Whatever happened with Pauls idea to put his companies under a non-profit basketball league to avoid paying taxes?

Edit: yeah, I basically owe my entire career to you getting me a job at HRC. So, umm, thanks for that.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Holy shit. I'm glad you guys are here for free.

I've decided once my new insurance kicks in I'm going to go see a therapist. Which is ironic (?) because I'm feeling better than I've felt in a loooooong time.

That's a great idea. Time well spent.

Fitz: The main thing I saw one of them do was planning as organization. He set lofty goals for P to complete and would get super pissed if they weren't done by the next week. Task and time management and efficiency were to major themes. They swore by them for several years, but I don't think they use them now, so I'm guessing they felt like they had implemented enough ideas and the benefit wasn't there to continue paying.

Whatever dude. You were a great employee. Anywhere you work is lucky to have you.

He did it! They "sold" HRC to the non-profit and saved like 200k in taxes over several years. They even bought the wood floor and pro hoops from the old RCA dome and have the entire back half of the building a court now.

I could definitely get you time on the court with your team if you ever so desire.

Maybe, but I'm a horrible interviewer and I know for a fact your reference (and Eric's) got me my first "real" job.

Ha, that's awesome. And f' my team. I want to go and just put up shots myself.

I went to the bar where I know the bartender once I got off of work. By myself. It's cool though. My hair looks fantastic.

That's the same as having a life coach. Drink up Chachi. Good on your for getting out. Wish others would follow your lead

thats a lot of money to pay someone to be your friend.

A drop in the bucket compared to how much you'll have to pay to get a friend

I'm SA's friend. I'm going to go to a KC Royals/NYY game with him this summer. Even if I have to buy his ticket. And then we'll go to a strip club now that Strats not there to bring us down about going to such an establishment.

you know, I'd like to get out right now. but there's about 2 inches of snow on the road with about an inch of ice underneath. think there's a good amount of sleet on top of all of that too so yeah, I'm just gonna sit right here. eating crackers and deer jerkey, drinking pale ales, and watching survivorman. I mean I think I'm doing ok.

oh and if I didn't mention, work was closed today and it's closed again tomorrow. monday's a holiday so FIVE DAY WEEKEND BITCHES.

It's super hilarious that your work was closed for two straight days because of 2 inches of snow. We had another couple inches today, which fell on already ice/snow covered roads, and I didn't here about any closings... school or otherwise.

Super awesome you have a 5 day weekend though, pussy.

but yeah, you're assuming that the 2 inches on my road is ubiquitous but I'm actually in town and we've had our roads plowed several times today. the backroads here and even many of the neighborhoods in the city where my work is haven't been plowed yet. lots and lots of road mileage with not all that many plows.

but I'll be driving to the grocery store in the morning for pot roast supplies don't you worry.

trip report

flew out sunday. got really nervous when it started snowing as i was leaving for the airport but stopped quickly and no problems flying.

went to dinner at emeril's fishhouse sunday night which was pretty frickin delish. did a little gambling and drank a bit too much.

monday was a little hungover and didn't sleep too well sunday night. walked around the strip a bit and looked around the cosmopolitan and aria shops and stuff. went to earl of sandwich for lunch, was just ok.

had $100 food/bev credit so went to Fiamma in mgm monday night and was pretty underwhelmed. ordered the calamari starter and first one was way overcooked and rubbery as hell. second was better, but pretty standard calamari. when i had them refire my app, apparently they didn't slow down the main and I could tell it set under the heatlamp for a while. it was a shrimp and scallop risotto. scallops were cooked poorly with no color on them at all. risotto had kind of setup in to an oatmeal like consistency but had decent flavor. guy sitting next to me at bar decided to order same thing and his looked soooo much better. glad i didn't pay for it. was kinda tired so took a sleeping pill, closed the blackout curtain, and crashed for about twelve hours.

woke up tuesday around 12:30 feeling awesome. grabbed a quick bit at the food court then went and got a straight razor shave at art of shaving in the mandalay shops. the barber was such a stereotypical looking little old russian lady it was kind of amusing, more on this later. did some gaming and drinking for a couple hours then took a quick cat nap. went to nine fine irishmen for dinner. sat outside to people watch. knew it was an irish joint when the beer made it to my table well before my glass of water. had the bangers n mash which was tasty but service wasn't very good. i think she was in the weeds because of a party and no one was backing her up. more drinking, more gambling. actually came out ahead on this evening but not by enough to be any where in sight of covering the losses on the rest of the trip.

wednesday, walked around the strip a bit more just people watching and shit. stopped back at nine fine for an afternoon black n tan and some really, really good onion rings. went to dinner at craftsteak to burn up the rest of the food n bev credit and it was simply perfect. had shrimp cocktail starter and surf n turf with a spinach side. just flawless. was walking by the casino bar and luba, the little old lady barber. she instantly recognizes me and acts as if she has been sitting at the bar waiting for me. i stop to have a drink and things get weird when she kind of starts flirting with me and asking me if i'm single etc etc. easily old enough to be my mother. i excuse myself by saying i had to go meet some people and head to a different bar. sitting at the bar and a couple seats over is blonde, about my age maybe a bit older. at first i thought she might be a pro because the fake boob cleavage was on full display. turns out she was an off duty cocktail waitress and friends with the bartender. so converse with the two of them for a couple hours wondering if i could wrangle a 3 way but they're heading out so we say our goodbyes and head up to the room to attempt to pack while fairly intoxicated.

things i learned this trip:

i'm old.

black hookers are drawn to me like moths to flame. it's my version of the hood pass i guess. persian hookers are a close second.

i can spend a few days in vegas drinking and gambling and not smoke. was pretty happy about that.

Excellent write up Hank.

It's cool, Ron. I got a friend from HS that lives in KC that's a huge Yankees fan that I'm sure would take my extra ticket (assuming she's not already going). If not her I have a few friends from college that live in KC that would probably join me. If not, oh well.

My roommates out on a date with some chick he boned on Sunday (not the handicap girl, a different one). I'm hoping that they come back here because I'm kinda drunk still and want to meet her. I bet I can make her laugh.
