InternetExplorer 2,609
I am down 6lbs in 25 days with very little sacrifice on my part. my maintenance based on the numbers is holding the line at about 2550-2600. it makes sense that I was able to be an idiot for the last 2.5yrs and only gain 20lbs. also makes it seem like a lot less of an accomplishment, to have lost the 50lbs+ a few years ago. still have another 14lbs to go to hit my goal, and it's only going to get harder, so I'm not claiming victory just yet, but it's looking very promising. InternetExplorer 2,609
we have this awful left turn on to a busy road to get out of the office park. as I'm leaving yesterday, I end up sitting there for 2-3 minutes waiting for an opening. this guy that works in another division of my company (who I don't really know) is behind me waiting, and he perceives an opening that I am missing, and honks at me. I finally do get an opening, at which point he guns it and takes the left turn with me, parallel to me. it's like, why would you act this way to a coworker...?

Because random people on the street could be packing heat? Also, if he pulled parallel to you over the course of a left-hand turn, you need to get the lead out maybe? And don't give me any of this "he had the inside lane!!" bs. Defensive driving means protecting yourself from these types of maneuvers.

CobaltBlue 662
As someone who has been to weddings on a 4th of July weekend and on the Iowa State/Iowa game day I was way more angry about the holiday. Matter of fact I have a wedding on this years game, too. Dang. Having been to an actual 4th of July wedding, I was quite annoyed by the timing, but it was my wife's sister, so had to go. It was annoying because 4th of July is a big holiday in my family. Was probably the first one I'd missed in almost 20 years. With that said, my wife and I got married December 27th...just was the best time for us. Completely understood that a lot of people couldn't make it...though felt the draw of south Florida in winter might be a good pull.
CobaltBlue 662
Sorry I've been absent. Just got pretty busy with life stuff, I guess. Think I mentioned it before, but looking at other lines of work. Have put in quite a bit of time updating my resume and LinkedIn. Spent an inordinate amount of time on an application for a private school position...where they may easily dismiss me outright. Made myself a little frustrated by perusing job ads that I think I could do...but that all require gobs of experience. Also have given up tournaments as of Sunday. Cash games have gone okay recently...tournaments just haven't.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I don't care so much about the impatient pull-out, just mostly the honking. even if I did deserve it, we might have to work together on something someday. just the dumbest move on his part. I'm not gonna forget it, much as I'd like to.
hank213 1,823
As your consigliere here is my advice: over the next 5-10 years position yourself so he is a subordinate in your chain of command, preferably not a direct report but that it is acceptable. Then, proceed to just pick him apart with snide comments about his inefficiency and minimum level of competence in small meetings. really erode his confidence. maybe even throw in a demotion and/or relocate his desk so he sits in a terrible place (i.e. next to the men's crapper). After a year or two of this, you finally pull the trigger and fire him. As you are escorting him out of the building, put your arm around him and softly say "Honk honk, bitch." it's your only move obv.

David_Sklansky 1,904
Two other ideas: 1) Friend his wife on Facebook. 2) Text his wife pics of that hog of yours. Or even just text them to him. There is no more fundamental way to assert dominance than pulling out a monster and helicoptering someone with it.

There is no more fundamental way to assert dominance than pulling out a monster and helicoptering someone with it. Thank you for correcting my oversight. For the plan to be fully realized there should be some level of cuckoldry or sexual intimidation involved. From sending unsolicited dick pics to full on coitus with the adversary's S.O. Really anywhere on the spectrum is acceptable. One should also not discount banging one (or both) of the adversary's parents.
