Try and chill. Its all just smack talk among friends. I think if some outside nation attempted trouble in canada the us would be right there and vice versa.
Im completly cool with that and i agree with you but it gets taken a little far sometimes whatever clearly im not getting any sympathy here.

hahahahaha . . .f'in canadians, what a bunch of lazy, beer-swilling, good for nothing, belly-scratching, high tax-paying, ridiculous curling-watching, igloo-living, snowmobile-driving . . .wait a second . . .

Canada: They built a country and nobody came.
Sorry OP, you are right. No one should be made fun of for their nationality. I do mean that sincerely.I will confess though, that I found the above quote rather humorous. :club: It is a sad statement about human nature that many people feel a need to belittle others to make themselves feel better. Take some consolation in the fact that they have to be insecure or just a jerk to make rude comments. Any Canada insults I've heard have been pretty mild, like the example above. No one HATES Canada, like many people in the world feel about the USA. So cheer up. Many Americans could change their tune and be moving up there very quickly if our enemies decide to act out against us again.

Canada is like that neighbor you have but never really talk to. He's there and you wave occasionally to him, but for the most part he's quiet and doesn't bother anyone.Which is why you make fun of him and call him a serial killer behind his back...cause really..What's he gonna do about it?
Stop sending you oil. See how long you last on the minute amount you can steal from the middle east.

Dont know where to start on this one. I suspect if they didnt send us oil nothing would go north and i think you would lose. And as far as the previuos post about americans going north if attacked, you know nothing of history if you think americans run from a fight.

Wow your really smart. Do you realize how much more Canada exports to the United States than vice versa. The United States has very minimal natural resources and realies on Canada for most of it. Im not exactly sure how you feel we would be the ones that would be screwed if trading between the countries stoped. Im pretty sure Water and Oil are a little bit more important than ....... can't really think of any significant things the US imports to Canada.

I appriciate your support and i have no problem when people joke around about Canada that isn't the issue here. Im more concerned when its clearly meant in a negative way. And most of the time when it happens online its some idiot who lost a race or took a bad beat so he goes off on Canada.

Does anyone ever wonder why americans never start threads about why do canadiens say naughty things about them? Does anyone ever wonder why they knock our leaders but we never knock theirs?? Oh thats an easy one, we dont know who the hell is running that place.Does anyone ever wonder why their national pastime is headquarted in new york? Does anyone ever wonder why Montreal is the world capital of bad jokes and gay porn??Does anyone know why most of canada speaks english and not russian or german? Thats an easy one. For the answer to these and other puzzling questions tune in to southpark tomorrow.

This is a common misconception. Canada's economy depends on US/Canada trade with daily trade over$1 billion. The trade imbalance is not as great as people think. In 2005 total exports to Canada were $211,349.0 million, imports $287,870.2 million for a trade imbalance of -$76,521.2 milllion. Trade balance data available from http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c1220.html#2005 Here's some more stats from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/washin...ent/wltr-en.asp"Co-operation has produced tremendous benefits to both nations: in 2003, two-way trade in goods and services surpassed $441.5 billion, making the U.S.–Canada trading relationship the largest in the world. In 2003, the U.S. sold $195.8 billion worth of goods and services to Canada and received $245.8 billion worth of goods and services from Canada.37,000 trucks cross the border between the two countries each and every day. 58% of these cross at only five key border crossings — the Ambassador Bridge, Sarnia, Fort Erie, Lacolle and the Pacific Highway.Since 1989, when the U.S. and Canada implemented the Canada–U.S. Free Trade Agreement, trade between the two countries has accelerated, more than doubling from $192.4 billion to $441.5 billion in 2003.Canada has been the leading destination for U.S. exports since 1946! From cars to computers — Canada buys more goods and services from the U.S. than any other country in the world. One-fifth of all U.S. exports went to Canada in 2003.Thirty-seven states count Canada as their number one foreign customer; Canada is the most important destination of exports for most of the states along the border as well as the northeast and central U.S., and as far south as Missouri and Georgia. Twenty-three states sent more than one-quarter of their exports to Canada in 2003.Since the implementation of the Canada–U.S. Free Trade Agreement in 1989 and the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994, there has been a dramatic increase in two-way interdependence between the two economies.U.S. exports bound for Canada more than doubled between 1989 and 2003, from $79.9 billion to $169.8 billion. Over the same period, U.S. imports from Canada increased from $89.9 billion to $226.9 billion. In 2003, merchandise trade accounted for 86.7% of total U.S. exports to Canada and 92.3% of total imports from Canada.Canada provides close to one-fifth of U.S. imports used in the production process or directly consumed. Nearly 60% of U.S. wood and paper imports came from Canada in 2002, despite the softwood lumber dispute between the two countries."Can't we just get along?

History i have some history for ya! EH!II. The War of 1812The United States declared war against Great Britain on June 18, 1812. Although war had been avoided for several years, the continued harassment of U.S. ships and impressment of American sailors by the British pushed the nations to the brink. Despite protests from pro-English Federalists in Congress, President James Madison, at the time of his reelection, had determined that there was no other solution. For the first two years of the war, the fighting was confined to Canada, the Great Lakes, and the high seas. Great Britain was preoccupied with their simultaneous war against France and did not have the resources to devote attention to both fronts. The war was distant from the people of Washington. But once Great Britain overthrew Napoleon in April 1814, it consolidated its forces against the United States. The fighting moved down the Atlantic coast towards the Chesapeake Bay.After a disastrous battle at Bladensburg, Maryland, which President Madison witnessed, American forces retreated. The British turned their sights on Washington. Enemy troops marched to Washington and burned the major government buildings, including the White House and Capitol. Although burning the city was primarily in retaliation for the torching of the Canadian capitol, York (now Toronto), the British also hoped to disgrace President Madison and to divide the country once again. Fortunately, the fire did not have the desired effect. After several more months of war, including the needless but successful Battle of New Orleans, the United States declared victory, ratifying the Treaty of Ghent on February 17, 1815. I can assure you that my grades in history were just fine thank you. Apparently they were better than your grades in english. Please reread my post and pay attention. I am an American. If we were under attack, I would get my kids into the car and head for the border so fast it would make your head spin. That doesn't make all people from the USA cowards, it just makes me a concerned parent. Many friends and family would stay to join the military, but several would also join me in getting our children to safety. That is common sense, not cowardice.

Every country has plenty of arseholes. The US also has a lot of people who are highly nationalistic. Much more so than in Canada. Nationalistic arseholes go off on chest-beating, flag waving slag-fests. Our arsejoles here in Canada are more likely to make fun of your mamma than your mother country. What's the difference really? It's all just testosterone. Anyway, I gotta go. Dog team wouldn't start today, so I've got a lot of tundra to hike across.
