brvheart 1,759
Wow. Sorry about all that stuff that went down, Tilt. It is rather surprising that you didn't have time to post. I would have posted WAY more if I was just lying in a hospital bed. Anyway; glad you're not dead. #TeamTilt #BeatCancer I'm already disappointed in the ending. This has got to be top 20 for greatest posts in the entire thread. It's such a shame there isn't anyone left to see it.
Napa Lite 3,279
It's a NEAR death pool. If you die it doesn't count.
Essay21 2,387
If I die, I wanna be a sick thread death pool winner and that's all I'm gonna say about that. It sounds like tilt was near death for awhile there, so not prime posting time. Plus he has family and stuff. Me? If I was in the hospital you guys would be my only lifeline to the outside world, so I'd be posting non stop and telling Ronny I'm not gonna ask the hot nurse for a sponge bath.
Tiltinagain 973
tilt here's some highlights of us on your disappearance. This was great So you've been laying around in bed since mid-June and couldn't post a single "I'm dying-ish" post? Dead to me. I was so sick/out of it that I don't even remember about half of my hospital stay. Even when I started feeling better my eyes were still not working correctly so I didn't watch tv and couldn't read, much less type, on a tablet/computer. I, for one, am glad you're alive tilty. We were up your way today, went to Clementine Lake, had never been there before. It's a pretty neat place. Thanks. LOVE Clementine. Did you go to the lower lake, by the Dam, or the upper lake? In high school and just after my buddies and I all had 4 wheel drives and you could go up to upper lake and cross the river. There were actually 11 different crossings if you kept going up river. Then they put in these huge boulders to stop access to the river. Like, go somewhere beside Chipotle? Just went to Chipotle for the first time since getting out of the hospital this past Friday. So freaking good.
Tiltinagain 973
Thought I quoted your "where's tilt" quotes too Napa. Most of them kinda made me wish I hadn't come back. As sort of a post script to my hospital stay, My company put my on LOA since there was no way of knowing when/if I'd be returning to work. Shortly after getting out of the hospital they had hired my replacement, picked up my car and had me send back my Ipad and Iphone. I am now officially an ex-employee of theirs. Thankfully CA disability pays pretty strong and I actually get more money now than my net paycheck was since disability isn't taxed and I'm not paying for health insurance. Have MediCal for insurance now and since they don't count disability as income its 100% coverage at zero cost to me.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
I'd be $50 that Napa read you lost 50lbs and was kinda jealous of you. Glad you're not dead. Keep getting better My physicals always come back strong, mines the high blood pressure. So maybe I'm next. 18 beers on Sunday don't help
Tiltinagain 973
I feel like it's illegal that they fired you. It was kind of shady for sure. Technically my employment wasn't terminated until after my leave time had expired but they had already replaced me. Truth is it doesn't matter. I have no idea when I'll be able to go back to work or if I'd be able to do that job when I did. My eyes still are not quite 100%, though they continue to improve, so I'm not comfortable driving yet. They did pay me out every dime they owed me in salary, bonus, PTO time etc... and paid for my health insurance while I was on leave. Sounds like somebody is on the government teet and enjoying it #taker I paid into it for enough years without getting anything back so, yeah, I'm ok with it. But also appreciative because otherwise I'd have zero income.
Napa Lite 3,279
I don't know enough to know for sure but sounds like some potential FMLA violations. Have you considered talking to an employment lawyer?

It's a fun little lake, not sure what it would be like in the heart of the summer even though they limit access.

You might get a nice severance. I hope you keep healing well and are able to exploit the poor in new and better ways in no time. I'll be thinking about you.
Tiltinagain 973
I don't know enough to know for sure but sounds like some potential FMLA violations. Have you considered talking to an employment lawyer? Because they are a small company FMLA does not apply. The company must employ at least 50 people (which it doesn't quite) AND it must employ at least 50 employees within 75 miles of (in this case) my work place. Lower lake. We we're on a boat. Folsom is a puddle, so we thought we'd give it a whirl. It's a fun little lake, not sure what it would be like in the heart of the summer even though they limit access. It is a fun lake. There are/were a couple of boat in camping areas as you go up the lake a ways. It's primitive, just a sandbar basically, but theres lots of trees for shade and not many people if you avoid holidays. That said, it's been years since I've been there so things may have changed.

Napa_Don 688
Hey, Tilty, not sure of the timelines but in case you didn't know, I got myself a pupper. He's an almost 1.5 year old golden retriever. Big ole dumb dog but what he lacks in smarts (and lack of owner training) he makes up in looks. Get people stopping us all the time on walks to say how pretty and beautiful he is. If I think they can take a joke I'll say "no, he's handsome" but otherwise I just smile and say thank you, as if I had anything to do with how he looks or even picking him out. He was free to me for pete's sake.
JubilantLankyLad 1,957
"Thanks. Some people think we look alike but I'm sure you agree he takes after his mother." Then walk away muttering about how that bitch left you.

InternetExplorer 2,609
a detail that made me laugh, regarding the NYC bomber. in both instances of his devices being discovered, random NYC people were trying to steal either an unattended duffel bag or backpack. for the duffel bag, the person accidentally disabled the bomb by dumping the contents out.
