Tiltinagain 973
Lay off the mescaline jonny. At the casino. Titly's fault. At least I'm a good influence on someone around here. Be sure to shove with a draw. You know, for tilty. Yes! Do it because I didn't have the balls to do it myself!
Napa Lite 3,278
I'm only a good player on paper anymore. I get too bored and start doing stupid stuff like limp/ calling JTo and too scared to do stuff like shove there. Probably because I usually only have $4-500 cash on me at the time.
SuperJon 175
I played live 200NL last night. I check my option in the BB with 5c4c after 2 limpers. Flop is Jc7c2d. I bet $7, call, raise to $30. I ended up folding. They both get it in on the flop (72 vs 22). Running clubs and the board doesn't pair.

I just haven't developed the patience to consistently fold for an hour while waiting for the right spots. One of the things I like about limit poker better is that I can splash around more and take stupid chances without it costing my stack. Since I just play for fun I should probably stick to that but I like aspects of NL better. I used to play quite a few NL tournaments which gave me my NL fix and I was perfectly happy playing limit cash games. Unfortunately the casino I go to most often doesn't run tournaments.
frautotenkinder 1,025
As a minority myself... Minority status through religion? Quiet, restorative weekend so far. I stayed home Friday night, worked yesterday. I made a serious dent in a bottle of wine last night, but did not drink as much as last weekend. I made the dubious choice of hanging up some pictures while drinking, though. I got most of it right, but I'll have to rehang one thing. I'm never getting the security deposit back on this place. Tonight I'm taking Mr. FriendZone out to celebrate his new job. We're going to Neil Hamburger at The Satellite--he got uncomfortable because I'm driving, and I bought the tickets. They're only $8/pp, so I told him to buy me a beer. http://www.thesatellitela.com/event/490365-neil-hamburger-rob-delaney-los-angeles/ I saw Bridget Everett last week--she is filthy super filthy and I think the combination of her show + Neil Hamburger will make me unfit for any type of human companionship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ0e7Q9IZWw

frautotenkinder 1,025
I probably posted it before. Brvhrt, please pray specifically for me. I'm trying to book a 2 bedroom in Boystown for Columbus Day weekend. I need two separate bedrooms, two real beds, and access to the finest bars in town. I'm going to that lesbian wedding, and my ex will probably be there. I've commandeered an old dear (gay) friend of mine to meet me in Chicago and be my date. It's Gay Boy Friend's birthday that weekend, so I offered to pay for the room. (This was totally selfish of me, I sensed he was waffling about booking his ticket. I need him by my side.) Napa Lite 3,278
I would have been your date and not required you to pay for my room/ticket and would have sincerely offered to pay for all our meals/drinks for the weekend but that's fine.
Iphonenkinder 558
Thank you, that's very kind. My apologies--I had forgotten about your secondary career o wedding guest.
Napa Lite 3,278
You're right, I'm probably booked that weekend anyways. But don't get me wrong, I have no problem with letting women pay for stuff and would gladly let you if you insisted. But I also have no problem offering to pay for everything. Roll the Bones 74
Damn I'm tired. Busted but in the garden today. I'm finally about done and ready for the summer. A few touch ups and I'll be ready for the reveal party. I actually made ladder/window garden art today. I know you all are as anxious about it as you are all these wedding date fiascos but you'll just have to wait a little bit longer.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
Suited, how did you decide to like Nebraska baseball over KU baseball? Nebraska historically better, I'm guessing? I'm golfing tomorrow. After getting back from beach late Monday, vacay (well, the wife's vacay) has been a dud since she was sick from Tuesday until today. Oh well. Back on the grind for a job on Tuesday. Gotta get serious here

AmScray 355
so scram, you going to respond about that watch? There are two reasons to purchase a watch. To tell time, or as a symbol of status. Tudor is the Epiphone of Gibson. There's a weird dyssynergy in spending anything over $100 on a watch that is a lower tier version of a luxury brand, as the only reason to spend more than $100 on a watch is to secure the image of 'look at me, I'm someone capable of spending four or five figures on a watch. I appreciate the GOOD STUFF!'. Anyone who would recognize the watch would recognize it as a Tudor, anyone who wouldn't isn't going to care either way. So, maybe look at the Citizen/Seiko family.
brvheart 1,752
I was playing $300 max NL last night and am curious about how you would have played the following hand on the flop. Blinds are $2 - $5, I'm the button with about $220 behind with J 10 off suit. 3 players call the big blind and I limp along. SB makes it $15, BB and 2 others call, I call Flop comes 8 9 4 rainbow. SB bets out $35. Folds to a guy in middle position who raises to $75. One more fold by the guy on my right and the action is on me. What would you do? The after hand debate was pretty interesting so I thought I'd ask your guys opinion before I reveal the rest of the hand. insta-fold. But I'm fairly conservative with cards. brvheart 1,752
I think the preempting question would be; do you regularly limp jto on the button with 3 hoboes who've just limped behind you, or was it a table-specific thing? Because unless that's a horrible table, I'm folding that button with jto 100% of time with three dirtbags straggling in behind me and two left to go. Suited and a horrible table, I raise there 100% of the time. Suited and a good table, maybe I limp but if any of the blinds push back and stragglers stick around, I instafold. Overplayed a crappy hand preflop and fell headfirst into a draw with action. Common big-picture scenario. Your call or shove there is a play against what? That SB is a maniac and $75 middle position guy is squeezing you so you're going to big-swinging-dick them both and go in with two overs of an open ender? Barring a hugely specific situational read, I'm folding that every time, I'm not even playing it to begin with. You play jto preflop, yes, you are hoping to get an 8 and a 9, but not with action and reaction in front of it. Variables being: my table image is such that there's a very real chance I can get the ******* to lay down his overpair and accept he's not laying down a set. ...and Scram makes a good point. You have to fold that preflop, since even your best case scenario is you going all in with a draw or something like top pair with a 10 kicker, which are both folds to any major action in front. Minority status through religion? Among other things. I probably posted it before. Brvhrt, please pray specifically for me. I'm trying to book a 2 bedroom in Boystown for Columbus Day weekend. Someday, I'm going to convince you to meet me somewhere in Chicago.
