InternetExplorer 2,609
Local place has 1oz pours of all the pappy brands for $15 and under. I split the tab with a buddy, paid $23 to try the 23, 20, 15, and the 13yr rye. The 23 and 20 are unique but the oak is just too much. The 15 is just so well balanced, and you would never guess 107 proof. The rye is okay but nothing special. I did end up selling my bottle of 15 for $650. I can honestly say none of it is worth the hype. The 15 is probably the best bourbon I've ever tasted, but I have zero regrets given the dollar figure.
SuitedAces21 2,722
Saw my Oncologist today. Blood work back to normal, no lymphoma showing in spinal fluid, all vitals great. Final chemo treatment Sunday then they expect to consider me in remission. We will continue spinal infusions for a couple weeks to ensure that stays clear then do a Pet Scan (its a machine that scans your body for cancer cells) in about 3 weeks to verify all cancer is gone and/or if any other treatment is necessary but good news indeed.

Napa Lite 3,278
My hairs almost that long, too. Some friends are coming down from the cities for the weekend. Tomorrow we're heading to Omaha to see another friend's new baby. Getting family pictures with the dog tomorrow, as well. If you want on the Napa D Christmas card list well guess what too bad because I don't have your address.

Theraflu 1,035
Went to Cali for the Hindu wedding last Tuesday. Got back Wednesday. Amazing wedding. Hit up San Diego Zoo and Disneyland after. Good times, good times.
hank213 1,823
Decided to take the whole week off. Since Thurs and Fri are paid holidays, I'm getting 5 for the price of 3. Heading to blondie's mom's for turkey day. First one in several years that I'm not hosting/cooking so that'll be a nice change of pace. happy glutton day you sick bastards.
Napa_Don 688
Nice. That's efficient vacationing, Hank. ELITE. I only get thursday off but I'm using a vacation day on Friday to make it a 4 day weekend. I'm being asked to actually contribute to the Thanksgiving meal this year which is a bummer, but at least they're easing me in by asking me to only bring a veggie tray. I offered to bring french fried green beans but my mom had already claimed that dish. Pet christmas pictures went well. My friends tell me the spay clinic where they were hosted was the most foul thing they've ever smelled. Luckily, nobody else was there getting their pictures taken so we were in and out in five minutes. Went and saw my friends and their new baby yesterday. It's disgusting how good of parents they are and how good the baby acted all day. 6 weeks old and barely a peep. Had 10ish beers. Me, not the baby. He didn't get any. They're actually moving to DSM next summer when his residency is over. It'll be nice to have them around, assuming I'm still living here, which, let's be honest, I most likely will be. Setup a new wireless router today. Getting about twice as fast wireless speeds. Nice. Split my first 2 NFL bets for the day. Let's hope for a low scoring eagles/seahawks game, shall we? CobaltBlue 662
Been cruising along with poker again. Won a tournament last Sunday...rarely play them anymore. Been running pretty hot in cash games too. After basically breaking even in September, I won like $2.2k in October, and I'm up $6k so far in November. Still not sure I can pull 2016 past my worst year (2005), but there's a chance.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
I don't really think it's good parenting when a 6 week old doesn't cry. I'd guess it's more luck than anything
Theraflu 1,035
Yes, straight luck. Mine's been pretty great too, didn't cry at all on the plane over the course of 10 hours. I'm not giving myself any awards.
Napa Lite 3,278
I said they were great parents AND the baby didn't fuss at all. Not that they were great parents BECAUSE the baby didn't fuss at all. I will be accepting apologies for questioning my ability to judge for the next four hours.

I know your family is close by but somehow I can picture you just holed up in your apartment eating a Hungry Man turkey dinner and watching football alone all day. I'm worried about you.

Essay21 2,385
Thanks for asking Tilty Baby. On Thursday my mom, brother and I will go to the movies and then eat at her place. We do that every year, go to the movies, it's our thing. Friday I technically have to work, so I'll take my computer over to my Grandpas and wait for my dad to get in from St. Louis. We'll watch Nebraska and eat. So I don't spend it alone. Though it wouldn't bother me to be alone. Doesn't hurt anymore. Weird thing about being alone. First you hate it. Then you get used to it. Enough time goes by it gets so you depend on it. What about you? Got the bird ready to be cooked? 🦃🇺🇸

InternetExplorer 2,609
I am staying in town. My girlfriend is going to some cousin's thanksgiving, and I turned the invite down. The cousin is obnoxious and frankly I just don't value the holiday. She's unhappy, and it's reasonable to be so on her part. But I'm still not doing it.
brvheart 1,752
I fear that someday when you get married, you're going to end up divorced. Sometimes we have to do things because we know that it will make our lady happy. Sometimes those things are horrible.
