Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is MP3 with [Qs], [Qh]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls.Flop: (7.50 SB) [Ad], [3h], [8s] (2 players)UTG+1 bets, Hero?Villain is less than 30 hands so far but has been very tight - 7% and raised every hand he's played PF. No draws on this flop so it's probably like 90% or better that this villain has a big A. What's your line throughout?raise flop/call 3-bet/fold turn UI?raise flop/fold to 3-bet?call down?

I probably raise flop, call 3-bet and fold turn UI, although I doubt that's the best line. It does seem very likely the villain has a big ace, so we're likely drawing to 2 outs here. UTG's bet on the flop is a bit odd tho... Could it be something like JJ betting there? You'd think the villain would go for a c/r on that flop with an ace...

I don't know if its correct or not, but I play this WA/WB most of the time.
I like it.If I had 88-JJ, I'd raise and fold to a 3-bet.Bet the turn if checked to (fold if bet into) and check behind on river (hoping he had folded by now)But with QQ and an Ace already out there, we really don't have to protect against anything. Rasing the flop folds 88-JJ too much. KK is highly unlike based on preflop play. It's AT-AQ a lot here, or 99-JJ. I think he check/calls the river a lot without AK, so we get slightly better odds.w/o a stronger read, I guess I do the wa/wb too.I jsut can't imagine we fold AT-AQ by raising the flop, if we could, I wouldRaising flop and callnig a 3-bet and folding turn UI is badWe don't have odds to call a 3-bet if we are drawing to a set.Hence a call of a 3-bet implies our hand is good, and should be shown down.If we raise flop, I'd fold to a 3-bet.Against passive stright forward players, I can lean that way. Just with a weak read, I probably go to showdown, using the wa/wb line and calling down from flop bet onward.believe me, he has TT enough to do this wa/wb line

My first instinct is to fold. I need someone to show me a hand where the villain shows down JJ here. I can't recall ever seeing it. Maybe it's because I'm too weak. How often do they donk a hand we beat here? After thinking, Wa/Wb is good, but someone reinforce it for me.- Zach

I cant find a good example.Except sometimes they stop betting after flop, and dont have Ace.i'm certain they exist, my database is just small right nowPartly, I dont like to be pushed off a hand I 3 bet with preflop.Revisiting the idea to Raise/fold flop, it saves 1.5 BB vs calling down, so against a typical loose/passive, I like that better than WA/WB line...at least right now.

Villain is TAP with a very limited number of hands observed. Really doubt he's a fish though. Some (many?) villains will look to c/r a big A on this flop so I think that tilts things slightly more in favor of villain doing this without an A. I'm not sure that c/r this flop is really best for AK though. It seems like wa/wb wins us more when we're ahead but lose us more when we're behind. If we call this flop do we need to see the showdown? If we call the flop and villain leads the turn does that give us enough more info that we're beat? With a good read that villain really is TAP I'd think he'd likely check JJ, TT if he led this flop and got called.
