speedz99 145
This week everyone has been all worried about the HUGE SNOWSTORM coming today. I got all excited about the HUGE SNOWSTORM, since I love HUGE SNOWSTORMs, but I woke up this morning to very little snow on the ground. I checked the weather, and the HUGE SNOWSTORM is going to drop about 3-5 inches. Why must people do this to me? "There were times in my past where I let quite a few energy vampires get the best of me, however nowadays I'm frequently in awe of the amazing people I'm blessed to have in my life."Is this about me? It's been a few years, but I can't help but think she considers me an energy vampire. Am I an energy vampire? I mean, I always wanted to be a vampire, but an energy vampire? I don't know. Energy vampires just seem a lot meaner than the kind that kill people. You're so vain. I bet you thought that quote was about you. What about my ex that's a stripper and a phd psychology student who said that she thought I needed more help than some of the murderers in the looney bin she counsels in?I hate psych students. 90% of them are doing it for bad reasons, and 95% of them don't let the fact that they have no idea what they're talking about (yet) stop them from trying to analyze everyone. Oh, and I hate philosophy students too. Man are they useless and nowhere near as smart and deep as they think.I'm cranky in the morning.see this is what I'm saying. you start adding pears and sauteed mushrooms and brussel sprouts to the sandwich, it isn't a grilled cheese anymore. I mean, I can accept using different kinds of cheeses, but when you put bacon and turkey on a grilled cheese then its a turkey sandwich with cheese and bacon. damn niggas.I think that you can add tomato and have it still be a grilled cheese. Or maybe just bacon. I guess it can be a "grilled cheese with something", but it can't have two "something"s. Once you get too deep, as you said, it just becomes a sandwich that's grilled and happens to includes cheese.I really wish I didn't have to work all day today...I'd love to continue this conversation. It's too bad the HUGE SNOWSTORM isn't going to be enough to get us to close early. I wish I could convey just how annoyed I am about this. I was dreaming of a foot or so of nice powdery snow...I was going to have a fun drive home...drape myself in flannel...pour a glass or three of jug wine...make mac & cheese with some spicey beef thrown in...watch something...god fucking dammit, I hate everyone. mk 11
Oh my dear lord does that sound delicious. I'm getting the ingredients tomorrow. So I'm guessing you saute the garlic in the oil, remove said garlic, then grill the sandwich in said oil sans said garlic?the key is to slice the garlic thinly enough that it dissolves in a little bit of hot oil, goodfellas-style. but yes, your theory is basically correct.but that's just for fun. really, the key to the sandwich is the apple, which all of you grilled cheese purists are (maybe understandably) scoffing at, but i've gotta say...a little sweet, a little tart, a little crunch...it compliments a soft, salty cheese perfectly.i'll tell you, one day when meg and i were hanging out at my house, i was like, "i'm gonna make a sandwich, do you want one?" and she's usually a really enthusiastic eater (which is sfhot obv), and she knows i can cook, but for whatever reason she passed. then i offered her first bite, and seriously her eyes lit up like a little kid's, and she was like, "you HAVE to make me one of those."in summaryi rule

Why can't anyone need disappearing in Vegas or Florida or California, someplace I'd actually want to go? It's always Ohio, Manitoba, Minnesota...like I need to be colder. ajs510 122
Looks like the view out my window every single day from late November until early April. It took me an hour and 15 minutes to make the trip in to work this morning, people driving like they've never seen snow before in their lives. Usually it takes 18 minutes from driveway to parking lot.

ajs510 122
As i posted before, this is what it looks like after a snowstorm:Yeah, that sight looks strangely familiar. Kids in Rochester suburbs (not the city, those kids have to walk to school so the city schools close pretty frequently) know not to expect school to close just because they wake up to something like that in the morning. Casey is in Ohio this week for work, she called this morning and said that everything is closed (schools, businesses, etc) in whatever little hick town she's in (Coshockton, something like that). She was just headed out to the little Chevy Cobalt she rented to head to work anyway...lol.
IQCrash 1
Hey fellas,Instead of an 11 week commitment to DNA's WSOP seat idea I thought a week-long Skipament series would be more interesting and require far less of a time investment.Anyway, if you're interested, here's the thread:http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...howtopic=133002

I'm home today until later this afternoon probably, we'll see if I go in or not. I have pics but the reception isn't working. But in any case i'm among the ones hating the Florida peeps right now. renaedawn 1
We had an ice storm this week. That's why I was able to be here during the day. It has passed now but the roads are still crappy. I was off Monday and Tuesday and have a 3 hour delayed arrival situation today which means I don't have to be at work until 1pm today. All paid of course.

Piddle Duck 0
Left house at 9:15 (20 minutes earlier than normal) and got to work at 11:07 (hour and 7 minutes later than normal. We got a good bit of snow but the problem is that all the municipalities have blown through their budget and have yet to bring the trucks out to take care of the roads in many places (sadly every city I drive through to get to work was one of them).I listen to sports radio on the way in and between Zetterbergs 12 yr contract and the discussion of the Lions new Defensive Coordinator they discussed the crappiness that is the road commission. Seems last year we have 26 inches of snowfall and the year before that we had 18 or something. This year at this point not counting today, 48 inches. They budgeted for something more close to the 26. So most cities have decided to let the snow fall and then after it is finally done (which will be sometime around rush hour) they will go work on the roads. That's good. NOT.
