommorow they are going in through her chest to remove it and look to see how bad it is along with installing a port in her chest to inject the chemo. Sad stuff.-------A few weeks after my last colonoscopy I got a letter from the doc saying he had removed another polyp (he apparently missed the first go round) and that when they got the lab results back it was cancer too! Then informed me to come back in 3 years to do it all again.--------I'm slow so whatever. Deb and I were wandering around a new outlet mall not for from our house yesterday and it was jammed packed. I washanging around outside alot while she was shopping for girly things. Some lady was standing by me and told me I shouldn't be allowed to smokein this mall and that besides killing people it was a disgusting habit.I told her I had the same feeling about fatass woman. They are costing us a fortune in health care and disgusting as well!
