zimmer4141 0
Detroit's inability to score on a full 2-minute 5 on 3 power play was the deciding moment of the game. Once Buffalo killed off those penalties there was no beating them mentally or physically. I actually missed both of Williams' goals, but I was told at least one of them was pretty flukey, maybe both. The part of the game I saw (from about 8 minutes left in the 1st period on) Buffalo held their own pretty well, and Miller stood on his head when they had to. I'd probably grade both teams efforts the same, but goaltending was the deciding factor and Miller was the better goalie. Hasek allowed two goals on Buffalo's first six shots, can't win hockey games that way. I thought it was pretty funny when I 100% perfectly called the way the shootout would go down, from the players that would shoot to the order they would shoot in to the guys who would actually score. I knew there was no way Miller was stopping Datsyuk, kid's just too good with that puck. From what I'm told, Buffalo did get dominated in the first 12 minutes of the game, but I didn't see that part and they obviously recovered quite nicely. You're right on a couple points. Miller played great the whole game, and Detroit not scoring on the 2 minute 5 on 3 was a major momentum shift. Powerplays killed Detroit, I think they were like 0 for 8 on the game. The first goal was a little flukey, but was kinda caused by Miller losing the puck and not being in the position he should've been. Both teams looked very sloppy, but that's to be expected from October hockey.

Both teams looked very sloppy, but that's to be expected from October hockey.Puck takes a weird bounce off the boards = Goalie isn't in position like he normally would be. Just the way things go when that happens, he was going behind the net to play the puck and it took a goofy bounce right in front of the net. He almost got away with it but whiffed on the clear attempt that he only had a split second to make. Buffalo hadn't played a game in 5 days, so that accounts for a little bit of their sloppyness. Detroit had just housed Phoenix two nights before 9-2, so I'm sure they were a little overconfident going into the game. I'm probably just making excuses at this point, but I digress... Shimmering Wang 1
Caveat: This is probably the wrong place to post this, but:Anybody ever play heads up NL freezeouts/shootouts? I play a little h/u NL and LHE when I'm bored, and I'm not even all that experienced, but still win. I decided to sit down while drunk and play some 80/100 dollar h/u sngs, and the quality of play was embarrassingly bad. Anybody else ever notice this? I mean, how often is it appropriate to fold your SB on the button when you're getting 3-1, and I'm raising from the BB less than 25% of the time? And why does everyone try and "lie in the weeds" when it's so fucking apparent that I'm literally raising 100% of the time on the button? Congratulations, asshole, you finally check/raised a flop when you flopped top two, and I'm going to fold with 25% of your chips in my stack already without ever seeing a turn. Oh, and nice job betting out a quarter of the pot there with your draw. Pretty tough break you caught when I just insta-raised with my 94. Idiot. The inability of players- even quasiexperienced players, who may otherwise play good- to adjust to aggression is laughable. Why does EVERYONE seem to think that the best way to respond to a good and very aggressive player is with massive passivity? Thanks for making this real easy, boss. The match may last longer, but now there's a 0% chance you'll win unless you hit set-over-set, or get all in with a gutshot and get there.Wang

Although it doesn't count as venting when you're saying that you destroyed your competition...I think bragging is the word. Maybe not bragging, but you know what I mean. And what I mean is bragging. I've done the same thing when asking if everyone really was that bad at PLO8...and the answer was yes, and I continued to make money there. Until I cashed out. Maybe too soon. I'm rambling again.I don't play heads up, so I can't comment on any of that. All I can do is make fun of you for asking the question. My work here is done.

And what I mean is bragging.I suppose I can see that... though it really didn't even occur to me that it would be read like that. In my mind, it COULDN'T be bragging, because I wasn't winning because I'm good, but because everyone else is so horribly awful. I suppose this is the end of THIS line...
