and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles has got to one of the best comedies of all time.  Even with the sappy stuff.

I owned some at one point and then sold it off when consolidating and taking a profit. I'm not fundamentally opposed to it, though I'm skeptical of why it has such a comparatively high market cap when it's largely theoretical value as far I know. (I haven't done a deep dive...I think I heard their network is functioning.)

Suited, I'm annoyed at you the most.  You should be posting more.

Ronny ruined the thread, not my fault!

but there’s literally nothing happening. I did rearrange the furniture in my apartment. Which was fun. Killed and evening last week. But with no more regular cable I could move the tv to in front of the window and open up a lot of space. So now I’m shopping for a new sofa.

work is the same as ever. Boring and awful. But it pays the bills.

im at the casino playing a little poker right now. Just like to get out of the house some nights. Working from home can drive a man crazy.

I haven't been to a casino in a long long time.  Probably at least 10 years.

My dad died a little over a month ago from covid. I assure you he’d still be here today if he hadn’t caught it. I haven’t been able to stomach coming back here to just see more posts about how it’s not a big deal. So that’s where I’ve been. Consider me triggered.

Well, that's super horrible.  Sorry Napa.

This place should have been a.refuge for you during this difficult time and I'm sorry that I was a reason that it wasn't.  Forgive me for my insensitivity.

sorry for your loss, nap. none of us said any one death is not a big deal to the family, but when you're talking policy for 400 million people the individual feelings of the deceased's family members can't take precedence over the data.

my aunt has been in the hospital for over a month with covid. she might not get out. that doesn't change my feelings on our national response.  my mother will be devastated to lose her older sister, my grandmother to lose her first born child two years after losing her husband of 60 plus years.

but the saddest fact of life is we're all going to die someday. i can only hope you did everything with your father you could while he was still here and that those loved ones who remain won't go a day without knowing how you feel about that. life is short and precious, so enjoy it while you can. do what makes you happy while you can. and maybe pray that brvy is right and you'll see him again soon. I hope that is the case.

Seems inaccurate!

The NCAA tourney is this weekend.  Best sports weekend of the year.

Im trying to get through all the best picture nominees.  Nomadland was a waste of time.  The acting was great, but I didn't care about anyone in the movie at all.

Sound of Metal was super fantastic and if the lead actor Riz Ahmed doesn't win best actor I will be shocked.  It's about a drummer who loses his hearing.

I also recently watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople.  Super fantastic.

The most recent TV show I've watched through is Barry, which I love.  It's the 2nd time I've watched through both seasons.  I am so sad it's taken them so long to get season 3 out.  Have you seen Ozark, Suited?

of course i've seen Ozark, i'm not some loser who hasn't seen Ozark. i was probably the first person to see it, i'm very important and special.

as for the oscars, were there even any movies released last year. i never heard of any of that shit. probably pure garbage.

I work in “healthcare” but am obviously not a priority in that group but I was randomly selected to get the JJ vaccine when the state first got it a few weeks ago. Probably one of of the first 50k people in the US to get it. My arm was sore the night after the shot but otherwise no side effects. Also saving a bundle on electric since I no longer need lamps at night

I’m glad people are choosing to get a shot when they can.

Funny news on the vaccine front.  I am scheduled to get the J&J shot tomorrow at 6:30pm.  An hour ago, my wife tested positive.  I don't know what that means for me, but I think it almost certainly means that I can now not get the shot.

I'm getting tested this AM, but I almost certainly caught the rona from my wife.  I woke up this morning and my lungs hurt and I'm coughing.

Are you serious?  I was going to get vaccinated TODAY.  Sonofa...
