I Called In Sick Today

Coworker tested negative. I think this scare has really set back the timetable for us being back in the office.

Probably meeting up with the cute Asian girl for lunch today. We talked for a bit over FaceTime last night, she was talking about the train wreck that is her online dating inbox. Said some Asian guy gave her a stern warning about getting involved with white guys.

i guess i have to come to grips with the fact that my job can be done from anywhere so long as i have WIFI and my cell phone. and i think it may actually be working better for the clients too, they get more calls from the teams now than before since everyone is home and not wasting as much time with other office things we don't need. I'm hoping the Bank will let me go WFH forever so i can keep this job and move to vegas.

it really is sad what women have to deal with on these things. even beyond the dick pics and general dbags you got morons coming in with racial guilt as well. hope you have a nice lunch my man.

I would feel so uneasy about going full WFH. My company still thinks it’s all BS and anyone working from home is really just taking unapproved PTO. So to then make the jump to Vegas alongside it, I couldn’t do that.

The girl has been pretty lighthearted about the shenanigans on the dating sites, making fun of the lazy attempts. We hung out for a few hours earlier, met at an OK restaurant for lunch. She hasn’t really explored the town yet. I had been talking up this nice neighborhood, and she seemed curious, so I played tour guide to close out the lunch. She loved it. Seems like a really solid girl. I’m just trying to figure out if I want to date someone with a kid, even with all the other positives. It’s going to be hard.

thanks, not sure that is true. but even if it is my personality more than cancels it out.

i dont feel uneasy anymore about WFH. i think it is the future. the bank is saving huge money not letting us travel, take clients out and finding that most of the clients dont care at all. but i'm gonna play it safe at least through the winter. 

one of the ladies at work tried to set me up with a friend last year. the friend was 40 with a 14 year old kid. i had to pass on that. i'm not going older than me, and certainly not getting involved with a lady with a teenager. i'm far too immature for that. but if the kid is young, and the dad is in the picture on good terms, i think it's something i will have to accept.

the friend works at my co-workers husband's office (Dental assistant) and said something about me after she cleaned my teeth. i said i wasn't ready to start dating because its dangerous to tell a lady in her 40s that a 40 year old is too old for me. 

another lady i worked with is a big democrat, and she is on a progressive council or something. anyways, they were having an event at the casino back in february, and she texted me as she knows i am up there most saturdays. i happened to be there so i went down to see her and she introduced me to her friend. her friend was very attractive, and very drunk. long story short i hung with them off an on throughout the night, but decided not to pursue the attractive friend when she told me her politics were LEFT of bernie. i mean that's not gonna work for me. the freind did text me the next week looking to go out. i told her i had just broken up with someone. maybe i should just be honest but damn if it isnt hard to tell people the stone cold truth.

Well in that case she worked in politics, so her professional and personal life involved politics at every level. And I am decidedly not left if bernie, so I just don’t see how that works in 2020.

Girl came over to watch a movie last night. Did some stuff, which was fun, and we are exclusive now I guess. She is so hot, and nice as can be. This was a big upset in my favor.

Thanks, we will see where it goes. She is a great texting buddy throughout the day, isn’t being needy, etc. Always have to remind myself that we are both going to be on our best behavior at this point, and pretty much any two people can look like a good couple for a few weeks.

I never thought I would write these words here, but my wine rack was delivered today. I have gotten into wine for some reason, and I was tired of it sitting around in trashy looking boxes. Mostly cab and merlot.

I’m with essay.  There is no chance I could date an ardent Trump supporter.  He is a vile human being and anyone that actively supports him is likely shitty in some form or another.  
 

 

someone who is politics all the time would be annoying as well, and self described left of Bernie doesn’t sound like a fun experience either.

yeah im obviously a conservative, but i would find it very difficult to be with someone that was a huge trump supporter. i can't even imagine that. i would prefer that to a huge bernie person, but not by much.

If the person has no ability to shut up about politics, I guess that would bother me. I’m just close enough to the center that I can get along with almost anyone.

SA, did a bunch of people in your work vicinity randomly take this week off, or a portion of it? It feels like this year is going to be a productivity disaster, because nobody actually used PTO up to this point, but there was plenty of not working going on. So, the sanctioned time off is all going to hit in the last few months of the year.

oh you better believe it. i got no more than 20 emails yesterday and a normal day is around 200. i have some time off later this month, but stll have 4 weeks to use up after that. our managers are all freaking out that if we do go back to the office people are just going use it all then. my boss told me that i needed to get my planned days off to her this week, same for everyone else, so she can make sure we'll have proper coverage later in the year.

I’ve been pretty honest about my PTO, everybody understood that I would be less productive with what was going on personally, but I still felt like I needed to burn some days.

Nowadays I am less productive because this girl is getting most of my attention. She’s coming over again tonight, has dropped some hints about what she wants to do. I have so many regrets about the years I spent not doing this.

Anyone that chooses to wear any political gear like a maga hat or a Bernie shirt would be really hard for me to be with.  I prefer my politics to be in self-controlled discussion form instead of inciteful(sp?).
