Flop T42, I check, he c-bets, I push into his $20 bet for $80 more, he instacalls with AK no draw, exactly what I wanted him to fold. Guess it's just not my night.

Most importantly, should I give it a shot? Thoughts?i'm doing it. i'm as certain as i can be that its legit, given all the research that's doable. basically the only way we'll get screwed is if a growing, moderately successful company decides to blow everything for about a million in stolen funds.i had planned on hedging, but with the new line, and my upcoming vacation, i decided not to.i think it only makes sense if your bankroll/expenses are such that $1000 would mean a lot to you, and that taking a $1000 hit wouldn't kill you. for most people working full-time, $1000 just isn't that much money, and similarly $1000 makes up a large percentage of a lot of people's bankrolls.in terms of risk/reward it just doesn't make that much sense in those cases, though i did say i tihnk its nearly risk-free.shmell, i'm off to bed. see y'all in trois jours. MisterB 2
I now have two uncles. Uncle Ron and Uncle Shake.Ok, so I spent a little too much time thinking about the poker idea Mike had a year ago and put it in blog format. Enjoy:http://strategery.livejournal.com/121725.html Ok about the idea, I agree that turnover might be high, but not astronomicially high. I think the problem would be paying your personnel. Whos name would the accounts be under? Probably the players. Would you have a problem entering tournaments? Would the sites think someone is multi-accounting? I think the hours should be 9-5 but 9pm to 5am and that in itself would be troublesome because you have to worry about sleep plans and whatnot. Playing nothing but poker for 40 hours a week + is mentally straining but I think that could be overcome. I think office rivalries are a good thing that would make people work harder to be the best. I disagree with taking players who have not played poker together before. You would have to track everyones stats obviously using PT. Where would they sleep? Would you provide living space for them? I would think a poker house would make the most sense. Give people an opportunity to try the professional lifestyle for a while. How much of the players BR would you cashout? When it hits a certain number or what? Who determines what limits they play? Players im assuming make bonuses in the ammount of percentages of their winnings but over how long of a timeline? Quarterly? Monthly? Weekly? What is the contingency plan for someone who consistently loses? When do they get the boot? Running bad or playing bad who decides? How many ppl could have a piece of the company before theirs too many pieces to too many players? Who runs the house? Do you have an office manager? How many players were you thinking of having in the office? 10? 20? 30? 50? When would the players run into themselves? Cashgames? Tournaments? SnGs? Or do you have departments? Or do you let the players determine what they do with their money? My biggest concern would be getting your profits when trying to pad everyones BR so they could play higher limits and make more$$$ Would Zim be the office favorite? Last longer bets could be awesome. Real quick going back to why I wouldnt take new players, you have to take ppl who know the online game and are winners. Take some new people but I am assuming that after 6 months + you would know what makes a good player but I think that certain individuals are just that. What makes a winning player changes from player to player based on their mental capability and personality. Tilt is tougher on some than it is others. All in all this post is way too long but thats just some of the stuff I was thinking about while reading the blog. Basicially what Im trying to say is yes I would do it in a heartbeat. Im looking for something to do. Give me a place to stay and about 2k a month and Ill work on the solutions and manage some people while I myself play. Guest appearances by Zim are mandatory. I think the best way would be to get 5 ppl doing this and see what happens. See if you could make money off those 5 ppl while them paying forthemselves. 2 User(s) are reading this topic (0 Guests and 0 Anonymous Users)2 Members: MisterB, mkexacty who I would like a reresponse from on my post. RhinestoneCowboy 2
my girl is pretty small (4' 11", <100) and doesnt drink much, so she had a few shots of goldschlager and got pretty drunk pretty quick. she was tired from moving in, but she gets really horny when she's drinking. she has a twin sister, and her and a bunch of other people were over partying it up. my gf wanted to either lay down or fuck, so i went with the latter. but i hadn't really figured out the new locks yet, and it turns out the door wasnt locked, so just as we're getting started her sister comes flying in the room to see my bare ass just about to penetrate. lights on, on top of the covers, it was a good time. the rest of the night ended up really drama filled, and i ended up getting interrupted another time during sex when i was pretty sure everyone was leaving. door was locked the second time. ended up getting lots of good drunk sex later on, and some morning sex, but she felt pretty s all morning. i did make her bake me cinnamon buns. pretty good weekend overall, but it sucks she's a 2 hour drive away from me now. Good luck with that whole "long distance relationship" thing...No, I'm being dead serious. ajs510 122
Adam's first trip to Vegas (Warning, long as fuck, seriously)Thursday, August 31st:Woke up at around 4am, loaded the suitcases into my pickup and drove to the Rochester International Airport for our 6:30am flight. We connected in Dallas/Fort Worth (I think we flew over Renae's house) and I marveled at the wonderous fact that my cell phone automatically changes time according to what time zone you happen to be in. We made our way from Concourse B to Concourse D (those little tram systems rock) and waited around for our next leg of the trip to start. Got on the plane and waited...and waited...and waited...for the plane to take off. About a half hour later the pilot came on and advised us that there was some type of maintenance issue, and the ground staff was checking on it. About an hour after we got on the plane, we got back off, apparently the plane was leaking oil from one of the engines at a rate "double the tolerable limit". Personally, if my airplane is leaking oil at "double the tolerable limit", I always want to find out about it when we're on the ground. They took the plane out of service on the spot. After deplaneing, we moved a couple of gates down to catch our replacement plane. Waited about 15 minutes, then we were told that our new plane would actually pick us up back in Concourse B. Got back on the tram and found our new departure gate...which (ironically) was directly next to our arrival gate. Happily, the departure gate was also right next to a franchise Mexican Food and Margarita Bar. My fiance' and I ordered up a couple of frozen margaritas, drank them, then got on the plane. This time, there were no issues whatsoever, and we were on our way. Hit Vegas at around 12pm local time, got our luggage, and it was time to make our way to the hotel. My fiance' asked me if we should take the Hotel Shuttle or a Taxi, and we decided to check out the shuttle situation first. Once we got over there, we were told by a guy (no doubt a salesman for the shuttle service) that the line for taxi's was about an hour long, and we were better off taking the shuttle. After we purchased our passes (poker chips with the company's name on them), we were told by a passing flight attendant that we had been bullshitted and the line wasn't really that long at all. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now...Got on the bus, which was packed, and told the driver we were staying at Tuscany Suites. As we sat down, I guaranteed my fiance' that we would be the last ones off the bus based on the look our driver gave me (Tuscany was off-strip, everyone else was going to a hotel on the strip). 1 Hour and 45 Minutes later, I was proven correct, but we were finally at our destination. Vegas, baby, Vegas (oh yeah, we watched Swingers on the way there, just to get in the mood). First night, we had plans with my parents to hit up Freemont Street and the Downtown area. I had made dinner reservations at Hugo's Cellar for the four of us, based on some recommendations I had read on various Vegas websites. We hit up the major casinos (Binions, 4 Queens, and the Golden Nugget) in the area before and after dinner, and it was nice to see "old school Vegas" still going strong. Hugo's Cellar is an extremely nice restaurant located (obviously) in the cellar of the 4 Queens casino. We (my parents, and my fiance' and I) were given a very nice corner booth (and the maitre' D was given a very nice tip for it) and we poured over the menu for a bit. We ordered an appetizer called Hugo's Hot Rock Specialty, which is shrimp, beef tenderloin, swordfish, and chicken all cooked at the table on a 500 degree slab of granite. It was a very cool dish, and the shrimp was easily the best I've ever had in my life. After that, we ordered the main courses (I had a crab-stuffed Filet Mignon wrapped in Bacon, which was outstanding) and the salad cart came around to prepare salads with whatever ingredients you wanted, right at the table. All in all, this was one of the Top 5 dining experiences I've ever had, Hugo's Cellar is highly recommended if you can afford to try it out (it runs about $85 per person). After dinner, we headed back to Tuscany to check out their casino. It's nothing special, but they did have a poker room in which I did the first damage to my bankroll of the weekend. I bought into a $3/6 Limit game for around $150, called for the cocktail girl, and started pounding vodka tonic's left and right. I don't remember a single hand that I played, so I can't tell you exactly how I dropped that $150. All I know is I didn't cash in any chips when I left...lol. You would think I would either learn to play Limit poker properly, or stop playing it altogether, but I still haven't learned that lesson. Friday, September 1st:Friday morning, we got up around 10am and headed for the Strip to spend the day. Had breakfast with my parents (Dennys) and did some shopping at The Venetian (I bought a new pair of Revo's, because I had accidentally left my sunglasses in the truck and couldn't stand being outside without them). Casey fell in love with a $500 pair of Chanel sunglasses, but couldn't bring herself to spend the money on them. We considered taking a gondola ride, but there was a long line, it cost $15 per person, I didn't care anything about it, and Casey had taken a real gondola ride in the real Venice, so we decided against. We went to Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden to see the dolphins and the lions and tigers, because it was one of the things my fiance' really wanted to do while we were there. Seeing the dolphins up close was pretty cool, and we had fun laughing at a beautiful white tiger as he cooled off under a waterfall. It was also pretty cool seeing how tame they really are, the trainers and keepers would go right into the cages with them, with no problems whatsoever. After seeing the animals, we ventured over to the Mirage poker room for the first serious poker session of the trip. I sat at a $2/5 NL game, and Casey grabbed a seat at a $1/2 NL game. We played for about 5 hours, and I basically broke even. Casey came away a $500 winner, planning to go back and buy those sunglasses before finally coming to her senses and deciding she didn't need them that badly. Friday night was our anniversary, and I had made dinner reservations at The Eiffel Tower restaurant for the two of us. The restaurant is literally inside of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris casino, with a beautiful 180 degree view of Las Vegas and an overlooking view of the Bellagio fountain show. We ordered two glasses of champagne at the bar while waiting for our table, and then we were escorted over to (literally) the best table in the restaurant. Seating for 2, right next to the windows, with a perfect view of the fountain show. If I had been given my pick of seating, this would have been the table I would choose. Here's the view from the restaurant (crappy cell phone picture):Dinner for me was Surf and Turf, a Filet with Crab Meat which was very delicious. Casey had some type of beef dish, but I don't remember the name of it. Overall, the meal and service were fantastic, and the view was outstanding. Highly recommended, although it's very expensive (about $125 per person, not including the drinks at the bar or the tip). After dinner, we had plans with my family to see a Doobie Brothers concert at Mandalay Bay. The show was excellent, and the venue was extremely cool (the Mandalay Beach). You could basically stand out in the wave pool, holding a drink and watching the show without anyone bothering you, so that's exactly what we did. After the show, we somehow managed to fit 11 people into a rented Dodge Durango (two uncles, one aunt, my parents, 4 cousins and the two of us) and made the trip over to the MGM Grand for more poker. Not very much of interest to report from that session, I played $1/2 NL and basically broke even again. I was basically just playing to have fun, so I was splashing around in a lot of pots, getting drunk and having fun with my tablemates. Here's the view of the concert from Mandalay Beach:After MGM, we took a cab back to Tuscany and went to sleep (at around 3am). Black Saturday, September 2nd:This was the worst day of gambling I've ever had, bar none. Ever have one of those days where absolutely nothing went right, and no matter what you did you were bound to fail? That was this day for me. We started off at Harrah's, because some of the guys wanted to place some bets on college football. I had no interest, so we decided to play some table games for a while, then check out the poker room. I started out the day by dropping around $200 playing that new Texas Hold Em' table game, where you only play against the dealer. We had played this at Binions on Thursday night, and had fun with it. Nothing was really going right for me in that game, I had big hands running into bigger ones and small hands running into better ones, so I decided to quit and play some real poker. Harrahs poker room is medium sized, and is basically filled to the brim with local rounders looking to fleece the tourists. They only offer $1/2 NL and $3/6 Limit, so we decided to both sit down at the same $1/2 table and see how it went. I'm much more comfortable with $2/5 NL, but I didn't want to change casinos so I settled. Dropped about $300 in record time (less than 2 hours) before ultimately deciding that the cards just weren't with me at the moment. Casey was still playing, so I wandered off by myself to see what else was going on. I won back about $80 playing craps, then dropped another $150 or so on that Texas Hold Em' table game. Oddly enough, I barely played any blackjack at all while I was in Vegas, which probably saved me a lot of money. After the Harrah's disaster, we headed over to Treasure Island to watch the pirate show. It's a very entertaining show, lots of cheerleader/stripper type girls running around in lingerie while cannons and fireballs explode all around you. Best free show in Vegas, IMO. We then headed back Downtown to meet up with my family and hang out a little more. One of my cousins wanted to play poker at Binions, just to say he had done it, so we decided to do that too. Binions was another room full of locals, and yet again, they only offered $1/2 NL. I dropped another $300 or so, basically giving the last $150 of it away when my pocket Kings got cracked by a Broadway straight. I knew I was beaten, and still couldn't get away from the hand, a sure sign that its time to stop playing for the night. All in all, Binions didn't impress me in the least. I didn't like the spread they offered, their dealers were surly and not very talented or entertaining, and the floor staff was constantly interupting the game for no good reason at all, shuffling people in and out and basically being a nuisance. After poker, I wandered upstairs to find Casey and see how she was doing. She was back to playing the Texas Hold Em' game again, so I grabbed a seat and dropped another hundred or so pretty quickly. Got up and moved to a blackjack table where I lost another hundred in about 3 minutes. Nothing I could do, the dealer dealt herself a string of cards that was just unbeatable. After that debacle, I walked outside and waited for my fiance' to finish up, and we headed back to Tuscany to get some sleep. Total loss for the day was about $1000, more than I intended to let myself lose on the entire trip. Went to bed feeling miserable and wondering if I really was just worthless at poker, wondering if I should just quit playing for the rest of the trip. Sunday, September 3rd:Woke up feeling better, and decided that Saturday had just been the product of too much drinking and not enough food or sleep. We decided to start the day off right and grabbed some breakfast at the Tuscany Cafe. After breakfast, we headed over to Caesars and walked around for a bit. We quickly realized that there were no games over there for less than $25, and we were still a little shell-shocked from Saturday so we decided to go elsewhere. One of the main things I wanted to do while I was in Vegas was play poker at Bellagio, just to be able to say I had done it. The lowest spread at Bellagio is $2/5 NL, which is right in my comfort zone but higher than Casey wanted to play. She had done well at Mirage, so she decided to go over there and play while I got Bellagio out of my system. We made our separate ways and I got on the list for $2/5 NL. I bought in for the maximum, $500, and hovered right around that point for the first couple of hours. I would drop down a bit, then build back up, all the while giving the table an image that I was slightly reckless by getting "caught" in bluffs. The first big hand I played was from the button against the small blind. I was slightly over the starting stack, and he was slightly under, when I found Q-10os in an unraised pot. I raised to $20, and the small blind popped it up to $40. Everyone else folded and I made the call, putting him on A-K or A-Q immediately. The flop came 10 high rainbow, he checked and I bet out slightly less than the pot. He raised me $100 more and I made the call. The turn was the beautiful Queen of Spades, he bet out $150 and I smooth called it. The river was a blank, he pushed and I insta-called. He turned over a better hand than I gave him credit for, pocket Kings, but I still had him beaten and was up close to $1000. After than, I sailed through the next hour of play, getting pocket Aces on the very next hand to take a $200 pot without ever seeing a flop (raises and reraises ahead of me, I reraised huge and took it down) and built my stack up to around $1500 or so. The only real stumble came when I called an all-in with second pair and a big flush draw to an obvious top pair. I had the other player in the hand (there were three of us at the turn) on the same flush draw, so if I had thought about it a little longer I would have folded knowing that two of my outs were already gone. The river blanked and I lost about $200 on the hand. I played for around 6 hours and finished up with about a $1650 stack, erasing my losses from Saturday and making me feel a lot better about my abilities at the poker table. Cashed it in and we went to meet up with my cousins across the street at O'Sheas Casino. O'Sheas was a blast, it's basically an Irish Pub that also offers gambling. They had a $1/5 Limit game going on that anyone could join, it was first-come first-served so I grabbed a seat at the table my cousin was playing at, and Casey grabbed a seat at the other table. The environment was great, everyone at the table was getting drunk on all the free Guinness and Harp, raising pots with 6 high and just having a great time. We played for about 3 more hours and I lost about $9 total, because the ATM at the table all of a sudden couldn't lose a hand to save his life. Guy caught quads twice in about a ten hand span, and had a literal mountain of $1 chips at his end of the table when I got up. I'm absolutely positive he ended up giving them all back, but we had a deadline to meet my aunt and uncle at Ellis Island to close out the trip. Drunk poker at O'Sheas is highly recommended, we had people lining up for spots at the table because they walked by and saw all the fun we were having. I even ran into some of the guys I was playing $1/2 with at MGM, it was funny to see people you recognize when you least expect it. The last gambling of the trip was at Ellis Island, a small casino located right around the corner from our hotel. My entire family (minus my parents, who flew out Sunday morning) hung around the craps table for about an hour before the table ran ice-cold (set the point, roll a 7, set the point, roll a 7) and we let it go. Casey and I played some blackjack and we each won about $50 before walking back to Tuscany to pack our bags and head for the airport. Monday the 4th was a travel day, we didn't sleep at all in between gambling and the airport, since our flight was at 6:30am and we didn't want to chance missing it. Nothing exciting happened at all, just flying and airport stuff. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend and I can't wait to go back for more. I ended up losing around $500 all told, which isn't bad at all for 5 days in Vegas. I know this was long as hell, but hopefully you guys enjoyed it. Someday we need to organize a true Sick Thread trip, it would be a great time.
