I think the most recently added location to my list is coastal Maine, which I've only really decided was a nice place to live this summer, after years of being biased against it by a loser I know who lives there. I don't say this specifically as a directive for any of you to move there, but rather to remind you all that whatever gender I am, I'm human and make mistakes.

Dallas is certainly a big step up from Kanas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, etc.

Did I tell you guys that we had two people leave from the same department in the past month and both of them just up and quit with no job lined up? One of them is moving to the PNW and the other is going to go back pack in the PNW for a month before deciding what he wants to do. And lest we forget I had a friend do the same thing this spring except he ended up getting a job offer in Ireland at the very last minute.

Have you looked into moving to Panama? It would be tough to get gainful employment I imagine, but if you're retiring early, your money would stretch a long way down there, to the point where I assume you could have slaves.

Realistically speaking, I don't think I could find a better overall situation than I'm in currently. Would love to be able to have this life in a place like San Diego, but considering how badly my career started off, I feel lucky to have it at all.

Denver has become a suckhole of western coastal state expats, mexicans, and hayseeds "gone to the city." I used to like it when it was just mexicans but the quantity of gentrifying/entitled/sjw hipsters have really gone way past tolerable levels.

It's extremely unusual for me to be attracted to someone who doesn't have either SJW tendencies, hipster tendencies or both. Places with rich liberal white kids are like Disneyland to me, insofar as I'm also attracted to weirdos who are unhealthily into Disney in adulthood.

i would only do that if i thought things in KC were about to go bad.

 

so i'm at the casino, in for 300, sitting with 800. i look down at two tens, and make it 15. obviously I get 5 callers because its a standard 1/2 game. flop is 10 8 Q with two spades. I have the ten of spades. first position opens for 15, so i pop it to 75. one guy calls all in for 65, another guy calls all in for 77. another guy calls the 77, and then another guy calls the 77. turn brings the spade, and first guy to call the 77 leads out for 100. other guy folds, and i call. river is a blank and guy pushes in 200. obviously he has the joint, so i fold. he said after that even if the board pairs he is shoving on the river. which seems unlikely but still. just pair that board and i'm sitting with 1800.
