Had a legit solicitor come to my door and interrupt me from working last night. Let him give his schpeal and asked why the price he quoted was different than the price on the brochure. (Was selling some oil change package for a local place). Said it was the last two days of the promo so he was offering a discount. I told him I didn't have cash and wasn't going to give him my card details or my bank account info. And when I asked if he knew there was posted no soliciting signs he said he was exempt because it was a local business and I just laughed and said have a good day and closed the day.

 

Looking up city code now and not only was he full of shit, as expected, but apparently he should have had a license on display. I should file a complaint with somebody.

Did the Sam Adams brewery and then hit a few bars and then went to Fenway. My friends all had tickets on THA MONSTA and I got shot down when I tried to go up there before the game but the guy let me in when I tried again after the third.

 

Found out the hard way Charlie cards don't work on the commuter rail and the ticket checker made a point of correcting me when I pronounced "Waltham" incorrectly.

 

Had a lot of fun though catching up wirh guys I hadn't seen in awhile and meeting various SO's.

 

We were going to do a drinking tour bus of the freedom trail but they sold out of tickets before we got confirmation from everyone in our group.

 

Made our sweet old lady bartender cry with laughter when I asked if she wanted to be my plus one to the wedding.

Sorry I haven't been around much this past week or so. Was either not playing or losing mostly...got up to 9 losing sessions (previous record was 6) before finally posting a win last night. Just gotta drop down and grind it back, I guess. Used to do that regularly years ago...was hoping I was somewhat done with it. The good news is that it's also forcing me to examine my game a lot more...I'd gotten lazy about that.
