What you really need to do, now that I think of it is go over to the Garment district to a place called Kataly rugs and find the Artisan collection, AN-050 and haggle me a damn deal! On your way back go one of the Brooklyn Flea market and pick a cool rug and that stuff up for a few dollars. Or go to Ikea. Pottery Barn Outlet malls have some cool rugs really cheap. The cool ones are fro West Elm. There is probably no shortage of cool places to shop in New York the more I think about it. Damn, it's cool where you live. You are livin' the life brotha', livin' the life...

In other news, because of my heavy drinking, combined with a strange and haphazard sleep schedule, I got my days confused, and didn't realize today was Tuesday until about 10 minutes ago. I have to be to work at 7. I am halfway through a liter of cheap vodka. So I'm going to have to ask my ex for a ride to work, then sit in the car with her for 15 minutes, and then work until 3, deal with people, deal cards, handle thousands of dollars, all while drunk, then hungover, then, knowing me, fuck it might as well get drunk again.

 

I am getting fired.

We email every 3-6 months, usually just one back and forth. We broke up on good terms and are both happy with our current lives and relationships, so there's no reason not to be friends. We wouldn't have dated for so long if we weren't compatible as friends anyway, and there's no bitterness on any level, so it seems pretty normal to me.

things are about to get ridiculous at work. three people from my group quit the firm in the last two weeks, one guy is out on vacation for an entire month, etc. turnover is routine here, but this would be like a 400% increase over the norm if it kept up at this rate.

one was above me, and the guy that just quit was very likely going to be considered for replacing that person. it's just a matter of whether they'll consider my temp stint as experience toward the 1 year requirement. I think it's a possibility.
