Scroom 436
You can judge a man based on his tools. "Uh, I don't have a Philips head screwdriver" = instant gas chamber. Round them all up and execute them. Now. "Uh, I don't have a socket set" = reeducation camp. If they can't up their game, gas chamber. "Uh, I don't have any kind of power saw" = faggot. While not deserving of death, deserves being mocked. "I don't have a lathe" = can still be a mostly normal man. "I don't own a welder" = That's fine. If you have everything else, we can still probably hang out. "I don't own a CNC mill" = neither do most men, but you should be at least considering where you'll be putting one when you have space.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
Woohoo. Scram would tolerate me. I'm at the lathe stage. I'll check with my wife to see if we have one, or what it is Oooops, I think I lost him with the "check with the wife" comment. That's ok, we can watch MMA together while he decides if my standard Movado is worth killing me for (it's not)
Iphonenkinder 558
Anyone else watching perseid? I did laundry at a laundromat last night (my building's machines are supposed to be off limits after 9:00), and then took a drive. I ended up about an hour north of Malibu, and parked on PCH for a bit and looked at the sky. I felt small--the pitch black and ocean combined with the occasional car whipping by at 70mph made me wonder about the one armed claw armed serial killers. I had thought I was going to park and go down to the beach, but I didn't really know where I was going--I ended up by a small cliff, probably 10 feet. I could have climbed down, but wasn't confident about getting back up. Maybe I'll try at dawn tomorrow?
Napa Lite 3,279
I don't have a lathe but have everything else. I've actually been looking up how to build a CNC. But Scram would still probably send me to the gas chambers for be an autistic who doesn't like one specific pair of his shoes.

brvheart 1,759
Can't be good for the batteries, or your electric bill, or THE ENVIRONMENT, for batteries to always be on the charger A good charger doesn't continue to charge. The batteries go into standby once charged.
brvheart 1,759
So I saw that Wet Hot American Summer had a new show with all the original cast and decided I should probably watch the movie. I did; and I liked it a bunch. Then against all odds, I feel like the TV is a thousand times better than the movie. Really funny stuff.
Napa Lite 3,279
I liked the movie better but thought the "TV show" was great, too.
The Ocho 970
A little late to the party here, but... Makita makes the best cordless power tools out there. There is nothing close, they are light, keep a charge and last forever. I had my first Makita drill finally die (still sorta works) after almost 15 years. There is nothing wrong with Dewalt, but they are glorified black and decker. Probably your best bang for your buck. I order a kit off Woot a few years back and it's still going strong. Impact drill, regular drill, reciprocating saw and a light. Hitachi make a really decent lightweight drill. This is perfect for apartments and small home repairs. I use my hitachi set whenever I am doing something under a sink or holding the drill above my head because they weigh almost nothing. As long as I don't need a lot of torque. Corded drills are really only need when you have a need for a lot of power and torque and are drilling for an extended period of time. Some companies are known for certain tools. Milwaukee make the best saw zall, porter cable makes great routers, etc.

Theraflu 1,035
At the office til 6 on Wednesdays. Not a god damn thing going on. Spent an hour or two researching for the PGA Milly maker on draft kings. Was fun following along last time for the first couple days while I was still in it. Hopefully going with slightly less risk this time. Streb 4 life.
