On the plus side, I could basically get the same house in DSM for about $200k. The downside they live in a much cooler place than I do. I should get a part time job. If a starter house is half a million dollars how the hell do young people have a chance at moving out on their own? Life is just so expensive. I remember when I made $40k for the first time in my life. I thought I had made it. Not anywhere near wealthy obv but not living pay check to pay check either. Now I can't imagine having to make it on less than $60. As discussed many times, it's all relative I guess, the more you make the more your lifestyle rises to the mean. Unless you're strat of course. Tiltinagain 973 Posted October 25, 2014 Share Posted October 25, 2014 In other news, the new job allows/insists on casual dress to better fit in with the clientele (thank goodness, no more slacks/dress shoes every day) so I was telling my wife that I needed to go pick up a few shirts and a couple pair of jeans. She said that before I do I should go through my closet and dresser and make sure what I had. So I did and found 11 shirts I pretty much forgot I had. All henleys, both long and short sleeve for the most part but a couple nice button up short sleeve shirts too. Also found a pair of basically brand new jeans. So I need to get another pair or two of jeans and some new shoes but other wise I'm good to go. So glad that the days of ironing/dry cleaning are soon to be over. Going out to play poker tonight but haven't decided where. The casino I usually go to is having a 3 day music festival at their amphitheater so I'm not sure how much that will affect getting to and parking at the casino. It's more likely that they've tried that and are just so awful that no guy their age is willing to put up with their shit. Or maybe they were all abused as kids themselves and have problems forming relationships with what should be their peer group but they're devlopmetly arrested and can't. In many or nearly all of these cases, the boy is bragging which brings everything down. There was one kid a few weeks ago that was having a threesome with two teachers that were not ugly. That kid should have done whatever it took to make sure he didn't screw that up... but his mouth brought it down. Are you going to just salt them or maybe brush with a little garlic butter then salt out of the oven? That pot roast recipe still amazes me every time it works and I've made it a dozen times now. Just seems so counter-intuitive to put a hunk of meat in a crock pot with a stick of butter and no liquid and have it come out perfect with such a tasty gravy. Poker did not go well. I played just ok and managed to get up a little, then pushed all in on the turn when I hit my open ender from the BB after 2 hearts hit the flop, got called, by a guy that had reloaded at least 4 times, with 2 pair and he hit his 4 outer on the river.
