I Called In Sick Today

Any thoughts?

Kieran Healey recently wrote a paper entitled "**** Nuance" that got a lot of buzz.

http://kieranhealy.o...****-nuance.pdf

A core thesis of leftism is that 'ideals' should be valued over empiricism- that what we 'want' should emphasized over the much harder-to-contend-with, 'reality'. This naturally creates huge problems when your ideological strain runs contra to everything people can see and observe, so the intellectual defense mechanism there is rationalization. Self-bullshitting. Endless "nuance".

Once you can convince people that an ideal is worth more than what they can observe, you can basically persuade them to believe anything since they're insulated against all evidence to the contrary. A lot of 'academia' has become hardly much more than the apologetics wing for leftist thought; creating the rationales and narratives that the retards can bleat whenever someone points out that their beliefs are absurd.

"OH YEAH? WELL YOU JUST NEVER READ GUNS, GERMS AND STEEL!!! IGNORANT RACIST!!"

The point I'm making about trannies is this.

Of course its absurd to think that the totally sensible boundary- of keeping mentally ill transvestites out of womens bathrooms- should be extinguished in favor boundless inclusion. Pushing the limits of civilized altruism is the goal of every degenerate loser on earth, to see how much he can extract from people naive enough to hand it over. You are well within your rights to assert its ****ing ridiculous. In case you haven't noticed, the backlash against PC has gone from a simmer to a raging boil that's starting to blow over the edges of the pot. As they always do, the idealogues took it way, way too far.

This...

... will be marked as the moment when the right wing backlash went totally mainstream.

There aren't enough queers, college kids and cat ladies to sustain that narrative. The crazy-insightful Christian philosopher GK Chesterton* had a brilliant quote,

'Merely having an open mind is nothing. The object of opening the mind, as of opening the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid.'

What you're seeing in the groundswell for people like Trump, etc, is the American consciousness reflexively shutting itself on something solid. This is in direct response to the left moving from sensible 'equality' to hostile demands for completely suicidal altruism.

* = there's a GK Chesterton show on EWTN called "Chesterton: The Apostle of Common Sense" that I watch whenever its on. I've seen them all a few times by now but still watch. http://www.ewtn.com/...ERTON/INDEX.HTM

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

i got my offer today. they curve balled me by not giving me the job title the guy who left had and giving me the one below it, which i should have known would happen. so that drove my offer down to 80 dimes. but i accepted. it's weird, i didn't get very excited or happy. just another day really.

Made it to the great Northwest in one piece. Traffic out of Seattle was awful as usual. Apparently the Chinese President will be in town tomorrow so several blocks are/will be closed which I'm sure didn't help. I'm a half hour (in good traffic) south and luckily there was a little terriyaki place right next door to the hotel cuz I was starving.

i'm getting promoted to VP, from AVP. but that is more just for show. my raise is more based on going from level 1 to level 2 instead of level 1 to level 3. and if i was coming from the outside it goes totally different because i lie about what i make now whereas here they already know exactly what i make and how long i've made it.

Can we talk about Trans people for a second without everyone thinking I'm a bigot? Yes? Thanks.

I recently saw someone say that if a Transwoman was straight, it's important for her to state that she is trans on her dating profile because if she reveals that she has a penis in person, she might be killed.

This makes my head spin in circles.

If a person is born male and they like to dress up like a girl but are attracted to men, aren't they just gay? (This isn't worded correctly, and I apologize to all T people reading this)

Well ( at least some) lesbians use dildos that look just like penises, sometimes as a strap on, too so...why not be with a guy that has a real penis?

I think the trans community has an amazing publicist. I've known freaks and weirdos my whole life, and I've known only two transgenders. The first was male to female, and I've lost track of her. The second was male to female--and I thought the person I knew (his name was Joey) was just a very small, annoying man. When I knew Joey it was pretty clear he liked speedy drugs, so I wasn't shocked to hear about his death. I was shocked when someone told me Joey was trans--my brain didn't put that together at all. I don't know how far into the transformation Joey went, but the person I knew was living every day as a male.

Other things my brain doesn't do--I can't imagine wanting different sex organs. I find women attractive, I'm straight and I find women attractive. I don't want to have sex with women, but I can see and enjoy the different lesbian cultures out there. I love the genderfvck elements of drag queens and drag kings. It would be hell on earth to me to wake up with a penis attached to my body, to stop being a woman. I have no frame of reference for wanting to change my body so dramatically, for feeling like I have the wrong parts.

Has anyone seen the Amazon show Transparent? Reviews?

It's very strange to me how many hoops we are jumping through as a country to not step on people's toes. I don't want a man, in a dress or not, going into my daughter's restroom with her. What if a transwoman was gay? That would be a man, who thought he was a woman, being a lesbian, but being allowed to use the girls locker room? How is this not going to cause major issues?

I've done some deep diving into hyper-pc social media the past few years, and I can clear things up for you.

The first non-pc mistake you're making, is equating gender identity and sexual orientation. The LBG community facilitated this confusion IMO, by aligning T into queer politics.

In a nut shell, gender is not sex. What gender you are, is not what genitals you're born with, but what gender you identify as. A cis-gendered person, is someone who's genitals match their gender identity. Someone who is transgendered, these do not match. There are also gender queers, that identify with both genders (or neither) and I don't understand that as well, tbh

Now, this is different from a cross dresser or transvestitte, who's gender identity is cis, but like to engage gender play for what ever reason (that reason is typically sexual, but not always).

The person you describe, being born male but likes to dress as a woman, and **** dudes.. That's a cismale, gay cross dresser. A transwoman IS a woman (according to trans theory). What sex she was born with is irrelevant, what matters is what gender she thinks she is. Not in terms of just sexuality, but in all ways.

Sexual orientation is considered separate, and is based on what gender you're attracted to (not what sex). So a straight person (cis or trans) is attracted to people of the opposite gender (not opposite sex). So if you're a transmale (born with female parts but identify as male) and you're attracted to women, you're straight.

The reason for the advice on identifying your trans status, is that surprisingly not everyone is this enlightened about gender, and when Ronnie the Juicehead, Tex the cowboy, or D'Andre the baller reaches down your pants, its probably too late to explain gender theory and you're going to end up with your ass kicked, if you're lucky. Most transactivists consider having a trans/cis preference to be bigoted, but acknowledge the need to be up front about it, as trans people are victimized to a staggeringly high degree.

So, as I understand it, Caitlyn is not straight. She is a self identified woman, who is attracted to women, so she's a lesbian. It would be argued that "Bruce" always was a woman, and always was a lesbian. She simply had not transitioned yet into living her true gender.

The restroom point is one you have a strange ally in. TERFS agree with you. A TERF is a trans exclusionary radical feminist (and the acronym is largely considered pejorative by TERFS). These are super radical, man hating and fearing, patriarchy destroying feminists who are typically (but not exclusively) lesbians. They reject gender theory, and believe that only your genetic sex matters (rare genetic disorders being special cases, most trans aren't xxy or w/e). They consider transwoman to be men with mental disorders. The believe the whole notion of gender is a construct, based on sexist, sexualized, patriarchal notions of gender roles. Ex: By Bruce dressing in dresses and make up, appearing on fashion covers, he does not become a woman, but rather conforms to the male gaze defined image of femininity. That his idea of what it means to be a woman is stereotypical and offensive. (Use of Bruce and the male pronoun is intentional, as TERFS will never use female pronouns for transwoman, nor will the use their female name, if they know the TW's original name)

Most TERFS consider men to be a violent danger to women, and that women need spaces that exclude men, for their own protection (spaces such as women's shelters, women's conferences, and restrooms)and they want to exclude trans women from them. They argue that there is no way to tell a 'legit transwoman' from a rapist who puts on a dress to get access to women. So they have simple test, I'd you have a penis, GTFO.

Their radical man hatred aside, I personally find that their basic arguments are difficult to refute, but the hyper-PC world is well versed in jumping mental hops to defend their position. At any rate TERF vs trans advocate arguments are really compelling and venomous, and both sides are absolute lunatics so if you ever get the chance to watch on twitter, do it.

I hesitate to even give out Twitter handles of ppl on either side of the issue, as the best ones are super insane, and Google themselves all the time, and I really don't need those problems.

If it makes McGee feel better I was waiting for his response. I thought about replying with the whole gender =/= sexual identity spiel but knew I couldn't delve as deeply as McGee and I wasn't disappointed.

Frau, you should consider having sex with a woman, just for the experience.

Wait, you probably already have, once, enjoyed it well enough but knew that it wasn't for you.

Ronny my new boss called me into her office today and said the HR person told her what I said about the salary and that she agrees, but there are internal limits on raises, so 20% was the best she could do. But she promised to take care of me once the transfer was complete.

Not sure why you directed this to me, but congrats either way. More money is more money. I'm sure you'll crush it. But if they don't raise you up, you may have to eventually leave the company to get the salary you desire. Loyalty isn't rewarded.

congrats on the promotion as well. Based on what I thought you told me the salary was a couple of years ago, I thought the raise was smaller than. I would've guess. Either way, good on you my man. More money than I've ever made. Now I just want you to spend it on the stupid shit I would

I wish I'd have read this post, before wasting my ****ing time

You've told me on plenty of occasions that you don't belong here, so I didn't include you. Plus, I think of you and Scram as the same person on both sides of the legal system. You an NU lawyer, and him in need of your services.
