Tactical Bear 3
Then the Honor Guard played TAPS and presented my grandmother with a Flag. If you can go through that live without bawling like a little baby, you are a bigger man than me. It's gets me in movies, live.... Holy Shit is that emotional. When my grandfather passed away last year, I went through the same thing. The honor guard read that "On behalf of the President of the United States, I present to you this flag, commemorating his years of service and whatever" and gave my mother the flag. I am not an outwardly emotional guy, but I definitely had my head down during that part of the service. Then the 21 gun salute, and holy crap. I KNEW it was coming, but it's so violent, and you're already pretty wound up. Good Lord, it was intense.*****In other news, I played in the weirdest tournament of my life last night.Races (including 60/40 type hands): 1-7I ran QQ into an overpair twice in a row AIPF, and 99 into an overpair once. I lost all 3.I never found AA or KK.I found QQ and JJ once more apiece, and both times won the blinds with a standard raise. At the final table, my steal raises from the cutoff or button won the blinds twice, and were shoved on 4 times. I folded to 3 of the pushes, and called the last with TJ. I ran it into AJ and lost.I never flopped a set. I never flopped a flushdraw. I never flopped an open-ender. I never flopped trips. I flopped two-pair twice, both times in multi-way pots where a player was all-in. I never got any action (but always held).I still managed to chop with another guy in a 130 person rebuy tournament. I never rebought, and only took the initial add and the double-add at break. I have no idea where my chips came from. I think I got paid off a lot on turn/river value bets in the mid-to-late stages of the tournaments. I can remember one hand where I had 3s7s in the BB. It was a 4 handed limped pot. The flop came down QJ3 with one spade. Turn was the 2 of spades. I lead out for a 2/3 pot-sized bet, and get called in 3 (!) spots. River is an offsuit 7. I lead out for another 2/3 pot-sized bet and get called twice. Once I played in a 50 person tournament and won without showing a hand down until we were heads-up. That was interesting, but this might have been more weird. I didn't make very many correct decisions, didn't run well or get bailed out, and I still managed to play an active style and win. Odd. brvheart 1,754
I'm taking i-35 up to omaha next week brv, I'll stop by if it adds less than 20 minutes to the drive.Where are you coming from? If you're in Kansas you shouldn't be coming anywhere near Des Moines to get to Omaha. I-29 goes directly from KC to Omaha. If this is true (and by the way driving to Ames from I-35 roundtrip will be very close to 20 minutes) I'm going to camp out at the DQ for the chance to meet Jeff strat. Also, I will be in Omaha next saturday for sure and will be hitting up the Horseshoe for sure. And i did not pee myself tonight.Coming from the south, where you would be taking I-80 west to Omaha, going to Ames will probably add 35 minutes both ways.By the way, anyone live in Lincoln, NE? I'm going there for work sunday/mondayBigDMcGee will be the dude with the massive head.

Randy Reed 0
So I was able to run on the treadmill finally, broken rib and all. Ran early then went to the Chiroquack who made me shave my chest, (crazy Brazilians) so he could tape me up, Anyway I came home and worked in the yard the rest of the day, pics of things. My mom in law gave me a topsy turvy thing which grows upside down tomatoes. I messed around all day trying to find a placeto hang it, and it was pretty heavy with the dirt so after trying everything else I went and bought a 4x4 post and mounted it. Not a funthing to do with a broken rib unless you have massive painkillers that skew your thought processes enough to attempt in the firs place. My new Hummingbird feeder, couple pics. Randy Reed 0
Bird feeder that was drunkenly mounted crooked by the tree that almost hit the house. The goldfinch feeder (all these from my deck) with the squirell feeder attached. Yeah, they still manage.

A girl can dream.I have decided that whenever I get tired of my life, I am going to figure out how to cook some basics. I think a collection of herbs would be 3-6 months down the line if I ever do get started, but when I do: I am coming to you, Mojito.

I suck at cooking on the whole (even though I really enjoy it), but I find that most simple recipes can be made delicious just by adding fresh herbs. That's my top cooking tip, probably. I suck at cooking on the whole (even though I really enjoy it), but I find that most simple recipes can be made delicious just by adding fresh herbs. That's my top cooking tip, probably.I actually just decided to give the cooking thing a try. I have decided to start simple with indoor chicken. I have very little equipment, but I fashioned a top out of a plastic thingy that seemed to be melt-resistant, and poured some olive-oil into a pan, put some seasoning on the chicken/in the oil, and went to town. Somehow I ended up with the most delicious chicken I've ever had. My roomie and I have decided to cook the rest of, store it, and figure out some fun uses for cold chicken tomorrow. I'm thinking there will be a blender and some mayo or honey-mustard involved. We added a little extra seasoning on the second batch, since cold chicken tends to be bland, and we we were planning on adding a taste-diffusing condiment as a base anyway. I will probably not keep you all posted.
