SuitedAces21 2,738
they should, but they wont give up the ticket revenue. it's all the ncaa has at this point, so they are going to milk it while they can and bonus themselves until the money runs out. fritzy i assume you own a home. do you enjoy lawn care? i absolutely hate it and after only one year my yard looks terrible and i just am not in the mood to spend on water to get it back to looking green. but i think im going to becuase i dont want to be the laughing stock of the neighborhood. mrfritz 927
I own a home yes. I don't mind it, but this time of year my allergies are terrible and I'll dread doing any kind of lawn care until probably around June. I kinda lucked out as I have a neighbor that never takes care of his yard so it makes me look good. You need someone close by that's worse than you at it or you're gonna look bad. SuitedAces21 2,738
the guy to right has some green, green grass. he's a fireman and a man who likes to work in his garage with tools. the people to the left are some hippies with little kids so there grass isnt much better than mine. i think im gonna by some grass seeds at MENARDS (save big money at menards) and run the old sprinkler system once they come and do my BACK FLOW TEST, whatever that is. mrfritz 927
oh nice a sprinkler system. I have hedges that need trimmed yearly too, I loathe doing that. I imagine soon enough I’ll be paying someone to do it. McGee probably enjoys some lawn care.
SuitedAces21 2,738
when i was house shopping i balked at neighborhoods with high HOA dues that included lawn care, but i wish now i just done it. though i really wish i hadn't bought this house at all. i dont even know why i did except that it just felt like the time. i guess i'll just sell it in the summer of 2030 and make a little money hopefully. mrfritz 927
What else does it need? I got new windows a few years ago, then a fence. No idea what's next, probably a kitchen.
SuitedAces21 2,738
doesnt need anything but a fence, at least not for me and my life, which involves very little. i knew it was expensive to own a home, but i think it might be worse. i'm just praying nothing goes wrong in the next few years before i can get out and back to an apartment where i belong and will remain until i die at my home desk, dutifuly attending a microsoft teams meeting that could have been an email.
mrfritz 927
It's way more expensive than I thought. You can't die for a long time, this thread needs you, McGee and I just lost brvy we can't go through this again.
mrfritz 927
I just started watching Euphoria, very good show so far. One of those I just skip over forever and then decide to watch tv shows.
SuitedAces21 2,738
sadly i dont think mcgee cares all that much. i always loved him more than he loved me, the RAT BASTARD. i just dont see myself watching euphoria and if i did i'd fast forward through any non sydeny sweeney scene. but i saw a scene one time on instagram or someplace of sydeny crying and acting insane and it was so over the top. she was banging her friends boyfriend or something. just didnt do it for me. mrfritz 927
I have a habit of watching several episodes in a new series and then bailing and starting a new one. It’s probably some sort of social media brain rot. Also watching The Knick and Severance (AppleTV), both enjoyable.

I will start a show a show, bail, and then when I come back to it I force myself to start at the beginning again. I did this several times with the show The Americans. I finally forced myself to finish the whole thing and I’m glad I did because they wrapped it up well. Another that comes to mind that I’ve started and quit a bunch of times and never finished is Peaky Blinders. Boardwalk Empire too, gah there’s so many. I also started doing this with several different fantasy book series, doing this with books is 10x more aggravating to me than tv shows. Gotta just finish them off instead of re reading and quitting several times.
mrfritz 927
I do this with books as well, I'm pretty ashamed of myself about it honestly.
SuitedAces21 2,738
when you have millions of shows and movies to choose from at your fingertips its much harder to give a new series a chance. i started 'Prodigal Son' last night on HBO, because i like Mike Sheen, but i watched for ten minutes and the guy playing his son was just not doing it for me. so i clicked it off. this kind of ADD is almost unavoidable in 2026. SuitedAces21 2,738
at least its not the fridge. dishwashers arent too expensive i think. i might be getting a new job, on the news front. same company but different department. interviewed last week and indications are it went well and my offer is forthcoming. its way more work and much more difficult and it wont even be that much more money, so i gotta do it. its about being able to post on linkedin that i got it, thats where the real glory lay.
mrfritz 927
No way you can turn down a deal like that. What are the vibes like at the different department? That's important too. I wouldn't be thrilled with more work, but if the coworkers are laid back and easy to work with it would make it easier.
SuitedAces21 2,738
its essentially joining the legal department, so i no longer have to work directly with sales people. its been 12 years so its just time for something different.
mrfritz 927
I managed to fix the dishwasher, thank you very much youtube, still going to get a new one though.
SuitedAces21 2,738
i support you divorcing the wife and upgrading to a newer model HIYO! but in all seriousness, i doubt i could watch something and fix an appliance. im completely useless when it comes to that and most anything else. in other news i bought a white belt and i've been wearing it with my shorts and white sneakers. i always wanted to wear a white belt, braided, like the golf pros wear, and i figured im 40 years old now and dammit if itsnt time. feels pretty good i gotta tell ya. might even wear it to work soon. white shoes, grey slacks, white belt, white shirt, khaki cashemere full zip cardigan. just pure class. napa don would approve, he had style. mrfritz 927
Good one! I couldn't pull that off, but damn I like it. I think Dutch would approve as well, he always had an eye for proper dress.
SuitedAces21 2,738
i got that job and a 20% raise. i thought i would have to fight to get 15% but they just started at 20% and i snap accepted. hopefully its not a big mistake, but i can always move back into my old job in two years or so if it doesnt work. shout out to our fallen brothers, this one's for them.

mrfritz 927
I'm starting a no-gi jiu-jitsu martial arts class today, no idea what I'm thinking. I am way too old for this. I'm a bit of a control freak and if everything doesn't go exactly as I want it to I'll bail, let's see what happens.
