I can see the arguments for 3-betting, but i think folding would be a big error.Flop: (8 SB) [Qd], [3h], [9c] (4 players)SB bets, Hero raisesI am protecting my hand, but do i really need to? Pancake407 0
I like the raise to protect your hand, SB worries me though because calling stations rarely bet their own hand, but I really dont think you can fold just yet. Whats your play if everyone folds back to SB who 3-bets?
sirch1 0
i like the raise that way you can get a sense of how strong the small blind really is. You probably have the ebst hand but you want as much information as possible and if a calling station is three betting and capping it you have to put him on a hand

Thoughts? There are certain times where smooth calling here is best. But with the pot reaching 10sbs, I think it is better for you to raise now. If the pot were a tiny bit smaller, and you could count on your opponents making loose calls on the flop and turn (and sometimest he river), then calling would be a much better option.Edit: Of course if your opponents are very loose, and will call 2 cold with weak draws/bottom pair, then it is best to raise it up right away regardless of the pot size.
