Since we're on sappy dog stories might as well throw mine in too... My dog had diabetes at a young age, around 6 years old. She went blind and it was very difficult to watch. A couple days after she lost her vision we were ready to put her down when suddenly she started running laps around the house like she had a map in her head, it was crazy.Long story short, we gave her 2 shots of insulin everyday for the next 2 years of her life when we decided she wasn't happy anymore and put her down. I was in college at residence when I got the call that she was put down. It's weird how pets become part of the family.Anyhow her name was Casey and I now have a new one (8 months old) named Nola.

Nice Celebratory 30,000 post Gov. On the depressing dog story front, my newfoundland dog Mia (original avatar) is 7. Her birthday is April 22 and life expectancy for newfs is 8 years old. I brought my sister to have her dog Ozzie put down 2 weeks ago and realised I would likely be returning with my dog within a year.

My pets:Dogs - Foley and Shadow (I didn't name Shadow, not my fault)Cats - Hunter, Murphy, Deuce, Pippin (I named them all, Pippin has 7 toes on each front paw, hence the Hobbit name).

I like those names a lot. 'Shadow' reminds me of Homeward Bound, I'm such a sap when it comes to films that I actually cried at that one. Pretty shameful.

That's a nice story. I don't really have any stories about my cats... once Sophie had to have one of those medical cones around her head, that was quite amusing. When Spike got old we had to get him a litter tray and housetrain him again, it was nasty. The rule seemed to be give them a few months once they can't clean themselves anymore, and when the smell gets really bad send them to be put down.

Well at least we've succeded in getting LadyGrey to talk about pussies.

A combination of very few cards and an absolutely horrid performance on my part = Opening Day Blowout. That was the worst heads up match I've ever played, every flop I missed cost me, and every flop I hit he got away cheap. I wouldn't play me again after that, we'll see what happens down the road.

You give your pets such cute American names. Ours were called Sophie and Spike, pretty standard stuff. Next time I get a pet I want to call it something interesting though, rather than the typical Fluffy or Fido.

My grandparents had a newfoundland and it lived to either 12 or 13. Of course, all of their pets had very long lives; they had one cat that lived to be 23.

I'd like to think that a 1st, 9th, and 15th in 5 120 person tournaments isn't all that bad.I forget why I did really really bad in one tournament, but I made an overcall on Theresa with AQ on an ace high flop that I normally wouldn't have made, so that explains another tournament.Playing as Spade in those tournies was close to as easy of a time I have ever had playing the game. The fold equity his raises carried was absolutely ridiculous, literally I would raise twice per round and be shocked if I got called more than 1/6 times. Plus, he runs insanely good in flips so the one final table I got deep in was a foregone conclusion.

Yeah, I don't remember the screenname but I took an ugly beat for most of my chips too. Limped with QJos and my BB raised it about 3x, called the raise. Flop comes J high, all spades, and I have the Q of spades. I check, my BB inst-pushes for about 3500 into an 800 pot. This reeks of weakness to me, so I make the tough call believing I'm way ahead. He turns over KQos with the K of spades, turn is a blank, river is the 4th spade giving him the 8000 chip pot and leaving me with about 1800. I was gone 3 hands later, AJ sooooooted against QQ all in preflop. Like I would ever hit a hand when I start out behind or anything. So I got two phone calls last night, one right after the other. The first one was very good news, it was my friend calling me to advise that he expected the house closing to take place by the end of next week. Kind of amazing when you consider that I only signed the contract and accepted the offer last week. I guess that's what happens when you sell your house to an amateur realtor/professional mortgage broker. Good news there. The next call, about 5 minutes later, was from my Mother, calling to let me know that our family dog has liver failure and will have to be put to sleep this weekend. Pretty much killed any euphoria I was feeling about the house, Riley has been with us for 13 years and is very much a full member of the family. Gotta do what you gotta do though, you don't want your friends to suffer needlessly if there's nothing that can be done. We're told that this is not a pleasant way to go and he will decline pretty quickly. Very sad, I'm going over to their house tonight to say goodbye. Anyway, that's what's going on in Adamland right now.

Yeah, half the fun was trying to imitate Spade and his mannerisms. The first time you were at my table I was just like "who the hell is that" but we talked about it later and I got to kid around with you without you knowing who it was talking to you. There were a few times when you showed up and I got to say "yay, my chips are here!"
