Essay21 2,387
Working from home again. Can’t believe I waited so long to start doing this, productivity be damned.
Napa Lite 3,279
A recruiter reached out to me about a position at a credit union. Would be a small raise on base but it has the potential for a 16% bonus. I basically told him not really interested but to keep me in mind for other positions with a higher salary range and also work from home opportunities and not in St Paul which is a nightmare to commute to. As part of a lawsuit dismissal we have to open up a branch in a more...urban...area which is going to be pretty close to where I live (because I’m a poor). Hopefully, there will be some office space and my boss will let me work from there once or twice a week like the other analyst gets to, except we’re selling that branch in July so he’ll probably start coming in every day, which is a bummer because I don’t really care for him. SuitedAces21 2,723
funny, i had a recruiter call me at the office yesterday. i told her i find it gauche to recruit someone on his office line and to send me a message on linkedin like everyone else. she did, and now i'm going to ice her out as a teaching moment. seriously though the job isn't something i would even consider. but still, the balls to call someone at their current job to talk like that. Napa Lite 3,279
I had a recruiter do that to me once, too. Told them to never contact me again.
BigDMcGee 3,355
I respect the guy's hustle. Sounds like you two don't have any hustle, and wouldn't be a good fit for his company anyway.
SuitedAces21 2,723
the job was managing 150mm in accounts. i already manage 850mm. they can't afford a hustler like me.

Essay21 2,387
It would also require me to move to Mobile, Alabama. Enough said on that, I believe.

Essay21 2,387
Just because I don’t want to live in the people’s socialist hellscape that is California doesn’t mean I want to live with the redneck cousin fvckers of the Deep South.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I don’t know if I would be interested in Mobile either. It’s not a very big city. I would absolutely move to the middle of nowhere if the money were right, don’t get me wrong.

Essay21 2,387
I almost bought a new tv yesterday but the salesman at Best Buy didn’t close. I mean I don’t need a new tv, but I want one and a good salesman could have helped pull the trigger. Very disappointing experience.
Napa Lite 3,279
If you’re not buying an OLED from LG than I don’t want to hear it. Some combination of playing fetch with my dog/sleeping on it has made mocing my wrist extremely painful. Fortunately, it’s my off hand, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
Essay21 2,387
Sorry, I’m looking Samsung on this deal. Gotta go with who you trust. When do you move? You got a house right? I’m losing my memory at an early age.
Napa Lite 3,279
I technically don’t have a house yet because the sellers still need to get a house under contract before we can move forward. It’s extremely frustrating and with every day that passes my anger towards myself for giving into these terorristic demands grow.
Napa Lite 3,279
And I’m sorry but the LG oled is so far ahead of everything else right now I can’t in good conscience not fight you on this. That’s how much I care about you. I see them go on sale frequently, too, so don’t let the list price scare you off. I think once I close on my house and get some savings built back up I’m going to start job hunting. I cannot stand my coworkers. I know that’s a risk anywhere but at least I’d be making more and hopefully have a better commute situation.
