and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Remember when me and speedz were defending the way Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy shoot the shit and/or have giggle-fests during broadcasts? This is a 19-8 game in the 9th so most broadcasters wouldn't be focusing on the game either, but it's still a good example. Decide for yourself. It gets better as it goes (no giggling). http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=19420219

Im way too tired to share specific details on my direct observations of the restaurant industry at the moment,...Yeah, its been a long day again. The majority was spent prepping for paint until the kid got home. Then I retrieved a muzzleloader from the stash, cleaned it, and gave a complete tutorial to him and his two friends on how to properly load and fire it. If that wasnt enough, I also installed a new string, arrow knock, and served in a new peep sight into my old compound bow for him...The things a dad has to doOh... the restaurant thing...Ive been in many, many, maaaany places to eat in my time, and not just as a customer avoiding my wifes fine cooking. Id wager that fifty percent of them were less than acceptable in the general public eyes if they saw what I did behind the scenes. The funny thing is... the "higher" class joints were the worst as far cleanliness goes...Ive seen cuts of meat lying in the greasy floor of fine steak houses and heads of lettuce floating in dirty dishwater of upscale buffets. Overflowing grease traps marinating frozen pulled pork in chinese joints and skin pulled off of thousand island dressing at famous franchisesIf absolute cleanliness if your goal, stick with newly opened joints within the first three months or so. They are under the gun by both the owners and the investors who watch every move with trained eyes. After that, they tend to lose interest and fear of the local health inspectors...For those of you on the west coast, without a doubt the safest place to eat is an In-n-Out. I know for a fact that they have an absolute no tolerance policy on cleanlinessHell... Ive eaten at the snack bar in the Western Casino, the Plaza buffet, and many shrimp cocktails at the Golden Gate..... Still drawing breathI wont comment on Slots a Funs hot dogs, although it was just a few days of high pressure shits between hallucinations of rabid clowns after two of them... In other news...To the recipient of the upcoming delivery of canofladges...I purchased a few six packs of beverages yesterday of your choosing and made the kid and his friends drink the contents to complete the orderThey should have them choked down by tomorrow so I can commence cutting them out...

Hi fellow poster,I do still have this account available for use. Please keep me informed in the matter of the poker sites developing stories. I, for one, cannot believe that they were a scam all along.regards,

I'm surprised that smart guys like Lederer and Ferguson were involved in that. There was such a huge amount of money to be made legally, why risk it with a Ponzi-like scheme when the government was bound to be all over them as soon as possible. My girlfriend's cat has a new favorite game. She digs a piece of food out of her bowl, lines it up at the edge of the counter, and then whacks it across the room so she can watch the dog chase after it. Animals be funny.

No, not really. Even to operate one of these sites while not touching player funds involved huge amounts of money laundering to skirt the UIGEA. PokerStars and Absolute are shut down without having done the ponzi part.

But their owners made a ton of money and aren't in danger of going to jail. I assume.

That's almost poetic.Loved your poker videos. Or, to be more accurate, loved when there were glimpses of guys wearing overalls or just letting their guts hang out of whatever tiny shirts I assume they might have been wearing.

Oh no. It looks like now I owe you an apology for my semi-apology.

I was still high from the beer and paint fumes...Yeah... the weekly game has some colorful figures in it. Mr. Overalls owns a trucking company, hundreds of acres of farm land, and more cattle than you could vaccinate in a lifetime. Hes famous for going over to the local injun casino and playing five ten no limit once. After an hour or so, he told the table... "Now boys...just tell me when you get tired of me pullin all these hundreds outta my pocket"He also enjoys holding on to a pair of threes in the hole all the way to the river against a missed ace king to win a several hundred dollar pot...Easy money is my nickname for himMr. Gut regularly shows up to empty the buffet table and fart the Star Spangled Banner all the way to the end without pause...The guy to my left thats a dead ringer for Burt Reynolds enjoys drinking lemonade/Crown Royal concoctions until falling out of his chair and communicating with Martians in their native tongue. He owns a directional boring company worth millionsLotsa dollars around the table but not much sense...

This makes me miss playing regularly in AZ. At my high (low) point I had a nickname for pretty much all of the regulars, and could almost always count on a winning night, thanks to the tourists, which allowed me my victory meal (In & Out) on my way home.

have you not seen the way status updates are now? theres like 3 different categories and they're all out of order. it's ridiculous.
Yeah, it's not very good. I'm not sure why they didn't keep the style that they had before but with some improvements. The whole TopNews/MostRecent distinction was somewhat ugly and I understand why they wanted to rid themselves of it, but there would have been much smarter ways to do so. I think the key idea to maintain is simplicity, and the way to do this is to have one singular "news feed." There is a single bar down the center where all updates go. But, on top of the bar, there could be buttons that one presses to only show a subset of this bar. It could be: All | Status Updates | Pictures | New Friendships | Recommended ... etcThe key would be to animate the movement between those different categories to emphasize that they are all subsets of the one, singular, universal news feed. So, if I were to go from All->Recommended, the news feed, which previously kept all stories, would shuffle together, and the Recommended stories would all come together while the other stories would fall into the background. Then if I were to do the opposite, those stories would emerge and file into their recommended places. Also, this news feed would always be time ordered (this is important, if not very obvious). One think I DO like is the idea of the blue corner on the upper left. If a story is recommended, the upper corner is blue. I would use this in my model, so if your newsfeed was in "All" mode, you could still pick out what Facebook deems as interesting. You could also tell facebook that a story is interesting, which would effect its algorithm of what it determines is interesting for you in the future. The most horrible thing about the new facebook update is obviously that ugly bar on the right with status updates that travels around with you. It's ugly, awkward, and I don't really know what it is or why it's there...And I also don't like that the "Recommended" stories which now are on top (at least initially) lose their time ordering when they are removed from the feed and placed at the top. That's confusing and not necessary at all.

But their owners made a ton of money and aren't in danger of going to jail. I assume.
The founders of all three companies have been charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering conspiracy, as well as violation of the unlawful internet gaming act. The DOJ is seeking $3 billion dollars from the three companies, and these guys will definitely be going to jail if they can be found. There are arrest warrants for the Isai Scheinberg, the founder of PokerStars, Scott Tom & Brent Beckley the founders of Absolute Poker, and Ray Bitar the founder of Full Tilt. Lederer and Ferguson I think have only been charged in a civil complaint so I don't think they will be arrested.

The story is still a bit fuzzy, and I guess we don't know all the details yet. But am I right in the assumption that a lot of the money that the Full Tilt "Pro's" played with was given to them from FT out of the pool of deposits? Is that the main issue at hand? Or was it that money was otherwise invested in the company (even though it should have been separate)? Or was it outright embezzled?

Did we...uh, did we just hear it?
I was also wondering this. Another thing I was wondering: why did everyone all of a sudden start talking about poker? Did something recent happen?
