and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Sorry I've been gone this week. I'm on Spring break, and when I'm not at work I forget to make time to check this place. I'm actually taking PTO next week too, and I'm off until April 6th.

I'll do it for 50 bucks.

You're a liar. I wouldn't do it for less than 2 grand. (I was going to say 5, but I think I could be pressured down to 2)

Anyone watching this SCOTUS confirmation hearing? Gorsuch is an impressive guy.

Yes, and agreed.

I recently went to a barbershop, like, not one with a bunch of old white guys, but one with a bunch of Spanish dudes working it. Lots of brown customers edging in their beard, etc

Best experience I've had in years. They talked the entire time, but not to me, to each other. Lots of foul language and off color jokes. I will go back

This I my dream scenario. Lots of people and interesting activity around me, but no one interacting with me at all. It's why I love walking around downtown Chicago.

i'm gonna be rock hard until Saturday. I'll be in Florida too. Gonna celebrate a final four at the BEACH.

Enjoy the celebration. (When State went ice cold against Purdue and couldn't hit a shot for like 10 minutes it was horrible, but at least we kept fighting and didn't shoot 1-20 from 3. My goodness.)

By the way I was at both State games. I really like attending the NCAA tournament. It was my first one since the 90's and I'm positive that I will go next year, even if state doesn't make it.

All indications are that I'm going to crush it again in this next review cycle. Basically, I found a bunch of money laying on the ground with a few projects, and found a way to implement everything and get everyone to want to play ball, without ruffling any feathers. Microsoft Excel is something special.

I love a good Excel story. If you don't want to tell it here, you have my email.

I missed this the first time around. Pretty cool. I'm also interested.

Our CRM is built for a fim with a bunch of micro books of business, not big teams requiring collaboration and coordination with internal specialists. My idea was to export everything, and slice and dice it to build customized reports for both teams and specialists, for clients either scheduled or anticipated to be scheduled over the next month.

The "big call" was basically, if I invest the time to write the code for these reports, and can get reasonable adoption, the quality of our data will improve overnight, and open the door to a lot of other cool shit. It worked: almost everyone reviews my reports in their weekly team meetings. They now have a reason to care.

Now, I have more traction and better data, and can start laying the groundwork for higher level analytics work. It's not that leadership didn't want to do it, but our COO basically always attempts the iron fist approach, with a group of people who don't have to play ball if they don't want to.

Awesome. Well done.

Had my phone interview. She was 30 minutes late calling me (after saying she'd be 15 minutes late) so I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to hide the annoyance in my voice. I don't think I did all that great but irregardless she wants to setup skype interviews with the managers. She balked at my compensation ask but still wanted to proceed but like I told her, I'm not in a hurry and I'm not going to leave unless it's for the right position so, my cards are on the table.

Sounds like you're on the fast track to managing director of ops (with the right haircut of course).

So funny, my recruiter followed up with me after the interview and when I told him I didn't think I did all that well and he legit dropped an "irregardless, she'd like to setup a google hangout for the interview, whatever that is". About burst out laughing. This isn't some elaborate prank by one of y'all is it because if it is you just tipped your hand SIRS.

The CEO has told me that I'll be the head of project management sometime in the next year, but who knows what that position will even look like. That's kind of what I already do, just formalizing the role a little.

The COO is retiring in 5-7 years, and it's possible that they might go with me over an external hire, but it's partially out of my hands. Most of the current leadership will be gone at that point, and the two guys who will take over are my biggest advocates, but it all kinda hinges on whether the firm's growth outpaces my development. All I have to do is not get complacent, and I'm at least going to be the new COO's right hand man.

Seriously though, what is a google hangout?

Did you guys know I'm not eating solid food? Can't imagine I didn't mention it but can't remember either. It's horrible. I like to cook and eat way to much for this. Maybe if you're lucky I'll post a pic of my feeding tube.

Had not one but TWO magnificent naps today. Wife woke me up from the first one because I had a Dr appt. and I was ticked. Luckily when I got home I was able to find that same nap greatness and slept hard for 2.5 hours.

IE, Napster and SA seem to be just killing the work world. Congrats to you guys.

Stay up tilty. You'll be eating solid foods, and OTHER THINGS, here again soon.

Work is work. Flying back from Miami right now. Had a 70 dollar steak at Smith and Wollensky last night. It was good. Needed some ketchup though.

Keep fighting the good fight Tilt. My mother died yesterday from cancer. Declined super fast, couldn't swallow, had the peg tubes the whole 9. But you posting on here and being lucid tells me you're miles ahead of how she was

Keep your mental game strong

For Ron:

http://www.rollingst...-a-year-w473992

"I don't think that I fake it when I stream. I'm pretty sure I'm just a complete ****ing goon. Everyone that I talk to pretty much tells me I'm a dumbass, so I'm pretty sure that either I have some shitty friends or that's just the truth. I feel like that's just who I am. I just don't give a shit."

[...]

"If I was left to my own devices, it'd be like: 'Computer broke? Alright, guess we're never streaming again, guys, that was it for the Imaqtpie livestream.' She definitely complements me in the fact that she's motivated to do stuff and I'm just worthless."

From a room over, Wei yells at the top of her lungs: "Stop saying that!"

"Alright, she said stop saying that. I'm not worthless."

I had quite a few interactions with qt before the concept of a league celebrity or streaming, and he is not doing a persona or anything for those interviews. he is an extremely smart guy that just wanted to play video games all day, and... he does that now.
