rocketpoker828 0
You know, what Albert Haynesworth did was sick and despicable. But I do respect him for doing everything right afterwards. If he doesn't have any more incidents, I'll remember his reaction more than I will what he did.I agree 100%.This coming from someone who still thinks Roberto Alomar is an as.shole for spitting in that umpire's face like 10 years ago. zimmer4141 0
I'm currently rewriting a paper that I got a C- on the rough draft for Friday. I'm considering just doing it tonight and not having to take a night off drinking tomorrow. If anyone is really good at English (writing analysis) your review of the paper would be much appreciated. Pretty sure it isn't Naked Cowboy, otherwise, I'm just gonna have to guess..........Speedz?terrible picture removedI can't believe they approved that image.I cashed out everything from stars, and I'm really kind of getting depressed over it. I miss being able to challenge sick thread people to low-limit heads up matches.
strategy 4
This probably belongs in a PM somewhere, or maybe the hockey forum, but...I was talking with MDG tonight about getting together a group of guys to pool knowledge and find the best lines on hockey games. Let's be honest... although the oddsmakers aren't often wrong, they are exponentially more likely to set a terrible line on a hockey game as opposed to say, baseball.I haven't followed the hockey sportsbetting world for very long, but I am convinced that we could find at least a few good lines per week with the sick knowledge we use in our ultra-deep league. I think it would be pretty sweet to give it a shot, even on just a small scale initially. Shoot me a PM if interested.
Dub2131 0
You know, what Albert Haynesworth did was sick and despicable. But I do respect him for doing everything right afterwards. If he doesn't have any more incidents, I'll remember his reaction more than I will what he did. There is probably hundreds of people on death row for heinous crimes that are ten times more repentant than he is, but don't get nearly the pub. Do you respect them to?I'll give him a small bit of credit for not appealing (I'm amazed the PA didn't strong-arm him into it, they must've known the PR would be horrible), but he'll always be a dirty player in my book. And I'm bothered by all the pundits saying "that was an appropriate punishment." WTF? I can think of several people that I'd be willing to trade a third of my salary and a five week vacation to bash their head in. He should've been arrested.
ShakeZuma 585
far too much talk about video games in this thread for my taste. you guys need to get out more.speaking of getting out more, anybody watch the first episode of Lost last night? It's my one guilty gay pleaseure (not counting anal sex with men), and I can't get enough of it. Great show.I just ordered a bunch of protein supplements last night to go along with my plan to put on as much muscle as possible over the winter. I'm gonna get huge by summer. Shaved head, Patera listening to, beefy Shake. Mexico, I'm coming for you (read into that in whatever way you want, I found about 4 good ways).
mk 11
Drove out to my p's house in the burbs last night. Got to see my little niece and nephew. (1 and 2 yrs. old, respectively). I'm not a gushy guy, but they are friggin adorable.
ajs510 122
Bought a fresh litre of Jameson last night and went to my old house to watch the Sabres season opener against Carolina. Between the three of us, we killed the entire bottle before the game was over. It was a fantastic game, and would have been a fantastic game even if the Sabres hadn't taken the victory in the shootout. Perfect way to start the season, glad to hear that Jeff won himself a little extra coin in the process!
Randy Reed 0
Well, packed for Miami and a lustful weekend. :hopefully in Ron's arms:There is still one problem though, Debbi is scared to fly and is a wreck this morning so I guess i'll have to see if she can actually do this. Fear of flying is a weird thing but I guess it's real to her so what can I say. Oh well, have fun kiddies.Someone should warn all the Miami waitresses that i'm coming, i've got a load of twenties ready and waiting.

therrinn 0
Hey Zim, I'd be happy to read over your paper if you want. If there's one thing a UofC education is good for, its for knowing how to write analysis.
Whiskey16 1
Two vodka tonics and a slug of Benadryl, she'll be perfectly fine. This is sound advice.World of WarCraft. Like therrinn said, those games are mostly about social interaction. I don't get along too well with most of the guys on battle.net. The majority of players are males age 14-17, and the few good jokes those people have come up with are repeated ad nauseam.I think there's two people that post in the Army that play that, or something like it. They talk about trading gold and stuff.I don't know. What Mex said about sums up my feelings about it. I never understood the appeal to those games.Man, I just found a great way to work in "testicular fortitude" to my paper, but I'm not sure if I want to or not.How about typing it out normal, and then foot noting it, and in the foot note, you can type "I wanted to use 'testicular fortitude' in this spot, but I didn't have the sack to do it." I'm considering just doing it tonight and not having to take a night off drinking tomorrow. If anyone is really good at English (writing analysis) your review of the paper would be much appreciated.Hey Zimm. I'm a pretty decent writer, and a much better editor. Plus, I went to Michigan. If you tell me the class and the teacher, there's a chance I'll know a little about it, and will be able to tweak it so you're going about it the right way. The only reason I lasted in college so long was because I was really good at figuring out how to please crappy GSIs and professors, and could pretty much get bombed while writing a piece of crap paper at 6AM the night before it was due, but still manage a B+PM, and I'll give it the Wang treatment. I'm a nerd, and really get off on editing people's work. Wang
Ron_Mexico 4,219
You know, in 1989 I dated a guy that played offensive line and had a mullet. Good times. Wonder what he's doing now.Actually, now that I think about it, he did look a bit like you...did you like jerkin his gerkin? You know, what Albert Haynesworth did was sick and despicable. But I do respect him for doing everything right afterwards. If he doesn't have any more incidents, I'll remember his reaction more than I will what he did.In no way can you build a defense for what he did, and I don't think I'm an expert on the subject, but football is a game built on aggression and totally crushing your opponent. It's hard to explain the emotion that comes with wanting to drive your opponents face in the ground for 65 plays a game and then taking the QB or RB's head off. The adreniline is pumping so hard, some guys don't know how to scale it down. Also, we don't know that this O lineman wasn't cut-blocking, holding, playing dirty himself. That plays into it. If a d-lineman keeps goin for your nuts or your throat or your knees, it gets a little annoying and emotions can get the better of you. Remember, football is a game of collisions. It is a violent sport by nature. Don't get me wrong, what he did was inexcusable and shouldn't be tolerated, but I can see, in some small, very small way, something like that happening. At that level, them being professionals, it should never happen, but then again, we aren't dealing with Rhodes Scholars here.bottom line: No excuses, he was wrong. To quote Chris Rock: I aint sayin he was right, but I understand./rant over.send it to me, i'll read it for you. I played a SnG with someone tonight who I suspect is from the thread, but I'm not sure who. Pretty sure it isn't Naked Cowboy, otherwise, I'm just gonna have to guess..........Speedz? A. dont do it Zim, he'll throw a bunch of unnecessary U's in it.B. That is an awesome avatar. I can't stop laughing at it.Mexico, I'm coming for you (read into that in whatever way you want, I found about 4 good ways).lets get it on big boy. We'll start doing power cleans for no good reason. How about typing it out normal, and then foot noting it, and in the foot note, you can type "I wanted to use 'testicular fortitude' in this spot, but I didn't have the sack to do it."that would be amusing, just make sure your professor has a sense of humour.Everything go ok last night? Whiskey16 1
Everything go ok last night?Uneventful.Apparently there was a long e-mail I never received about her being in therapy now. mk 11
that would be amusing, just make sure your professor has a sense of humour. most don't. i'd advise against it. most professors aren't actually capable of doing anything (those who can't do, teach), so their self worth is tied up in how seriously they take themselves and how smug they can be to their students. but you never know. there are some cool ones.
