At least, we hope not. so, a little bit of context on what I posted earlier. we had this group meeting, about 15 people or so. management starts talking about yearly performance reviews, how the process will work. at the end, they slip in, "we won't be including the newer guys in this since they haven't been here very long." it's like dead silence for a few seconds while everyone tries to figure out if we already knew about it. so anyway, I'm just livid about it, because they told me I'd be considered for a raise this year during my interview, in an effort to keep me from negotiating. I was never taking that news well, of course, but to deliver it in front of everyone to avoid having to break it to us individually... I can't believe it. JLL already hit on this a little bit....When I read this I had a different take than you. The managers were talking about standard annual performance reviews. Every company I've worked at didn't include people hired after a certain cut off date in these. My bet is that this is what they were referring to. Your agreement during your interview was not about a regular annual review but about a raise/promotion after a certain amount of time. Totally different in my mind. I would urge you not to jump to conclusions on this. Pick the right time and ask your manager. Something like "Hey, my 90 days is coming up in 3 weeks, when can we get together to talk about my raise/promotion" Maybe I'm wrong but your deal sounds like a special arrangement made for you. They're obviously not going to tag onto "we're not going to do them for the new guys" with "except for strat who we have an agreement with". It's very likely that they don't have the same agreement with the other new guys. I actually thought that the other day. Strat wants sales guy money on operations guy skills. I literally said to myself, he should be an actuary. I then anger-bated because I was thinking of Strat on my off time. I was thinking about this the other day too.
